We completed two photoshoots with Jen, and she did a fantastic job.  Jen was professional, prepared, cordial, and simply put, made the entire process feel effortless. She had a wide selection of outfits and backdrops for our newborn, which was simply great. We were able to customize the photoshoot how we desired, without having to personally make outside purchases. We had a great open line of communication with her from start to end as well. We coordinated all elements of the photoshoots prior, to ensure the day of the photoshoot was seamless. I did so far a maternity & newborn (2016), xmas mini, and about to do a valentine mini in a few weeks with Jennifer. Booking was easy: for the maternity and newborn i filled out a contact form online with my interpretation of how i envision the photo shoot to be. And she replied back with date confirmation and her idea inputs. For the mini sessions she posted links of her IG or FB pages and you click on the time slot you want to pay for. Near appointment date, you will get a reminder email and a contract to sign. All photos were exceptional good. I did not have any complaint or re-edit requests. I remember during the xmas mini my kids weren't cooperating and Jennifer was sweet enough to let me do a retake the next morning since she has a spot open. I also ordered a xmas session for my friend and her family had a great experience as well. And it is great to have access to all the images she took the day. Some photographers limit you to pick your fave 5-10 photos as part of the package deal. So for the price that i am paying, i think it is a steal for that access. This review is long overdue as we first worked with Jennifer in 2019 for my son's cake smash photoshoot. At the time her studio was literally around the corner from us in Niles so it was super convenient. Fast forward to 2021 we wanted to work with Jennifer for our daughter's cake smash photoshoot. If we are willing to drive 2.5 hours to her new location with a 3 year old and an 11 month old in tow, you know she is well worth it. We love working with Jennifer because of her professionalism, patience (which is a lot dealing with a crying baby) and the beautiful photographs. We were especially appreciative this time around because our daughter would not stop crying (her top teeth are coming out) but Jennifer gave us extra time and we actually were able to make her smile and laugh. The package we purchased should have been 2 backgrounds but since our daughter was not having it, Jennifer gave us the option to go outside for some shots and that made all the difference. We had our first photo shoot with Jennifer almost a year back during my maternity. She is an awesome photographer and her ability to focus on tiny details is amazing. What can i say...Jennifer is an artist. I found Jennifer Pope right here off of Yelp! thankfully to all of her other yelpers that loved her. I was so happy to find someone great right here in Fremont. I have done many photo sessions so far with her over the past 2 years and honestly love how patient and quick at grabbing the attention of my 2 year old daughter. She amazes me every time because at the time of the shoot with all the craziness going on with trying to get the best picture, she captures it in the right moment. I have also done many family photo-shoots and to get so many people looking up at the camera is a job in itself and she does it well. Jennifer not only is a pleasure to work with (very organized and detailed), but took amazing photos for our maternity session. They were so fabulous, that I had multiple friends inquire about her and one even considering booking her for a wedding! Anyhow, I'm pretty not photogenic and Jennifer managed to take enough photos (~60 within our half hour session!) for me to have a bunch that were share-worthy, haha. She directed the husband and I for multiple different poses, even getting on the ground to capture some amazing shots. Words cannot express how fabulous our photos turned out - she truly captured the love between us (so corny, I know) and my expanding belly (many, many thanks Jennifer). My toddler is a wild little boy and she has so much patience dealing with him and chasing him around. I really cannot believe no one has reviewed Jen. I can see us using Jen for future family photos. She uses natural light which is a major plus for me. She has a huge truck that she carries the fun props on her location sites as well. She'll offer suggestions for props and welcomes your creative ideas as well (though I actually did not offer anything creative). She's patient with the children and captures them in such great shots. She's one busy lady, on top of photography, she has a full-time job, and a young family herself. She primary focuses on family, maternity, newborn photography. She only books a few sessions over the weekend so that she can spend time with her family, which I wouldn't blame her. She offers affordable mini-sessions as well, but to keep up with that you'd definitely want to follow her on Facebook. I saw a sneak peak of the photoshoot on her FB page the same day as the shoot, but she provides a CD or digital download of all the photos within a week. We are so happy that we had her photograph our little family. She is great and personable, patient and able to get our then 4 month old baby's attention. We just had our first child, so I was a little obsessed with getting lots of documentation of his first year. I stumbled across Jennifer's website while I was toying with the idea of getting more professional pics