I used to go to this place for years. They always offered me the mouth guard which I never purchased because of the price. Also I have sleep apnea which makes it hard to wear a night guard since I have a mask that covers both mouth and nose. They mentioned there was a mouth guard that would help with sleep apnea/snoring as well but they said that the insurance usually does not cover it. Last time I visited, I had a new insurance company that covered medical and dental insurance. I asked if they could ask for an estimate to see if they would cover the sleep apnea mouth guard. (Out of all the times I visited they always showed me the same mouth guard device that had two pieces and was connected my a piece of plastic/metal that would push your jaw forward to help with snoring) After they check with the insurance they said that the insurance would partially cover the mouth guard. When I was on the visit they scanned both my top and bottom teeth. I thought that they understood that due to the sleep apnea I would not be able to use a regular mouth guard since it makes it hard to breathe with a full mask on. When I got there to pick up my mouth guard they showed me a piece that THEY HAD NEVER SHOWN ME BEFORE. The piece was only for the top part of the teeth. I asked why I was getting this and they said that they told me that this is what I agreed on. Which is not true. I was never shown this piece. If they would have shown me this. I would have not gotten it. They knew that a regular mouth guard will be hard to use with a CPAP machine. They said to try and see if it would work. I did. And just like I knew it would happen it doesn't work. I did see that the claim the submitted to the insurance was for 600 and my co pay was 146. Which I paid. For a one piece mouth guard that I cant use. And I cannot return. It's been very frustrating and disappointing to be treated like this. They knew my condition and I was not shown the second "mouth guard" only the sleep apnea one. They tried to call me and offered to put the $146 towards the sleep apnea mouth guard but the price for it would be $700. I would not recommend this place. Do not get the mouth guard even though the offer it often. Now I have a $146 device that I cannot return and I cannot use. read more

my husband went for his regular cleaning service and check-up with Dr. Mary Askary. During a routine cleaning visit, Dr. Askary found an old and broken filling on his # 30 teeth. To resolve his broken filling, Dr. Askary's put a crown on that tooth. My husband didn't have pain or concern about that tooth prior to the crown installation, and he could eat just fine without any issues. However, everything changed after the crown was put-- and it's very bad. We trusted Dr Askary that that treatment was the best for him. Wrong decision. Follow up visit, Dr. Askary, he said that my husband has an infection. Antibiotic were prescribed, finished and no change in pain. We went to root canal specialist, and He said that my husband didn't have infection on his tooth which contradicts Dr Askary diagnostic. Root canal was done. Sensitivity to cold and hot gone but the pain still on. The pain never went away. My husband has been suffering since day 1 (9/15/2025) until now for a pain, to the point that is affecting his regular lifestyle. After consulting with Dr. Askary further, Dr. Askary seemed like he did not want to examine the issue further, stating that he did a good job and nothing else could be done. I contacted Dr. Askary on 1/5/2025 to hopefully resolve the issue further, but he was very rude on the phone, exclaimed that he did not make any mistakes, and did not seem interested in addressing and finding a solution to my husband's insufferable pain. The conversation became so unpleasant that He hung up the phone on me. This is neither professional nor remotely considerate. We contact a specialist, this doctor found that my husband's #30 tooth was broken to the root, for which the solution was a tooth extraction. Dr. Askary's lack of cooperation, incompetence, and negligence costed me and my family more than $1000 in extra out-of-pocket expenses. PLEASE BE AWAY FROM THAT OFFICE. read more

I want to respond that I did not refuse future X-rays. I refused unnecessary X-rays due to my THYROID CANCER. Instead of speaking with me, Dr Askari tried to BULLY me into getting unnecessary X-rays by stating he would not clean my teeth at my next appointment without X-rays. He then reached out to my HUSBAND when I wrote my original review. I have spoken to THREE different dentists who agree with me. They took the time to LISTEN to my concerns and agree that unnecessary X-rays are wrong. They were shocked by the bullying tactics used by Dr. Askari. By the way: doing unnecessary X-rays on your 1,000 patients DOES change your income. $30 an X-ray twice a year is $60,000....that is higher than many salaries. (This was something Dr Askari urged to my husband--that the X-rays did not benefit him!!!!) There are so many dentists in this area--many with great reviews and I found a new one quickly. A simple call to ME (not my husband) and taking time to LISTEN to me would have ended with a different outcome. Stay far away! read more

