I believe that Dr Sagrera has a lot of knowledge and can help our pets. I really want to be able to see her and like her but her methods are a bit rough, unorganized and confusing. It's difficult to make it through an appointment without many interruptions by the office staff and her email reading during your appointment. She will scoff at you and reprimand you. You have to wait awhile as well even though your early for your appointment. To correspond with her after your appointment you have to email. The answers and responses come days later and are not logical, like the info is all over the place. AS stated before, She has the capacity to help our pets but everything is just hard to deal with. read more

This lady is a NUT !!! Beware . Receptionists and techs were very polite and respectful. Owner is rude beyond belief. I had to walk out . Didn't even get through the full consultation for a new patient - that being my dog of course. I'll spare the details . It's almost irrelevant bc the visit was so short . I'm not sure why she was so rude to me but it was absolutely ridiculous the way she spoke to me with a condescending tone and practically rolling her eyes at me and scoffing every time I answered a question. Good luck . I warned you. If I could separately rate the receptionist, I would give her five stars however the owner gets none from me . If your pet is elderly she takes the utmost care to not overly medicate with unnecessary medication. Other vets only seem to care for profit from too many vaccines... My 12 year old black-furred kitty, Lulu, had a terrible cancerous squamous cell carcinoma/injection site tumor, on her neck. The poor kitty had nervous issues and this oozing sore, along with a habit of ripping out her fur. Lulu often didn't smell fresh, often had tummy troubles, and her coat was thin, dull, and turning brown. Dr. Segrara literally saved Lulu's life. Dr. Segrara frankly let me know that the only way to stop the tumor was to cut it off. Dr. Segrara did the surgery very humanely and thoroughly to ensure the tumor would not return. After 1.5 months of healing and loving attention and care from Dr. Segrera, Lulu was well-healed and happier, calmer, and healthier than I've ever seen her. Dr. Segrara also changed Lulu's diet, as she may have been allergic to her previous food. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Segrera and the wonderful health she returned to Lulu's life. I have been Dr Sagrera's client, and my animals her patients, since she started her holistic practice. I consider her the first, last, and best word on any treatment. I truly believe in homeopathy as I have seen it bring about amazing cures. If you want, you can read a couple stories here. Found on the streets of Mobile, a 9 year old sheltie came to live with me in November 2017. He scratched CONSTANTLY. I tried everything: medicated shampoos, itch sprays, and of course spot-on treatments did not stop the scratching. After a few months, I asked Dr S if there was possibly a homeopathic treatment. Yes. I gave him the homeopathic med as advised, and he stopped scratching. To me, it was a miracle. Another story: this same dog is prone to hot spots. Yikes! I would often find one or two when I was rubbing or scratching him. Hot spots require treatment; they don't go away on their own. Now, thanks to the Doc, my sweet boy is healthy. I don't find hot spots anymore: he's healing them himself! He is older now and has a coughing condition called collapsing trachea. Turns out a homeopathic remedy has been the best thing for him. He went from constant coughing to only sometimes, and not at all when he's resting. A sheltie I had in the 90's got hold of some rat poison, but we didn't know until he showed symptoms. I chose Dr Sagrera's treatment over traditional. In two or three months, he was well. Today, I had the most unbelievable vet experience. Ever. And I'm so, SO grateful to the person who told me about this doctor. Her approach is unlike anything I've ever experienced. There are no scary metal examining tables; instead, there's a rug on the floor and a rocking chair. The exam rooms are friendly, comforting, full of toys, and you let your cat(s) (or dog, if you're not a crazy cat lady like me) roam free, which is SO much less stressful than trying to keep them on a table. Less stressful for you AND your pet. Talking with this doctor, I learned a ton about my cat's health, stuff I've never heard from a vet before in my life. Honestly, I wish *I* had healthcare options of this caliber. Natural Pet Care is probably the highest quality healthcare available in New Orleans. Which is kind of sad, but awesome for my cats. As it turns out, my cats don't eat plastic because it is crunchy and it annoys me, but rather because they're missing a nutrient in their diet. There's beef tallow or something in plastic, hence they try to eat it. Now, they're getting fish oil supplements with their food, so the plastic eating should stop. One of my kitties has this chronic cough, and other vets I've taken her to recommend expensive, invasive, traumatizing tests to "rule out" rare diseases such as heartworm and the like. (They're inside cats, it's almost impossible for them to have heartworm.) I was never able to subject my cat to these tests, because other than an occasional coughing spell, she's totally fine. She's happy, she's playful, she's eating and drinking, she shows no outward signs of distress. Now, thanks to my new vet, I've got a homeopathic remedy for her cough, which is the result of allergies. She's simply allergic to dust, and it's exacerbated by the fact that my roommate continues to smoke in the house, even though I've asked him not to. But I digress. Overall, I feel like I'm much better equipped to care for my pets, and I cannot recommend this vet highly enough. This place and dr. Sagrera are truly incredible and affordable. My dog was suffering from licking and itching and other vets thought it was clearly allergies, but when I went to natural pet care and Dr.sagrera immediately did a full exam and was so keen on noting that my dog was licking just his abdomen and that he might have an intestinal parasite. She ended up being correct. She immediately treated his worms and was so kind and helpful and attentive. This doctor is a genius ! read more

