She basically left the room typed up her notes and the admin handed the notes to me on the way out the door. This place is an absolute joke and the care is reckless. I should've heeded the warnings from others. I came to get a fast flu test (because, as I told the front desk:) my daughter just tested + & I just started getting symptoms so I wanted to start Tamiflu right away (since you have to start it within the first 3 days of symptoms). I waited. I then got improperly swabbed (she took 2 seconds in one nostril and barely touched the wall of my nose). I mentioned my concern at this and she dismissed me. I then waited in a room for a doctor, for awhile. Staring at the dingy cabinets and trying not to touch anything. (It was pretty gross in there - see picture). As I waited, I could hear them laughing and carrying on and on in the hall. I waited some more. I finally got fed up and went to go express my concern with the swab test and maybe get another one done (which was the whole point of me being there). Again I was dismissed. I asked if the results were back from the first one yet and she said no it will take 3 to 5 days. I was stunned. I *again* explained why I was there, a doctor finally appeared and kept interrupting me and not listening - telling me I could just get a covid rapid test at the pharmacy. AGAIN I explained my need to test quickly for flu. She flatly told me "oh, well we don't do rapid flu tests" - Well THAT would've been helpful to know an hour ago when I first got there (right when they opened I should mention). I just turned and walked out. They wasted so much of my time, I'm $35 down for no reason, and I still won't know if I have the flu in time to get started on medication to shorten it. Annoyed is an understatement. You are much better off waiting for your primary care doctor, going to ER, or finding a better urgent care. You've been warned. read more

I was having terrible ear pain when i visited the flourtown urgent care office. Sadly, i met A lazy employee who refused to check me in because she claimed my insurance card "expired." She insisted my insurance was active but I had to get a new card to be seen. I not only had the same insurance for 20 years I had no idea what she was talking about. She wasn't kidding because she denied me. I was forced to go to Chestnut hill hospital. I was seen in under an hour (thank God) and the insurance registration rep confirmed all IBX card holder cards expired HOWEVER ALL MEDICAL FACILITIES HAVE ACCESS TO THE NEW CARD NUMBERS. In other words, the lazy woman from urgent care didn't want to find it. I was able to call my insurance company the following day and I am now waiting on new cards. I love this place and most of the staff! My PCP's office stopped seeing sick patients in the office during covid, and it is 45 min away from where I now live, so this Urgent Care office has become my honorary PCP. The place is prompt, the medical assistants are competent, and most of the doctors are great, especially Dr. O. I feel they take the time to really talk with me and listen to my issues and symptoms and don't just dismiss or negate my concerns. I've been here mostly for sinus infections and a UTI. They do some tests in-house and are very prompt with paperwork and getting meds to my pharmacy immediately. They even follow up with a phone call to make sure meds are working as expected. I guess businesses especially health should chiefly be rated for covid safety at this moment and in this respect alarm bells should go off. They do covid testing here indoors in any exam room so if you go in for something else you can definitely be exposed. I would say you might be safer going to a regular ER. Second critique for accuracy they take your temp orally so you have to take your mask off. Not great. Third thing, they were quite polite to me until I started to ask for specific things. I went in for a bone break x-ray and they took a lot of weird angles but not directly above where it hurt. When I asked for that view I got sarcasm. Basically asking if I am a doc. I later asked to see the pictures they acted like it was a weird request, and again asked what meaning it could possibly have if I am not a doc. I think it's a very normal request, they show you the x-ray and show you why everything is fine or where the break is. It felt dismissive and simplistic. Anyway, I don't agree that they are terribly rude but I do feel that they are not used to curious patients. I absolutely hate the fact that I'm Yelp reviewing a flipping urgent care but I was so put off today by my experience and quite frankly angered that I felt the need to share. I regret not saying something in person about the unsatisfactory professionalism happening but this is the best i can do. I went in this morning to be seen about a swollen ankle, possible infection wasn't really sure (hence me seeking medical help) and when I arrived I checked in no problem and was sitting in the waiting area along with another man who was also waiting. While I was waiting a young woman and what seemed to be her mom walked in the door and the male nurse behind the desk abruptly stopped and asked how old the girl was. She said she was 22 and he then says "well mom or whatever is going to have to wait outside" (covid times, minimal people in the waiting room, I get it, I support it, cool.) The girl was there to get blood drawn for testing and mentioned someone faxed over what she needed and she was rudely interrupted by the woman nurse and she says "the fax machine isn't working" as if this girl was supposed to know that. So after going back and forth for a few minutes and seeming like they couldn't administer one of the tests there, the girl walked out. At this point I was mortified for her because of the way they treated her. Shortly after her mom walked in asking to explain what they said because her daughter didn't quite understand. They explained everything and the two left for good. The second they walked out... and I quote, the male nurse says to his coworker "so what... she didn't understand English?" And then continues to BASH this young woman to the other nurse talking about how she was 22 and had to have her "mommy" come with her to a doctor appointment. This went on for a few minutes and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Eventually this male nurse called me to come back and check my vitals. I asked him some medical related questions and he made me feel like an idiot for asking. Whatever it's fine, he left the room and I waited for my doctor. Mind you, my ankle is swollen double the size, red, irritated and doesn't look in the least bit okay. The doctor comes in and greets me with an attitude that seemed like she didn't even want to be there. Tough shit, we all have days like that. She examines me and tells me she doesn't think it's infected and tells me to ice it, elevate it, and if it gets worse in a couple days to come back.... The day goes by and my ankle does get worse. I wasted no time and went to a different doctor elsewhere and was diagnosed with an infection and treated with meds. Never will i go back to that urgent care (not my first time there either) nor would I recommend anyone to seek any type of medical help from there. read more

