Barb needed a thorough eye exam because of the damage plaquenil can cause on the eyes especially blindness. Dr. Bellotte had an amazing amount of positive reviews online. We were very impressed with the waiting area and the well organized check-in process. When Barb was called into the exam process, she underwent a variety of tests on a wide variety of eye testing hardware. The team member, Meghan, was very caring and explained each test to us. We understood what was being collected and why. We appreciated what we learned vs being kept in the dark and uninformed which has been my experience with most medical testing. Barb's eye pressures were tested a couple of times. When Dr. Bellotte can into the exam room, we found out why. Dr. Bellotte was very thorough going over all the tests and providing results in non technical human language. His team found that Barb's eye pressures are very high. Barb is sufferring from glaucoma which could lead to a loss of her eye sight if not treated. We also learned that we should inform our children because this condition could be passed on to them. Another thing that our kids can complain about when they are angry with us. Dr. Bellotte's genuine concern for Barb's condition was very appreciated. We felt very comforted by his manner. I could see that Dr. Bellotte put Barb at ease as he explained how he could make things better for her eyesight. Dr. Bellotte explained that he could provide treatment in his office with an eye 'degunking" laser. It would be several treatments but her eye pressures would be in normal ranges. Barb also was provided a treatment plan for helping her overcome dry eye issues. Thanks to Dr Bellotte and his team for helping Barb avoid a loss of her eyesight. I definitely learned today how precious eyesight is and how you can lose it by not having the right care. I highly recommend Dr. Bellotte and his team!

As soon as that was done, Dr. Oppenheimer saw me. She checked my eyes and put in new plugs which usually last three months and then they disintegrate. There was absolutely no pain involved and when I walked out, I could see again. She is gentle, caring, and very professional. I am in good hands and happy that this process is working for me.

They are short handed and apparently only speak with new patients (to schedule) on Fridays. I had to leave my name and they would call me on Fridays. Unfortunately, that did not happen so I called back the next week and was told the same thing - - I decided to give it one more try and finally on Friday I did receive a call. I finally got an appointment but on the day, Dr. Lam was unable to be in the office so my appointment was canceled. I called back and got another appointment and I'm glad I persevered. Once I was there, I met the most gracious office personnel. The technologists were extremely kind and thorough. Nobody rushed me through anything. Everyone cared about how I was feeling at the time. I have a number of tests that I must do annually so my appointments usually take a long time - - this was a pleasure. When Dr Lam came in, he explained everything to me and answered absolutely all of my questions. One week later I had to go back for a procedure that sounded a bit scary. Again, Dr Lam answered all of my questions - - the procedure was NO BIG DEAL -- I say that in caps because I do NOT like people touching my eyes!