Dr. Segrara is by far the best vet that I have ever come across. She is direct, compassionate and brilliant. I have lived in 3 States and have tried well over 10 vets during my cat's almost 20 year lifespan. My little attack cat was a special case and not many vets knew how to handle her. Dr. Segrara understood her nature and found ways to handle her. Dr. Segrara had saved her once when another vet said that she couldn't be saved. This was 3 - 4 years ago. Recently, my cat (Amber) went downhill and the vets in my hometown (Nashville) put her on meds that made everything worse and then just plain didn't know what to do. I thought it was time for her to pass but called Dr. Segrara. She was compassionate, changed her meds and asked for regular updates to track her and get her well. Amber got better and even played with her toys again. It was great to see! I trust Dr. Segrara more than any vet I've known. She is direct and works way to hard and makes a big difference. She did to me and to Amber. Amber has recently passed. I will always treasure the extra time that Dr. Segrara gave me with my girl. No matter what State I am in, she will be my vet if I ever get a pet again. I will never forget her gift. She is a treasure. read more

My experience at Natural Pet Care was not my favorite vet experience. Dr. Adriana Sagrera was 20 minutes late to our appointment, not even in the building she was just not there. At first a little annoyed i didn't mind much. When she arrived i started going through my pets symptoms and what other vets have said about them. We had our regular vet send a fax of all of our pet's information and what she had found. Dr. Sagrera seemed to have no idea why our pet was there and it was clear that she had never read the file our regular vet had sent; no preparation at all for our visit. After reading the file, that she initially claimed she never received, her attitude toward the other vets' opinions and what they were medicating my pet with was, that she had never heard of those veterinarians so they must not be good. She then proceeded to look at my pet herself and said, "What the hell is that?" while investigating and proceeded without explaining anything she was finding. While asking about my pets home-life she was very short and rude. If I couldn't remember something about one of my pets symptoms, she seemed annoyed and even responded with "Duh!" at one of our questions. When she was on the computer looking through a software that tells her what medicines to give. It told her to give a certain one that she said doesn't even work. At this point I had little confidence in her ability to successfully treat my pet. In the middle of our visit while she was still asking about symptoms she said would you excuse me since i was late for you now i have other people waiting that i need to see could you wait....? By this time I was really annoyed at how unprofessional she had been. When she came back in 20 minutes later she seemed to be rushing and overwhelmed that her patients were piling up. She eventually gave us some medicine and food saying it might help it might not and to let her know what happens... I really want to be optimistic maybe she is a good vet and we caught her on a bad day. I hope the remedies she gave us help our little buddy get better. To make a long story short her bedside manner needs work. I wouldn't recommend Natural Pet Care. read more

I have known Dr. Sagrera since about the mid 90's when I was rescuing abandoned and abused cats some of which were seriously ill. I have counted my blessings ever since. No matter where I have moved, I have stayed in contact with her and her phone consults have kept all my fur babies healthy and happy. I avoid the vets where I have lived as I have had some very bad experiences and again, am thankful Dr. Sagrerea was only a phone call away. Her staff is also excellent. Dr. Sagrera and her staff have been patient with me--often I get overly emotional about my fur babies--but they always calm me down and get me back on track. Even now, after some 17 years, I still consider her my primary vet. I now live in mid Texas, some 10 1/2 hours away, but this week end, I will drive our dog to see Dr. Sagrerea to have her teeth cleaned and a check up. I know once I leave, I will have all the information I need to make sure my Pup stays healthy. I thank Dr. Sagrerea and her staff for all they have done over the years. Colette read more

Dr Sagrera is by far the most competent, caring and truly extraordinary vet that I've ever used. We need more like her as what she does is truly special; she restores the animal's natural balance so that they are healthy and happy- just as we would wish to be- without drugs and surgery which is all the traditional vets seem to offer as do Doctors to us. This is the only way for anyone that loves their animal and values the quality of their life to go- we can benefit as well from this approach. Her staff is amazing and helpful, the setting is homey and comforting to the animals.