I visited on two different occasions, three weeks apart, within the past month. Each time the doctor ordered a specimen to be cultured. Both times the specimen was lost. When I called for the results, Urgent Care had to check with the lab who told them the samples were never received. I was told I could come back in and they would redo the test, but I will just follow up with my Primary Care doctor instead. Both doctors I saw were great and the wait time was minimal. I will never go here again or recommend this facility. I went there 2 weeks ago because poison ivy had broken out on my face and my sons wedding was a week away. This happens every 2 or 3 years. I know I needed oral steroids to do their magic. The Dr would not prescribe this for me because of sides effects which he told me could be hip fractures! He also said I had a small break out & topical would be enough. Now I know that poison ivy does not "technically " spread but it does and did continue to pop out all over. I know what I needed and he did not care. My doctor 2 days later prescribed what I needed and it cleared up sufficiently for the wedding but the delay caused more "spreading" and anxiety on my part. I went to this urgent care when I sliced my finger with a kitchen knife. I was fairly cerain that I would need stitches. The only reason I gave one star was because I walked in 15 mins before closing and did not turn me away. I got about halfway through filling out the initial paperwork, when I was directed to go back to a room for care. The receptionist said not to worry about filling the rest out. The doctor that I saw said I did not need stitches, so I got a welll wrapped finger and some bandaids to use at home. The next day, I was still bleeding...through the layers that were applied the night before. Since I work in a school, I went to ask the school nurse if she could re-wrap my finger. The nurse was concerned it was still bleeding the amount that it was a said I should call back and ask to go back in to have it fixed and should not be charged. After placing a call and waiting for a call-back from the doctor working that day, I was directed to go back in and told I would not be charged another fee. The doctor on call did not think I needed stitches either, which was fine. They are the doctors. Fast forward a few weeks later and I kept getting notices in the mail to pay an additional copay (which is $70 for me). I've called to complain numerous times, I've disputed the credit collections that are coming and now have been told I need to pay. So $140 for some wrapping and bandaids in my finger. Needless to say, I will NOT visit here again. read more

I was seen as a walk in appointment today at 705 pm because I thought I broke my foot and needed Xray asap. As a physician, I know quality health care when I see it. The professionalism of the front desk staff was outstanding and their positive demeanor put a smile on my face even though I was in pain. Renata is compassionate and efficient. She quickly processed my health insurance information and entered me into an electronic medical records I was taken into Xray within 15 minutes and the results were read by a radiologist at Abington by 740pm. I was splinted, booted, and given instructions for an ortho consult by 750pm. They efficiently handled 4 patients between 7pm and 8 pm and everyone was gone when I left at 755pm. Disappointed in the lack of transparency. I live around the corner and I had horrible flu like symptoms for days I could barely move. I called with fear of being stuck in a waiting room for hours and the man on the phone told me it was a ten minute wait. I arrived ten minutes after that to find a room full of people. They were not taking people in the order they arrived. I understand you can't predict but I find it hard to believe it changed that much between my call and my arrival and If it did I should have been told upon my entrance what the expected wait time would be. The front desk seemed completely disorganized and could not keep track of whose information was whose. Now here I am sitting for over an hour with still no idea when I am going to be seen. I will be not be coming back. Jefferson should not place their name on such a unprofessional establishment. In today's world transparency is key, most people will understand long waits if they are given a reason and a realistic wait time. Nope, nope, and nope! Took my 13 yr old in with a rash on his face, and after waiting an hour to be seen we were told it was shingles. As a nurse, I felt like there were a million reasons why this was not shingles, and voiced my suspicions to the "doctor". He insisted it was shingles, insisted on following up with an ophthalmologist because a blotch of the rash was in my son's eyebrow, and started him on a prednisone taper and acyclovir liquid. I filled the prednisone, ditched the acyclovir and followed up a few days later with the pediatrician who confirmed that there were several blatant reasons as to why this was not shingles, and assured me it was a simple dermatitis. I will never go back to this place, as the doc was very nice but not educated enough for me to feel comfortable in seeking treatment here again. read more

