Jeff did a great job installing my new lighting fixtures. The work was done efficiently and nicely and the price is reasonable too.

I will start by saying that Jeff does quality work. We needed him to create an access hole in the wall, and then cover it with a door that looked equivalent to one installed by the home builder. He did a great job, and I couldn't tell the difference between the original and Jeff's version. Also he is fairly quick to respond (prefers text), and can make himself available relatively quickly. I also do appreciate that he just works without chit-chatting, especially because I was busy when he was over There are a few things that were preventing a 5 star review: -he is on the pricey side. The first day he was at our place, he charged $350 (no material required) for a little over an hour's worth of work. I'm still getting used to the higher pricing for labor in the NE, but I do think that is too much. His second visit was more reasonable though in $/ hour -he does leave the area quite messy (another review mentioned this). He does make an attempt to clean, but its not a great effort. We had to spend quite a while cleaning up. Related to this, he wears his boots inside without booties. That's reasonable (especially in my case where he was constantly going in and out to build stuff), but something to be aware of (we all take our shoes off inside the house for cleaniness reasons) In summary if you are okay with his prices, I'd recommend! read more

Jeff was great to work with, and a true perfectionist. We hired Jeff to come and replace two basement windows, and any old rotted wood framing. I wouldn't say Jeff is the typical handyman than can fix some stuff. Jeff is a seasoned pro. When he pulled up in his truck, I knew we were going to have a good experience. His truck had every piece of equipment you could need for any job. He setup shop right in the driveway. When we first met Jeff for the estimate he was very personable and friendly. On the day of the job, he was laser focused, but still friendly. Jeff arrived around 10am and didn't leave until the job was finished around 5pm. Along the way, he had discovered more rot. The entire window sill plate on both windows to the exterior were rotted, and the exterior window trim was rotting and water logged. Jeff pointed out the problems and was clear about what needed to be done. It cost me a little bit more, but after Jeff pointed it out to me, I knew it needed to be done. This caused Jeff more hours of work. At one point we asked if he had lunch, he said no. He never expected to be there so long. We offered food, but he said he wanted to keep working and would wait for dinner at home. Jeff is a true pro. He is focused, super thourough, does the job the way it should be without cutting corners, and cleans up. He left my basement cleaner than it was before he came. He swept everything, and took any old rotted wood, windows, bags of trash in his truck with him. My wife was so pleased. The windows came out great, the jobsite was left super clean, and Jeff was so nice to work with. He was also talking with my 3 year old who was over the moon seeing Jeff with tools. Jeff will be getting calls from me soon for more jobs! We have used many handymen over the years. All did an ok job, but nothing was impressive. Messes were left, the work was done very poorly. I hired Jeff based on the positive reviews on yelp, but sad to report that my experience has been negative. I asked him to fix multiple things around the house, and except for the electrical related items, everything else had an issue. Jeff installed a washlet in our powder room, and after 2 weeks, it started leaking and caused flooding in the basement. I hired a plumber to fix the leak and he also told me that the toilet was not bolted down properly. He showed me where Jeff just used caulk around the toilet base to stabilize the toilet. I asked Jeff to install new storm door closers. After he installed them, the storm door won't open fully. I asked Jeff to fix a front door lighting fixture and now it is falling again. I asked Jeff to spackle some cracks in the main bathroom and he did such a sloppy job. Worst of all, he made a lot of mess and didn't clean up after himself. He also left mud tracks all over my house. I also found him to very rude and obnoxious. Because I was kind enough to buy him lunch, he expected me to buy him dinner as well. He said his family ate without him because he thought he was having dinner at our house. What?! Earlier in the day, he actually asked me to go to Home Depot to pick up some materials to which I declined. Really? Leave a complete stranger in my house? He is definitely not worth the $150/hr he charges. Not to mention, what I had to pay the plumber to fix the disaster that he created. Hiring him was the biggest waste of money and I cannot possibly recommend him to anyone. read more