captured and boy am I glad I did. I have to say that we were beyond satisfied with the entire experience, from the initial correspondence to the actual images. Jennifer is really responsive and I love how quick her turnaround time is. Sure, the final product is what we are really after, but it's a great feeling to see the sneak peeks within a day and then get all the images within a week. It saves you from the anticipation and worrying about whether the pictures will turn out ok. She had great reviews, but more importantly to me, she was in NEWARK! I'm a Newark girl born-and-raised so I like to support Newark businesses. We ordered a Maternity/Newborn package with Jennifer. I emailed Jennifer inspiration pictures that I had found online/pinterest for my maternity photo shoot. We exchanged emails on the ideas I had and wanted to incorporate. I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about photography, but Jennifer was able to take my rambled and vague emails of how I wanted "etherial photos with lots of light" (I know, etherial? could I be any more vague?) and turn them into beautiful shots! I love my maternity photos. My daughter was ten days overdue (that lazy stinker) and Jennifer was so accommodating with playing the wait game with us. She was fluid and able work us in to her busy schedule. I had again exchanged emails with Jennifer about some ideas that I had for the shoot. When you get to her house with your then 6 day old newborn, you're pretty scared because you've never taken the tiny baby out. Jennifer's home and studio is welcoming, safe, and WARM. She cranks the heat for your little babe so they are nice and warm. She guides you on how to prepare for the shoot so your babe will be nice and sleepy and full for their photo shoot. She makes it easy. When we got to her studio, Jennifer surprised us with the most adorable model plane to put our baby in. She had gone out of her way to search for and borrow it from another photographer just to fulfill my idea of a airplane themed shoot. For me, she went above and beyond. During the photo shoot is when you see Jennifer in her element. Especially with the newborns! She was so calm, caring, and loving towards our baby. She takes her time setting them up with care. It would sometimes take 5 minutes to set my daughter just right so her little hands would be curled perfectly. We took lots of photos with lots of headbands and props all provided by Jennifer (I didn't have lots of cute clothes for my babe at the time... plus my babe was naked the entire time pretty much). We love and cherish our newborn photos. Afterwards, Jennifer even made a personalized birth announcement for us with some of the pictures she took. Seriously, again, above and beyond! Fast forward to now. I bought a grow-with-me package with Jennifer that includes 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year photos for a GREAT price. We've taken the 3 month and 6 month photos already and I love so much more each time. I love going back and seeing how my baby has grown and changed. These pictures and memories of them this little are so priceless to me. All of our friends and family can't believe how beautiful the pictures are. Jennifer has so much talent. We had our first of many sessions with Jennifer this last weekend. I highly recommend any family takes their kids to her... she has a loveable personality that kids are drawn to. We were skeptic whether our one year old daughter would comply, but Jenn was so good with keeping her occupied and smiling. She also chose a great location for the photos... it was very natural and caught the essence of the fall season . I also was impressed with her different setups... i.e. furniture and props. Bottom line she is very efficient, experienced and creative. We will definitely be using Jenn in the future for our family photos. We booked the maternity and mini newborn session and loved the results! My 2 year old daughter is shy and doesn't easily crack a smile but Jennifer got some good shots of her in both sessions. The newborn session for my son was held at her studio, which was kid friendly for older siblings and kept warm for baby. Baby Austin was a little fussy but Jennifer got him to calm and even offered up a brand new pacifier to help move the session along. I had been going back and forth on whether I should leave this review since our session with Jennifer as I do not like leaving negative reviews for anyone, but thought I should share our experience with everyone. Overall, we like the shots from Jennifer, no doubt she was able to get a few great shots of our 2-year old during our session. It was refreshing since we had been using the same photographer since our son's birth, I wanted to try someone new. There is a few pictures we really like of our son (with my husband and I in the background), but I wish my face wasn't blocked by my son. I understand that Jennifer could be in the moment capturing my son's expressions as kids have short attention span. The main reason for my 2-star rating is the lack of customer service considering paying $350 for a 30-min session isn't the most expensive and yet not the cheapest either. Pretty much right after I made the deposit for the session, Jennifer's email 'tone' had changed, like she didn't care as much anymore. I thought to myself, perhaps our business was just a minor one to her. She also didn't confirm the shoot a week before like she said she would, I had to email her to confirm. Ok fine, I was willing to let all that go and hope we would still enjoy working with