On January 3, my son broke 3 bones in his foot skateboarding, and we went to this site for care as it was closest, even though I knew the reviews weren't very good. We waited for about 40 minutes, which seemed like an eternity at the time, but relatively speaking wasn't that bad. As soon as they did take my son, however, the care was professional, friendly and speedy by medical care standards. The docs and nurses were all caring and helpful toward my son, acknowledging the tremendous amount of pain he was in and taking good care to deal gently with his foot. They X-rayed and splinted him, gave him an Rx for his pain, and instructions to go to our normal orthopedist the next day. Exactly the right care for the situation. Based on that experience I would go back again. read more

Bait-and-switch pricing and false advertising!! I visited this urgent care center in October 2019 and checked the "Self-pay visit prices" on the Abington Jefferson - Flourtown location website, which showed visit prices ranging from $99 - $139. I asked before the visit what the pricing would be just to confirm, and they told me the price lists were on the website. A few weeks later, I received a bill for $245! When I called and spoke with the billing department, they informed me that they raised their prices effective September 1, 2019, but that their website had not been updated. I tried to escalate this matter through their billing department, but they just gave me a run-around and I kept getting nowhere. I am now going to suck it up and pay this bill because I don't want them sending me to collections. But this is FALSE ADVERTISING and the public should BE WARNED of the dishonest billing practices this clinic conducts. Also, by the way, it's now December 23, 2019, and I just re-checked the website, and it still shows the same old prices. Beware!! read more

Walked in on a sunday with abdominal pain. Was told to take a zantac or go to the emergency room by the receptionist after they spoke with the doctor. Never saw doctor. Went to Patient First Abington. Turns out it was chest pain (yup don't know my chest from my abdomen) and was sent to E.R. where I was kept overnight. Thank goodness I didn't go home and take a zantac. Spoke to nurse about my experience at Abington Health Urgent Care Center and she said that it was malpractice for the doctor to offer advice without even seeing me. If you need care, I highly recommend Patient First, they saw me in minutes, were nice, professional, did on-site blood work, ekg etc. My doctor was awesome! read more

I took my Mom to Urgent Care in Flourtown and she was left literally leaving in tears. Dr. Packer is the least professional individual I have ever encountered. She introduced herself and then within the same breath had my Mom stand up, objectified her by looking her up and down, and without any further investigation promptly informed my Mom that her back pain was because of her weight. I know weight is a touchy subject, but there's a right way and a wrong way to tell someone their weight might be a factor in their pain, and if that's true, then it's also true that there is a horrible, crude way to tell someone that their weight may be a factor in their pain- and that's the sweet spot Dr. Packer hit. She then proceeded to make my Mom do all sorts of physical activities that she could barely do (my Mom was in so much back pain she could barely stand up or sit down) and continued to berate my Mom for not doing the tasks in a quick or efficient enough manner for Dr. Packer. Dr. Packer's rudeness didn't stop there- she didn't hide the fact that she thought my mother was lying about her pain in order to get medication. She left my Mom feeling judged, embarrassed, and like no one was there to help her. Everything about the visit to Urgent Care in Flourtown was a disaster. We were waiting so long that I finished a book. Not that that necessarily means Urgent Care is bad- we were expecting to be waiting- but to wait as long as we did and then be treated with nothing but malice and incompetence when we should have been treated with compassion and kindness made this visit an absolute useless waste of time. That's the kind of doctor Dr. Packer is- a useless judgemental mean spirited woman. I wish I could give this zero stars!! read more
