In November 2021, Dr. Tran determined my husband needed a crown to cover a root canal (reason we schedule the appt) and 2 fillings. Dr. Tran said that he needed a cleaning first. Fine. 2. In January 2022, he had the cleaning. He was told he had to wait weeks before doing the work. Fine. 3. Today, February 2022, he shows up only to find out they were going to the fillings. Fine. 4. Dr. Tran CHANGES her mind to not do the fillings and to do the crown because she doesn't want us to pay more. Not fine. 5. We find out that they didn't authorize insurance approval for the crown, even though we were told he was approved for all of it in January. 6. Now we're going to have to wait weeks for approval for the crown. Dr. Tran, you should not be worrying how much we are going to pay. Let patients worry about that. The concern and priority should be about the teeth! We've doing the song and dance since it's November. How can you feel good about putting a patient through this? And how can you tell the front desk to only put the approvals through for the 2 fillings and not the crown? That does not make sense when the reason we scheduled the appt back in November was for the crown. I guess if you need routine care like teeth cleaning, then this practice is okay. If you need specialized work, then seek other practices who are more competent. Not just nice.

After taking my x-rays, Dr. Luong informed me that I had, at minimum, 6 cavities (and probably more) and that these cavities would need to get drilled after a cleaning. The next available cleaning date was five months away. This struck me as odd given that the hygienist and Dr. Luong said that my cavities should be dealt with "urgently." I sought second and third opinions from two separate dentists. After reviewing the x-rays taken at this practice and supplemental imaging, both additional dentists agreed that I did not have any cavities and that my teeth were in excellent condition. No drilling was necessary. I can understand if Dr. Luong mistook one cavity, but six? Something is fishy. Do NOT visit Dr. Luong or this practice unless you like having unnecessary holes drilled in your mouth!

He had a few cavities which she said he needed to go separate appointments for each one which seems abnormal given my son has never had issues before. He ended up going 4 times and getting shots and treatment each time. My son is 5! Soon after our appointment my son complained of tooth pain. I took him to CHILDREN'S CHOICE DENTAL in Vacaville and they said that the teeth were drilled into and left unfilled. Either they never filled it or the filling popped off soon after application. Because of this my 5 year old has to have a silver cap placed on one tooth and another tooth pulled out. This was excruciating for him because of the infection that was caused because of this dentist office. He took pictures to show me and to explain to me what my teeth needed, and during the treatment he paused and took pictures to show me what he is doing. Before replacing my fillings, he put a rubber dam around my tooth so I don't swallow bits of mercury/silver. None of the other dentists I've seen have done this for me so I really appreciated it. It was a quick visit but my fillings look great. I'm really impressed by this dentist. All of the staff are super nice and helpful. Judy and Michelle set up my appointments and were patient with me even when I accidentally gave them the wrong insurance info. In my first visit, Gabby took my x-rays, and it was fun talking to her while she moved the reflectors around and took the images. Ginette, the hygienist, did a thorough (and gentle) job cleaning my teeth. In my second visit, Marie was very nice and professional and asked me to choose a movie to watch during the treatment, which helped me get distracted. The office was very clean and tastefully decorated. I really liked the orchid theme in the lobby and treatment rooms. Overall the atmosphere was very relaxing, complementing the friendliness of the staff. I drive up here from the bay area and it's definitely worth it. Highly recommended.