At first I had a great experience went had my teeth cleaned by a wonderful lady very sweet and kind the entire time!!!! I then get told I had a few cavities (no surprise I haven't been for a cleaning in over a year) and they recommended a night guard (yea yea I know grind my teeth) they told me my insurance doesn't cover it I wouldn't no barely had the insurance for a week they say it's normally $600 they offered it to me for $500 and can do two payments, no thanks I found it cheaper and same quality also get a top and bottom go me! Anyways a week later I come in to take care of the cavities during the process the man rudely told me to keep my mouth open and which I tried my best I can't open it to wide due to another medical condition (which he was aware of from my first visit). After getting the filling I told the guy i could still feel the filling and he was rude when I asked for it to be smoothed down more to have my teeth match up to each other. (Still have a small amount that bothers me but I'll deal with it before going back) My husband than goes a week later and they also offer the night guard even though he doesn't need it (he has perfect teeth) and they offer it to him for 450!!! (So they just pick and choose who gets a discount) And when he declined them for the 10th time the man was like "no worries when you get the funds come back and we will do it"... EXCUSE me?????? No one here was worried about the funds he simply just didn't want them!!! Freaking rude this will be our first and last time coming to this place! Update since Marty likes to comment to all his negative reviews and can't take the honesty. I was offered $500 for their "night guard" my husband was offered the same "night guard" for $450 not sure how that's fair.... Any who glad you think you know who or where I'm getting my mouth guard from and no it's not $30 from the drug store or a non dentist and I do know the difference but thanks for assuming I don't know anything! I had my first visit today and had a very pleasant experience. Everyone from the hygienist to the dentist and the dental assistant was nice and informative. The dentist Dr Askari was very kind and funny, also making conversation with me which passed the time. The best part was that I had a few small cavities that they were able to go ahead and fill right then and there; so I didn't have to take off work to come back. 1 star bc you can't put zero or negative stars. Dr. Marty Askari is the rudest doctor of ever had the displeasure of meeting. I had a bunch of gum line cavities and Dr. Askari told me it was because of soda and that I needed to stop drinking it. When I went to tell him the real reason for the cavities he proceeded to cut me off and called me a liar. No exaggeration. On my first (and last) visit he gave me fillings that were awful. The composite doesn't match my tooth color and even worse he didn't smooth it out so I now deal with the daily frustration of floss getting stuck in all the places where the filling catches bc it isn't flush. Later in the night I had an ulcer form on the bottom inside of my cheek bc he pushed down the mouth mirror so hard to open my cheek. Even with being numb it was excruciating. Speaking of numbing, it takes very little lidocaine to get my mouth numb. For some reason I wasn't getting numb (I think he injected the wrong area) I've had plenty of dental work over the years and never in my life has the anesthetic numbed my ear. It was so uncomfortable. Imagine feeling like your ear is clogged and itches like crazy if you've ever had your ear numb than you know. After ALL THAT the worst part was the fact that he refused to work on any other teeth until I got ONE tooth looked at by a specialist. Why??? Why is one tooth holding up the rest of treatment?! This place is a joke!! They left me a message saying I'm passed due for an appointment and I laughed bc how can you be passed due a refusal of treatment? Haha so I called and they tried to schedule my 6 month cleaning a year later and then I reminded them about that ONE TOOTH and they said "oh okay yeah we can't see you until that's fixed.". Needless to say I have been moved on from the Rosemont Dental office but I haven't told them because the unprofessional comedy continues to ensue. So with every thing I mentioned I'd give this office a negative 8 out of 5 stars. 1 star b/c I had to in order to submit. I made an appt for a cleaning. They called saying x rays had been done 10 months ago can I get them. I said yes. There was a glitch in getting them so I was still on phone w/other dentist arranging to have them emailed asap. They then said that was not sufficient, that they needed to do four x rays or no cleaning. I asked the doctor's office on the phone if that sounded reasonable, they say no. I left, went next door to My Frederick Dentist explained the situation and they had no problem accepting the previous x rays. I had explained to Rosemont dental that I have extreme anxiety going to the dentist due to childhood trauma. They didn't care. They were rude and condescending. Bottom line is they just wanted to get more money by taking needless x rays and exposing me to add'l radiation. I have filed a complaint with my insurance and will be sure they don't try to file a claim for the visit read more

