Really disappointed today. I came in to bathe my dog at 7:20. I was told that the bath is about to close at 7:30 and that I am not allowed to bathe my dog. There are no signs or info online about the baths closing early before the close of the store. I used to be a faithful customer simply out of convenience, but I will be seeking other methods to clean my dog. I just feel that that is so lazy since all that needs to be done is spray out the tub and dump the fur trap once finished, but what do I know? I'm a black woman if that matters :) read more

Another great store but in a different location. This store is located in a newly developed stripmall near Causeway Blvd. Here I find all the things I need to make for a happy home for my beloved pooch Sunshine. From toys to food to flea protection, this place is like the WalMart for all things pet ownership. The rewards program is totally a plus as most places don't reward you for spending money with them. Friendly staff are on-hand to assist & answer questions as needed. On this particular occasion, after purchasing Sunshine's flea & tick protection, I had questions about the rewards program & how it works. The sales associate was very patient in explaining the ins and outs; she advised of coupons and the like. I felt very informed as I exited. Pricing is fair. Parking is shared and is a bit of a challenge. read more

This is a great little Jefferson Feed. PARKING IS USUALLY A SEVERE ISSUE but I don't mind the walk. They always have my spoiled dogs' particular brand of prissy food in stock at great prices! The staff are really nice helpful and patient. Service with a sincere smile... Just sling the 30lbs bag over your shoulder and walk the 1/4 mile or more to your car while dodging insane patrons of this over crowded strip mall with a dangerous lack of parking. I went into Jefferson Feed to get something warm to put on my little Morkie Cooper. The two girls were so nice, Clara, and Claire! I found the perfect little shearling coat that is super soft! Well...then I stumbled across the cutest toys for your dog! Hot chocolate, French fries, sushi and a taco. See pics! I ended up getting the French fries and the fries come out and the three sets of fries all squeak and the fries box makes a crinkling noise! Cooper loves it. They were so nice and accommodating and always are at the other locations that I'm really happy to know they're so close! Right next to Trader Joe's on Vets. Next time I'll bring Cooper to pick out his treats! read more

Excellent store to pick up what my fur child needs. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, and well stocked with necessities. Today they had two very adorable guinea pigs in the store. I had to stop and visit with those cuties. They have a great selection of dog and cat food, treats and toys. They also carry beds, leashes and habitats. They cover lots of other pets as well, but I didn't venture too far into the store since the things I came for were near the front, and I had to get what I needed and skedaddle. I'll be back to peruse another time. read more

I go here all the time to get food and supplies for my dog. Today I went to get some canned food they have in the back of the store like I normally do. There was this guy salesman who has black hair and glasses, who looked like he needed a haircut. He followed me in the back and when I got the food he followed me to the register. I felt really uncomfortable, like he was watching me expecting to steal something. It was terrible and insulting. This never happened to me before and all the associates are always nice to me and my dog. Ridiculous and I am going to Petco next time. read more

Though I've shopped here many times before, it's not always a unpleasant experience but the unpleasantness I have experienced is enough to mention. I have been going to (not just this location) for over a decade. The customer service has gone down hill. Well, the young male employees specically. I was at this location today, and there was a 6'3 300 pound young man watching me, a woman in my 40s, carry around 70 pounds of food. Not only did he not offer to help, he stood in front of me as I tried to pass him leaving the isle, starting at me. This man needs more training since clearly his parents didnt raise him right. Its not that I couldn't carry it, its just bad customer service. He was literally just standing there doing nothing. I felt intimidated. I've experienced the exact same thing at the midcity location. If anyone offers to help, its one of the female employees. Its happened enough now that ill be driving a little further to the other local feed store. I have several rescue animals of several species and I spend hundreds a month on feed and supplies. I like the rewards program, but the cocky rude young men they hire isnt worth it. read more

I'm so thrilled that there is now a Jefferson Feed located in Metairie! I've been a huge fan of their main location on Jefferson Highway, but it was a bit too far out of the way for me to visit frequently for dog food. This location is super convenient, located right next door to Trader Joe's; Now I can go shopping for me and the girls at the same time. I love Jefferson Feed because they carry high quality dog food brands that are difficult to find at your standard pet store. You're not going to find Pedigree here people, and that is a good thing! My girls have food allergies, and are therefore on a grain-free diet. I'm big on research and while I'm sure there are GF options at Petsmart or Petco, you really should be reading the ingredients list to make sure the ingredients they are using in your go-to brand are high quality and meet AAFCO standards at minimum. I currently am feeding the girls Fromm Four-Star Grain-Free entrees and they can't get to their bowls fast enough. I love that they offer several different interchangeable blends from Fromm's Four-Star Grain-Free line such as Beef Frittata, Game Bird, Hasen Duckenpfeffer, Surf & Turf, Salmon Tunalini and Pork & Peas, so my girls never get bored eating the same old kibble month after month. The kibble and treats Jefferson Feed sells are of the highest quality and they will even allow you to return your kibble should your furbaby not like it or should the kibble not agree with your furbaby, as long as you have a receipt, the original bag and 25% of the kibble remaining. This was a huge perk as I'm always hesitant to try anything new because I'm not sure how the girls will react to it resulting in wasted money. That's never an issue here! The folks working here are extremely helpful and are willing to answer any questions you may have. Dillon was very knowledgeable and was of great help to me at my first visit. I love this mini Jefferson Feed. The selection of def limited in comparison to the larger Jefferson Feed stores but the location is perfect for a quick stop. My favorite are the handmade dog bones!! There are birthday cakes, and seasonal choices galore!!!!!! We have had "mini chocolate Easter bunnies", summer fishies, birthday bones and so much more!! I absolutely love this location of Jefferson Feed! It's a lot smaller than other locations but they carry everything I need and the location itself is very convenient. Not to mention it's right next door to Trader Joe's so that's a huge plus. The employees here are so helpful and always in a good mood. It just makes it even better knowing before you go in that someone will be there to help you should you need to find something specific or just have a question. I also love that people bring their dogs inside to shop. I really enjoy speaking with other dog owners and learning about different breeds. I also found out recently that they have a service now that you can bring your dog in a wash them yourself. It's $15.00 for 30 minutes which is not bad because for most dog's it does not take that long to wash them. It's a huge relief to know services like this are available because when you own a giant dog like I do it can really come in handy to have a place to wash them in the winter when the water is cold. read more

Right next to the popular Trader Joe's grocery so if you have pets might as well make it a 2 for 1 stop! Not a huge property inside but it is stocked extremely well with goods for the more common family pets but they also have feed and supplies for many other types of animals, inlcuding the farm variety. Their other location on the Jefferson Hwy. has a more agricultural slant and also has gardening items like pine needle mulch, yard art, and live plants. Shop locally owned stores like this!
