Dr Foster could not get the color and shape correct on my front tooth crown. She tried at least 4 permanent teeth and none were even close. I had to wear an ugly temporary tooth for over 5 months, feeling ugly. Her answer was to charge me another $1500.00 to put an ugly crown on my OTHER front tooth so they would match. The WORST part to me is that she automatically charged my credit card before my tooth was even right. Now I'm out $1500.00 and have to pay another dentist to get it right. I'm so disappointed in her lack of professionalism. read more

I purchased in house dental plan but the office staff had no record of it every time I had a procedure. I finally produced a copy of my original payment for the dental plan and the person I talked to didn't seem to know what to do. I canceled an appointment for a procedure with Dr. Foster because I was sick and could not come in. Two days after the procedure was supposed to be done, Dr. Foster called and asked how I was doing after the procedure. Unnerving. Dr. Foster was an ok dentist. However, the front office staff was easily the most incompetent group of people I have ever encountered in a medical practice. The practice is like an assembly line. The office and dental treatment rooms are dreary. I never saw the face of anyone I received clinical treatment from. Everyone was always masked (this was NOT during Covid). I was told that I had things wrong with my teeth that would have cost several thousand dollars to repair that a subsequent dentist has not identified as an issue. There is no way I could recommend this practice to anyone. read more

I was a long time patient with documents medical conditions with my back that aggravated my lower back while sitting in the chair for dental work. I had to cancel several times due to chronic unmanageable chronic pain due to medical conditions which I expected the office to recognize. They started to charge $50 a pop for a missed visit. I believe Dr Foster would be professional and understanding but she was not. It's all about the money. When I was there having dental treatment done I was shot up with Novocain and Epinephrine to extend the life of the Novocain while doing the work in my mouth. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My heart was beating a million miles a minute. At a certain point all of it started to wear off and gas was given to relax me. It did absolutely nothing. In the mean time several times I accommodated her staffs requests to come in early several times when I had a later scheduled appointment. Then the emails started with every available appointment. The staff in there are never the same which indicates to me that something is very wrong. Between all of the money spent to upgrade the office, the costs for the dental work and a fees I decided to go elsewhere. I sent a request via email to have my records forwarded to the new place and they wanted a $25'.00 fee to send the records. I advised them I would not pay the fee and signed the release. While the care itself has been adequate I have a lot of concerns over the billing practices at this office. Below are some of the concerns I shared with the office in JULY alongside numerous requests for a call from the billing department to discuss billing, which has never been returned. I have now had two deep cleanings in this office. Both were billed the same but the experience was completely different. The first time was completed by a hygienist and did not include any antibiotic injection. The second time the receptionist STRONGLY recommended I add on the antibiotic injections because they are "always done" with a deep cleaning and so I agreed and paid for those out of pocket because they did not expect insurance to cover them. With past dentists there has been confirmation prior to scheduling appointments that the services recommended will be covered, and if not, it was raised prior to scheduling that this would be out of pocket. On my most recent deep cleaning this was not done. When I arrived I was shown a treatment plan for $150ish which I was not prepared for, and then the addition of the "highly recommended" antibiotic injections increased that to about $250. What I understood of that treatment plan and payment was that this is out of pocket which I wasn't sure I understood but took the word of the office for it. What I later found out is, this was out of pocket because my insurance will only cover 1 deep cleaning every 2 years. I'm aware I should confirm my own coverage, but this practice seems pretty predatory when every other dentist seems to raise that awareness ahead of time. My biggest concern is the lack of communication from billing in this office. I receive the statements no problem and invites for cleanings when I've just been in for one, but when I request additional information on billing I get nothing back after multiple requests for months on end, other than the OCCASIONAL response form the front desk that they'll be calling ASAP, that they're short staffed, but they never call. I am in the process of submitting a complaint to the Maryland attorney general over these seemingly predatory practices. read more

I'll never set foot into this practice again. I have been going here for years, and it started off as a great place. But for the past 2 years, it has slowly declined. In my past two visits, I have waited in the waiting room each time over 2 hours like they have completely forgotten about me. They also tell you to arrive early. There's always some excuse. I've had issues with my insurance company saying they have sent over claims serval times repeatedly. One was for a single x-ray that has been processed several times. Both the insurance company and the practice displaced the blame on each other, very frustrating because you just end up paying when you get empty threat voicemials from the front desk "pay or else." You call the front desk and always get put on hold forever, over 10 minutes. It just seems like they have grown too big and can no longer deliver the patient customer service they once did. Sad because I really liked it there, mainly the hygienist she was super thorough, only reason I'm giving 2 stars. read more

Even though I moved away from the area I still drive to Mt. Airy to see Dr. Foster. The team who works at the front desk are so kind and answered all my questions about insurance, etc.... I was also able to get an appointment right away when I called. Jordan cleaned my teeth and did an AMAZING job getting stains off that had been on my teeth for months! Dr. Foster is so kind, warm, and personable. She does excellent work and I fully trust her to always to an amazing job! For me it is worth the drive to have such a good, reliable, consistent dental experience. read more

I don't know who the previous person was reviewing, it certainly wasn't Dr. Foster's office! Been going there for years, extemely happy with their service. They have recently (within the last year or so) refinished their office, with a well-thought-out floor plan, storage areas, etc. And it seems like every time I go in, there is some new piece of equipment that makes things like x-rays easier than before, with the photos practically instantaneous. They are on top of scheduling the next cleaning (every six months, like clockwork). The personnel are extemely friendly, Dr. Foster always asks about my kids (even though they aren't her patients), and I've always had very chill experiences there. Even the time I had a cap and was scared silly, they made it seem like simple routine. I recommend them to everyone! read more

Dr. Foster and her staff will make you feel comfortable and welcome. They always do a thorough job cleaning and keeping my teeth healthy. I never feel rushed, or like I'm being upsold on anything. I'm so glad I found a great dentist close to my home! read more
