Dr Korchek is fabulous but the office staff is incompetent. They're on a new computer system and are unable to leave a message for ANY Dr. HOW ABOUT PEN AND PAPER DUMMIES?????? The blonde at check out was totally lost on that concept. She suggested she could move my appt in 2 weeks to next month and I could tell him then that physical therapy mill upstairs wouldn't see me because of their outrageous requirements. Another said I should send him a message on the patient portal and I explained I couldn't because they hadn't listed him as one of my providers. Their eyes crossed. Out of the 5 women at the front area, not one of them even connected with the dr's nurse to find a fix because the dr was out. I cancelled all 3 of this month's dr appts immediately. read more

I really like Dr Korchek. I found him after researching on Health Grades after breaking my wrist on NYE 2020. The ER wrapped me up but o needed someone to set it as soon as possible. I left a message over the weekend, hoping they'd be able to get a new patient in that week and i was actually called over the weekend by the front staff. She was so kind and friendly and got me in Monday morning where Dr K set my wrist and explained everything. I was in so much pain and disbelief that I actually broke a bone but the Dr and staff took great care of me! Over the next several months they tended to me and i healed up pretty amazing. Rude doctor who rushes through his examination. He acts like he can't wait to get out of the room and that his time is being wasted.

What a cool doctor! I went to see Dr. Korchek due to an unfortunate accident I was involved in, I heard great things about him and it was not an exaggeration. He is kind, thoughtful and just a cool guy, he made me feel comfortable even with my fractured collar bone, he is thorough and gives sound options or alternatives on the best treatment possible for the case at hand. After a couple of weeks on a sling, a shoulder brace proved to be a much better alternative which makes me utilize my Left arm and hand much better not to mention a better probability of my clavicle healing properly. If due to some unfortunate incident/accident you find yourself looking for a good orthopedic doctor, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Korchek, his clinic is conveniently located along Riverside Dr. by Studio City, they accept PPO Ins., nice office, cool staff, they have parking at the back, most of all, you'll feel at ease in his competent hands. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Korchek for almost 12 years. I procrastinated on getting my knee replacement for 6 years because Of my own fear of a lengthy recovery time. Now I know why I avoid doctors like the plague. This doctor definitely knows his stuff, of that I cannot complain. But he has no bedside manner; he is not warm whatsoever. He barely greeted me. This person does not really listen to people. He is business like and professional He does not seem to be a very compassionate human. AVOID DR. KORCHEK. He doesn't listen, doesn't care, and is in a big hurry. I went to see Dr. Korchek 3 weeks after a major car accident - and was suffering from extreme pain in my shoulder, chest, and neck. I also had a prior shoulder injury that was made worse by the accident, along with a lot of tissue and ligament damage all over my body. I waited for 1 1/2 hours to get x-rays, and then another 30 minutes until Dr. Korchek finally showed up. His primary focus seemed to be how fast he could get out of the room and shuffle me along. He ran me through a quick series of tests - moving my arms in different directions - and was moving so quickly and clumsily, that at one point, he pulled my arm back and caused shooting pain where I was injured. But it didn't even register with him, he was moving so quickly. He never asked me about he car accident - and seemed to assume that it was a mere fender-bender, as opposed to the major impact that it was. (A van t-boned our car at 60mph.) He would ask me questions, but cut me off before I was able to answer them. He was literally speed-talking through his questions, and really didn't seem to care what my answers were. When he found out that an MRI I had received BEFORE THE CAR CRASH for a prior shoulder injury was inconclusive, he told me, "There's nothing wrong with your shoulder." When I told him that there obviously was something wrong with my shoulder since I could no longer use my left arm (not to swim, catch, lift, anything... BTW, I'm 37 and I've been active all of my life, was a former state soccer MVP, Mogul Skiing Champion, etc.), he turned combative and acted like I was lying about severity of the issue. Ultimately, he prescribed me a steroid and more pain pills. Then he shuffled me out of the room toward the receptionist. They wanted to schedule me for a 3 week check-up. I didn't see the point. I'll eventually find somebody that can help me get healthy again. Dr. Korchek is not that person. I had found other orthopedists that I had wanted to go see that weren't contracted with my primary provider. I'll pay the extra money for better care. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS. read more

