I may be a bit late to this review. Hell, I don't know if Yelp was around in 2007? Either way,…read morelet's go back a few years. In the spring of 2007 my dentist in the Fredneck area recommended I have my remaining wisdom teeth removed and recommended Dr. Michael Will, who just so happen to have his office 3 miles from home. Bonus. I made my appointment and went for the consult. I don't remember this consult very much as having teeth pulled was pretty common for me. (Before I had braces I needed 10 [yes, ten] baby teeth pulled.) It was when I was lying in the chair and he finished discussing the teeth removal that my memory really kicks in. At the very end he asks me, "do you often wake up in the middle of the night and you're not breathing?" What?! Yes! How'd he know?? He goes on to tell me he has much more education than just oral surgery and goes into how looking in my nose he can tell I likely sleep poorly. Bingo. Nailed it on the head. Dr. Will could have told me about the procedure he'd like to do to improve my sleep, but he doesn't. That's the easy move and that's not him. To ensure my apnea is mechanical, versus neurological or some other version, he sends me to do a sleep study and and have more tests which take about 2-3 weeks. I don't mind this because one, I've never had surgery; it scares me and two, he's being thorough ensuring that his procedure will correct my problematic sleep. I eventually have the procedure and was thrilled. I remember laying down on the surgical table, then I have a vague memory of goofing off in a wheelchair, then I'm sitting on my neighbors couch and their kids are putting stickers all over my sweatshirt. Zero pain. None, only mild discomfort for about 4 days. On day 4 I go back to his office and Dr. Will proceeds to remove roughly 325 feet of gauze from my nostrils. (I may be exaggerating.) While it didn't hurt, it was certainly a VERY strange sensation having that much packed gauze pulled from your nose like a clown pulls scarfs from his sleeve. It's now 2019 and as he told me back in 2007, I may need the same surgery once again. I'm here leaving a note as I prep for the same surgery far away from Maryland. If I were still in the USA I'd 100% go back to Dr. Will for the work he performed.

I might add he had another review which he which had many negative comments and he started all over again. He tried taking her out of my arms despite me telling him it was not going to go well. She ended up fighting him. He was so rude and he ended up kicking us out of the office. DO NOT GO TO HIM. PLEASE, for the sake of your children. I will be contacting the board about putting in a formal complaint. He should NOT be practicing on children.

I want to start off by saying that I have a long history in medical office administration and…read morecustomer service and have never left a review on any establishments before. The "care" my son received from the older female hygienist was appalling. She immediately got annoyed when he asked his birth sex to be changed from female to male (because medical offices should have the proper patient information for any medications and whatnot). Then, when she started his cleaning, she asked him if he flosses. Now, none of us are perfect and he has a very busy schedule (not that it's anyone's business), but when he answered that he tries to, but only ends up doing it 1-2 times a week, she got upset and stated that he's "no longer 18 and can make time to floss on the way to work". A suggestion is one thing, but to make condescending remarks about such a small detail to a stranger is not only odd, but extremely unprofessional. It gets worse though. She proceeded to dig into his teeth and gums so hard that his head literally jerked back and he had to ball his fists to manage the pain. The dentist finally checked in to see him and said that his teeth looked very nice and he just had some build up, but nothing they couldn't fix. He's the only reason I'm okay with one star being an option. Once the dentist left, the hygienist came back only to tell my son that his teeth looked "bad" and continued the service. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or if she needs to find a profession that makes her happy, but her unprofessionalism on top of her nasty attitude is enough for my son to schedule elsewhere and i hope that no one else experiences what my son did.