Jennifer during the shoot and keep working with her in the near future; she might just be very overwhelmed and short-handed on her end. On the day of the shoot, we were about 5 minutes late to park and it took us another 5 minutes to locate Jennifer as we expected the meeting point would be the park entrance not inside the park since nothing was specified before. Everything was fine during the 20-minute shoot, and we headed to the next spot to get a few more shots. Right after we got there, Jennifer's alarm for her 4:30pm session went off, she ended our shoot abruptly without any shots at that spot. That left us dumbfounded... we didn't expect her to spend another 10 minutes with us since it was our fault we were late for 5 minutes. However, we definitely didn't expect her to conclude our session that way as we already got to that next spot. We stayed in the park for another 10-15 minutes after she had left us to meet with her next appointment. By the time we left the park, she was still waiting. It was definitely a bizarre experience, we have worked with many other photographers in different cities/countries before (engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, baby milestones, holiday...), all the photographers' focus had always been to make sure their clients would be happy with their photos and experience, wouldn't mind spending a few extra minutes to get a few more shots. I understand the session with Jennifer was just a mini one, she had back-to-back appointments but wouldn't anyone in our situation feel the same?! read more

There was so many simple mistakes she could of corrected during the photo shoot. I first met Jennifer when my baby was 7 months old back in August 2015. At first I thought a half hour session for an infant was short, but then I was pleasantly surprised! We had three clothing changed, and she spent time with each one making my baby smiled! The pictures looked great!!! So well that I decided to make an appointment for my baby's 1 year old cake smash in Jan 2016. By that point, she moved to her new studio location on Thorton. Once again, we showed up on time, the cake was ready and she had everything set up already! Unfortunately, my baby boy didn't really 'smashed' the cake as I had originally hope... but Jennifer was so incredibly patient! We were trying everything to get my son to have fun and get dirty and smash the cake but nothing really worked. He just wasn't the messy type! But to my surprise (again), she was able to take quite a few really good shots!!! My husband was there with me this time and he wasn't sure we got anything and he was surprised how well the pictures looked! I am looking forward to working with her again! Look no more, this is the BEST baby photographer you will find! My experience was " spectacular" I want everyone to know that Jenn has to be the most patient person in the world. Sometimes we had to stop feed and change a few diapers. I was pleasantly surprised how fast she is. On the day of our shoot. Our little one was tired and cranky. Jenn jumped around made funny little noises and somehow made our baby laugh and smile witch ended up in the best pictures. She knows how to work with babies with a general touch yet affective nature. With babies and children, you only have a very small window. Her patience with little ones is a gift. She might be the baby whisper. . Just when you think are you sure??? ..that's it, we are done? The end result is amazing. The amount of props she has is impressive She has everything and anything. I felt like she owned everything on etsy. I brought several outfit changes. We didn't need any. Jenn provided better props with the highest quality. Rows and rows of the best things to bows, clothes, buckets, egg shells, fabric, amazing backdrops. I wanted her inventory of headbands they were so cute and hard to find. Every idea you could think of or found on Pinterest she had the prop and had already done that. She is for sure on top of her game. We have a rainbow baby. (A baby that is born after the loss of our first born) when we walked in she had this amazing rainbow drape to Nestle our baby in for her first back drop. My heart just melted it was so perfect. She was so sweet and gentle as she posed and shot pics of my baby. Only toward the end did my baby wake up and Jennifer was extremely attentive to her needs. Jennifer was really professional throughout the whole process. After I booked my appointment she sent me an email outlining in detail everything that I should or shouldn't do or need for the photo shoot. Last year when I found out that I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to have a newborn session for my baby boy. I seen Jennifer Pope's work through one of my friend's. When I contacted Jennifer, she replied very quickly and was informative about the pricing and any questions I had. We were able to pick a date and she mentioned that newborn photo session should be done within 2 weeks after baby is born. I am glad that I booked her and reserved the date in advance because she is getting book by other newborn parents fast. On the day of the photo shoot, I did pay extra for her to travel to my home (which is worth it). She brought her own props and was very patience when working with my 8 day old baby boy. I can't wait for the finish photo that she mentioned it will be ready by a week. Overall experience with Jennifer was excellent. Can't wait to go back to her when baby gets older for another photo session. Maybe this time, we can do a family photo including our dog as well.
