If you want a easy, fun sail with great conversation, this is the charter for you. Both kids are seriously smart too! Be prepared for an in-depth conversation with plenty of solid points and questions, if you wish :-) While I could go on, I'll summarize - just book it. Our last sail was up in the air due to weather until the last minute and Dan was totally cool about playing it by ear. Weather broke and we ended up with a perfect late day sail. He went above and beyond what my local dealer would/could have done. Despite being hundreds of miles away from Thomaston, Pat treated me like I was his neighbor. Be prepared to have alternative plans…read more We had a night fireworks cruise cancelled for "weather" 36hrs in advance. No signs of inclement weather on any of the weather apps. As predicted, it turned out to be a Beautiful and calm night. We ended up watching the fireworks from shore. They contract out their crews so it may have been that something fell apart on that side for the night trip. Just be prepared that they may cancel for any reason. A local captain we met during the fireworks show in Camden surmised that there was likely something else besides the weather in their decision. Others in our party were committed to getting in a harbor tour so we ended up getting a day sail earlier in the day. It was a Beautiful day. Competent and friendly captain and crew. They did an excellent job of hosting the harbor tour. Absolutely Beautiful boat. Great way to spend some time on the water. Be prepared for alternative plans.

Captain Tyler made sure we had good sailing everyday -- even the one day it rained was fabulously relaxing! Captain Tyler led a crew of remarkable young people with a quiet confidence that was a pleasure to see. Also, I cannot say enough good things about Chef Marty and Galley Hand Jake -- the food for each meal was spectacular, featuring fresh local produce, a new soup every day for lunch, a variety of dinner entrees, and fresh baked goods every day. All prepared on a wood fired stove! We enjoyed our trip so much, we booked for next summer before we got off the boat!

Magnificent good and wholesome prepared from scratch by the Fabulous chef and pastry chef. Fresh made bread, scones, cake, cookies, etc at each meal and snacks. Food was excellently prepared and served. Captain Tyler, first mate Courtney and the rest of the crew were knowledgeable, efficient, hard-working, friendly, nice people. Very nice to be around and the rest of the guests, therewere only 14 of us, were interesting people from all across the US. This is my second trip on the Schooner American Eagle. I will definitely return again.