I hate leaving any type of bad review but my experience with this office was not the best and I just wouldn't want anyone to support a business like this. Not sure how this place has a 4.8 on google other than fake reviews. I helped my mom find a provider through her insurance and this practice came up. Because of the good reviews she called to make an appointment BACK IN NOVEMBER and was told that they had to "verify her insurance" and would give her a callback. They then called back and said they did not have appointments available but would call back once there was an opening (never heard about a practice having 0 appointments). She waits and calls again after Christmas and is told they have to verify they accept her insurance AGAIN and would call back that afternoon to let her know. That day she did not receive a call SO I CALLED because my mom has an accent and is foreign and I think sometimes people do not take someone with an accent seriously - based on personal and professional experiences. The lady said she had called the insurance and forgot to call my mom and let her know but they do not accept her insurance. I then emailed the office manager the next day and never received a response. My mom ended up calling another provider (Byrd Dental) that day and was able to get an appointment for a cleaning FOR THE NEXT DAY! So if you are in Frederick and looking for a provider, I recommend Byrd Dental. Bypass the issues you will have here with Dr. Askari and go somewhere that provides real service to people who need it. This practice BETTER not to try to respond here and save face and give some crap explanation. If you cared, you would have responded to the email, not waited until you got called out in a review. Few Points: A: Why is this provider still showing up as an approved provider for my mom's insurance? I called and talked to her insurance company and verified they are an in-network provider. B: Why was my mom dragged around like this for two months? C: Why was there so much miscommunication and lack of communication on the part of the office staff? D. I was in a serious car accident that caused me to be off work so I lost my dental insurance and had temporary coverage through MD Priority Partners so I was excited to finally find a dentist who accepted this insurance and had decent reviews on Google but I had the WORST EXPERIENCE!! The office staff was kind and the hygienist was amazing and made me feel comfortable. She was going over all these different options which gave me hope and then the dentist comes in, tells me he can't help me and said he'll give me a referral but he isn't sure they take my insurance. I was like well okay then so then I call the place on the 'referral' which was a hand written note for another office and this was just another dentist who didn't accept my insurance. This place literally does nothing more than they do so I'm assuming he just figured I couldn't afford much and wasn't interested in helping me figure out options. I've been going to Rosemont Dental for years now and have seen many changes. I rushed from work today to make a 3:30 cleaning appointment. I arrived and was rudely greeted by the receptionist, she then proceeded to tell me that my appointment was moved until 4:15. I asked why I wasn't informed before leaving work early, she told me that they called several times today. I checked my phone and no one from the office called me. she then told me that it didn't matter because I didn't confirm my appointment. I very rarely confirm appointments. I asked to speak with Dr Askari and she rolled her eyes at me. I've always had a great relationship with him. She came back out and told me I would have to wait. I decided that the environment of the office was not welcoming and I left. I will be finding a new dentist. read more

This office is amazing. I wasn't a patient but over the weekend a filling fell out. My husband has gone here and called and they got me in that day. Expecting just a filling I found out I had an infection and needed a root canal. Dr. Askari was incredibly kind, gentle, and informed me of every step he was doing. Obviously this is expensive and they were professional but so kind about how we could get this paid. I have never had a dentist and a staff that I immediately felt connected to and who cared so much.