It was the…read moremiddle of the day and I took some time off from work. 3D Xrays imaging was conducted to create a 3D rendition of the oral cavity, which wasn't necessary for Dental Hygiene. It was charged to my insurance. Then 2D X-Ray images were taken in duplicates. I don't understand the need for duplicity of these various imaging conditions. I guess, whenever possible they try to take our hard-earned money to furnish their plethora of instruments and justify otherwise. Then, I waited on the Dental Chair for about 15 minutes for Dr. Sang Cho to attend to me. He had a glimpse at the images and started looking at my teeth. After 5 minutes, he wandered off to talk to some other folks and left waiting for another 10 mins. I told them that I had a meeting to attend after the dental appointment. Finally, he spent 5-10 mins cleaning. The cleaning was poorly conducted (in hurry) compared to other dental hygienists. I believe there is a lack of professional attitude to the patient. The doctor ( dental hygienist himself) hasn't spent enough time attentively to do the job properly. Later on he suggested putting a crown on one of my molars. I got a quote of a total of $900 in which $581 out of pocket. Immediately, there was a red flag. I realized this person is hankering for money from his (new) patients. I have previously done dental treatment such as filling and porcelain crown before with the same insurance coverage that cost me $135 out of pocket. My wife also experienced a similar situation from another dentist in Frederick. Later on she went to orthodontics in Gaithersburg for better and genuine treatment. Learning from the past experiences, I wanted to go for a second opinion. As soon as I requested my X-Ray images they were charging $37 for releasing my record... What a double whammy!! I have already paid for my X Ray. I have also paid for their instrument use and now they are charging more money for giving me what I already own. I don't understand if they have to charge more for releasing my report then why isn't it already included for the first time. I would never go back to Dr. Sang Cho at My Frederick Dentist. I suggest to folks who are reading this review to be careful using this dental service. Addendum: Looking at their pricing disparities (see attached photos), to me, My Frederick Dentist is ripping their customers off at a logarithmic scale. Their website shows (called casting a net) the X-Rays and Hygiene service for new patients is provided at $99 but in reality they charged me $481.00. Also, for the same service, fees varied for me vs. my wife. When we tried to report this in BBB - hehe, not a surprise, it's not accredited - indicates that their discriminatory business practices cannot be trusted.

DO NOT GET A PROCEDURE DONE BY DR. CHU (at the Falls Church location). I had my wisdom teeth taken out by him and I had to stay 2 nights in the ER because I got sepsis (along with a $4500+ medical debt). My mouth would not stop bleeding for 48hrs after surgery, I do not think they sewed up my wounds correctly. Both sides of my cheeks were bruised up for weeks and the IV that Dr.Chu/his assistant injected also left a nasty bruise for weeks (for comparison, the IV from the ER nurses left a barely noticeable dot on both my arms). The cherry on top is that Dr. Chu never bothered to followup with me after my hospital trip. I'm certain that Dr. Chu knew that I was in the hospital because the infectious disease specialist told me he would followup with Dr. Chu. The front desk ladies were more thorough with their follow up for my pending balance than Dr. Chu ever was for MY LIFE. On Google review, someone else shared a similar experience in that they also almost had to go to the ER and that Dr. Chu was dismissive. So my experience was not an outlier. I do not think I would be here today to write this review if my girlfriend didn't take me to the hospital after she found me trembling in my sleep as my body was fighting off the infection from sepsis at 2AM. If you value your life, I highly recommend you get your oral surgeries at another location.

I've had a bad lower wisdom tooth removal experience with a DIFFERENT doctor and DIFFERENT practice, so I was extremely anxious going into surgery with Dr. Patel. I called him the day before, and he assured me that he was confident my surgery would go well. Based on my experience post-surgery, Dr. Patel was a pro during surgery. I used gauze for the first few hours post surgery and then the bleeding stopped. I was thrilled that I didn't throw up from the anesthesia and I experienced very little pain. In fact, I didn't need any pain medicine and only took the ibuprofen at night as a preemptive measure, to ensure I would sleep comfortably. Since my past experience made me paranoid about wisdom tooth surgery infection, I called Dr. Patel's office to see whether my post-surgery experiences were normal. They were very responsive and helped calm my nerves. I was also able to come into the office, so Dr. Patel could confirm that everything was healing well. Dental work is never fun, but if you ever need oral surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Patel! He's truly the best!

My surgeon met with me first before the actual procedure since I was undergoing IV sedation. Dr. Itani was extremely patient and kind. The staff was amazingly supportive, gentle, caring & kind. All of my dental anxiety vanished after Dr. Itani pulled that tooth as it could not be saved. Because of him and my success with finding him/this practice with YELP, I used YELP to also find my new dentist. Just shy of a year later I returned to have this area implanted.
