He explains everything in terms that one understands, and his staff of Juliana, Corinthia and Katie are also great, as well as they are super helpful whenever one has questions for Dr. Johnson. Their medical office is also super clean. I would have given Dr. Johnson and his staff a 10 star rating if I could have. Thank you again to Dr. Johnson and to his exceptional staff!!

I was armed with not one, but two MRIs from other doctors, ready to hear the dreaded "Let's schedule surgery" speech. Instead, I met with a genuine, down to earth, personable doctor that actually listened to all my complaints and I mean all of them lol. Not just "my back hurts," but also my entire medical history. Dr. Desaloms already has my MRIs up on a giant screen ready to review my issues. This office clearly invests in top-notch technology, and it shows. Love his PA Stephanie (extra bonus points for having her in his back pocket!). He's not the kind of neurosurgeon who pushes surgery just because he can. I may need it someday, but right now he's focused on what's best for me. That kind of organic, patient-first approach is rare. The entire staff at Dallas Neurosurgical and Spine, from the front desk, tech, PA to billing -- were exceptional people who obviously enjoy (and love) their jobs!

PLEASE WATCH YOUR BILLS WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. I…read morewas referred to this practice because we thought I was going to have to have surgery on a broken foot. I had two broken bones. My first appointment was August 13, 2024. Soon after, I received a bill. Upon reviewing the bill, I realized that they had charged me twice, for an amount of $1949.00, for surgery. AGAIN, THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT. After calling NUMEROUS TIMES (at least 10), I was able to speak with someone. I told her that I had been charged, two times, for a procedure/surgery that I didn't receive. This woman asks me, "Are you sure you didn't have surgery"? I reminded her that it had been my first visit. She said she'd handle it. I feel like it is also important to note that on top of the $3898.00 for surgeries that never happened, I was also charged $294 for x-rays and another $1463.00 for a new patient visit. So, this was not a cheap visit; even without the charge for the surgeries. A few weeks later, I get another bill. I believe it was for the EXACT AMOUNT of the previous bill. This time, instead of charging me twice for surgery, they replaced it with a billing code of 28470 (Treat Metatarsal Fracture), for the EXACT SAME AMOUNT THAT I'D BEEN CHARGED FOR SURGERY. Again, I was charged this amount TWICE. I did some research, and I don't believe that this is correct. So, I called the 855 number, for billing, listed at the bottom of the bill. I really don't believe this call center is in the United States. There was a huge language barrier, and I've spoken to several people here, and they know as much about billing as I do. I believe I spoke with three different people in this call center. I ended up wasting about an hour. Eventually, I started calling the office again. I've had to call them NO LESS THAN EIGHT TIMES. This is a low-ball estimate, because I don't want to exaggerate. I was finally able to get in contact with someone (a manager) on Wednesday October 23, 2024, after my 6th call of the day. I explained the situation to her, in its entirety. She said she understood. It was late Wednesday afternoon, and she promised to call, with a solution, on the next day. I asked her if she was sure and told her that she could take more time if needed. She ASSURED me that she would call me back the next day, which would have been Thursday October 24, 2024. Needless to say, I didn't receive a call. I called them, again, on Friday October 25, 2024. I was told that she was in a meeting, and that they would have her call me back. It is now after 5:30 on Monday October 28, 2024, and I've still yet to receive a call. I'm now over it and considering hiring an attorney.

For months, I couldn't sleep properly, work out, or even sit through college lectures without severe pain. From the very first consultation, Dr. Derman and his team reassured me that I would be taken care of--and the results speak for themselves. Dr. Derman performs a minimally invasive endoscopic discectomy, and his technique is truly exceptional. I now have a tiny scar, less than 10mm, and I'm completely pain-free just six weeks after surgery. If you're looking for the right surgeon for a disc injury, look no further--Dr. Derman is the best!

If you've ever hesitated to visit a spine doc for fear of being rushed into unnecessary surgery,…read morethis review is for you :) I came to Dr. Derman after two of the worst months of my life. Severe sciatica and relentless low back pain made me nearly immobile. I often collapsed between my bed or couch, just standing long enough to cook breakfast felt impossible, and none of my usual remedies (PT, chiro, acupuncture, massage, cupping, etc.) helped. The hopelessness pushed me to a very dark place. After hitting a breaking point with a couple visits to the ER offering no relief, I finally took a friend's advice and saw Dr. Derman. I arrived desperate for any solution to end my suffering - cutting my leg off, ripping my spine out, burning every nerve in my lower body, all of the above...or actual surgery lol. Dr. Derman patiently reviewed my imaging, explained his findings, answered my questions, and identified a herniated L5-S1 disc with uniquely shaped extruded material hammering a nerve center - a perfect storm for maximum suffering. The relief of finally understanding the problem was immense. Although he explained that surgery was a real option if I wanted it, he encouraged me to try one last non-surgical approach: an injection and targeted PT. He told me, "the best surgery is no surgery at all," and reassured me my quality of life mattered so there wasn't a need to compromise if I didn't get back to where I needed to be. Reluctantly, I agreed. It's been 2.5 months and, with continued non-invasive treatment, I'm still improving week by week. If I'd seen anyone else, I likely would've been rushed to surgery and charged an expedite fee. Dr. Derman took the time to evaluate, educate, and propose a thoughtful, conservative plan - something rare and invaluable. You only get one first back surgery, and thanks to Dr. Derman, I may have been able to delay it for good. Don't wait until you're at your wits end. Go see him, knowing that relief is out there for you.

This location is no longer open…read more Oh I am so excited to be writing this review. First, I appreciate the ability the fire hostile clients. I was not a hostile client. Was I fired because I hurt Sorin's ego, or was it because my sister wrote a bad review of HER experience? I have been a patient of NTINH for over a decade, and in the approximately 50-80 appointments, I was late by 5 minutes one time, and missed 1 appointment due to Apple's "wonderful" update that turns off the alarm sound if you move your phone. I paid the no-show fee without complaint as it was my fault. Second, I received a "certified mail/registered return receipt" that was absolutely not sent by either, I received it by plain, regular first class mail. Lying seems to be second nature to NTINH. I recently started Botox to treat my migraines. It has been, administratively, a nightmare. There was no pamphlet to explain what to expect or how it works. No one ever provided me with the paper aftercare instructions; I had to pick them up myself at the 6-week follow-up. Each time I scheduled an appointment, I was called before my appointment and told that I needed to move my appointment as Paige wasn't available on those days. Both times, the length of time between the call and my new appointment was too short for me to request an update to my time off, and I then had to involve my manager, making everything twice as complicated. Physically, my second Botox appointment was with Sorin (who was very condescending), and it was so much more painful than Ms Wolfe. The front desk staff, particularly in the Plano location, seem not to have evolved beyond high school mean girls. Elaine Timm is one of the meanest doctors I have ever dealt with. That sounds juvenile but holy God was she awful. Every time I went I dreaded going, and ended up with a stress migraine/headache. She withheld useful pain management information for over a year for some unknown reason. The only useful thing she did was suggest Ajovy/Aimovig, otherwise I stayed at status quo for the entire time I was with her. Frankly, the one star is because I have to and because Dr El-Hag was quite kind.