Clearly the other reviews have either never been to a doctor in a long time or have it over sense of self importance. I have personally been in and out of doctors office for the last five years and find this trend of 15 minutes of triage typical. Dr. Korchek and his staff are total professionals. I tore my ACL playing soccer and he and his staff helped get me back on my feet as soon as possible. He takes the time to discuss with you pre-operative and post your prognosis, what he will do and where he expects you to be to help get you there with physical therapy and training. He has a wide and diverse client base which aids in your rehabilitation and his understanding of where you want and need to be post operative and what you can expect during your recovery. All of his staff are knowledgeable, down to earth, friendly and courteous. I was hesitant at first based on other reviews but now, I really do not know where those other people are coming from. Went in to see Dr. Korchek for the first time because I've been having back pain. I'm a 25 year old female pole dancer and camera assistant. They took X Rays of my whole back after I pressed them to do so. Then Dr. Korchek rushed me in and out basically. Told me I'm healthy and gave me a packet of exercises for the elderly. I paid a copay of $50 and just got a bill for $224 more. This dude charges $580 for ten minutes of consultation. Will not be back, what a waste of money. read more

Dr. Korchek is a very rude doctor. He does not have any bedside manner at all. He was in a big rush and talked 100 miles a second and didn't listen to anything I had to say. He acted like he couldn't wait to get out of the room. He talked over me every time I attempted to answer or ask a question! He was very rude and condescending and argumentive to say the least. He seemed more like an attorney than a doctor because he had such a seriously mean look on his face the entire time I was there. Unbelievable! I don't feel like I had a "real" examination and I am definitely going to schedule an appointment with a real doctor that actually cares! What a waste of time Dr. Korchek is. I can't understand all the negative reviews! I started seeing Dr Korchek a couple of years ago because of the deterioration of my right hip. He was always very straightforward, and explained things so i could understand easily. He's got a great sense of humor. His staff is really nice and always make you comfortable as well. When things finally got so i needed surgery, the doctor did a wonderful job, and I am so glad i had this done, and done by someone who knows what they're doing. I just had my one-year check up, and it's better than ever. Hip replacements seem to run in my family, so I'm anticipating perhaps needing another one. Went to Dr Korchek with a broken hand last July after a mountain bike crash. Korchek was very careful to double check whether I would need surgery and luckily he was able to immobilize it in a clever cast and it healed great. I was back on my mountain bike pretty shortly after getting the cast off and my fingers have no changes in strength or range of motion. Dr Korchek was great to work with and quickly had me back in action. Awesome experience! read more

My experience Dr. Jeffrey Korchek was nothing less than outstanding. His analysis of my MRI and consideration of my injury was expert, and I believe that his consultation skills greatly made my decision to select him as my orthopedic surgeon very easy. That judgment was validated in that he performed the surgery with great skill and fortunately for me great results. My post-op experience was nearly pain free. His instructions are making for a very fast recovery. A week following the surgery he met with me to go over in great detail the extent of my injury and the steps he took in repairing my leg injury. By comparison, I had a surgery (also successful in the long run) from the 'famed' SCOI. That surgery was awful in terms of pain and length of required recovery to heal. There is no comparison. If having a great orthopedic doctor and surgeon is more important to you than what the morons think (see Reggie, Ellen, and Know it all), and your physical health is more important than a Starbucks coffee, then Dr. Korchek is the only physician you need to see. I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews. This doctor's office is just awful. The front desk staff lack education and the basic ability to communicate. They ask you the same questions over and over again and fail to take notes. There is never sharing of information amongst the staff - you will always have to repeat conversations. Dr. Korchek is a miserable excuse for a doctor. He is the rudest, most unsympathetic doctor I've ever seen in my life. He spends as little time with you as possible and lacks the care you expect from a health CARE provider. I will not being seeing this physician ever again. Wow. I have to say I'm surprised by the other reviews. I had been to see other knee specialist and felt like I was only there to help pay for their fancy office. Dr. Korchek has worked with me past the initial diagnosis by other doctors for a knee replacement, and has managed to help me completely handle the pain with Hyaluronic injections and a simple shoe insert. He recently spent over 50 minutes on the phone while I was there trying to help sort out a pharmacy/ insurance issue that was ultimately going to be very expensive for me. He even followed up later. He clearly cared that I got good service. He is very good natured while treating me, and I've always felt like I could discuss any and all aspects of my treatment with him. His staff and particularly Nurse Sonia are terrific! They are helpful when calling and always follow-up promptly. They also make navigating new insurance a lot easier. Dr. Korchek is totally professional. He takes all the necessary time to explain options, and surgery is a last resort. I had been suffering for a couple of decades with knee pain, and ultimately surgery was my only option having exhausted all others. Immediately following a total knee replacement surgery, there was no more pain, and I was off pain medications within two days. Following my discharge, Dr Korchek personally called me to see how I was progressing, His staff was always pleasant, efficient, and helpful, making sure all my needs were addressed.
