Jenn has been a huge help for me as a first time mom. I had a video session with her in the last month before delivery to learn about the basics of breastfeeding. It helped me feel more confident in the first few days after delivery feeding my baby. There's always a mix of information for new parents to digest. We were told different things by different people and felt confused. I contacted Jenn for help with managing flow issues as well as to help me figure out how to build a freezer stash for when I return to work. Jenn was fantastic! I was completely unprepared for how difficult and challenging breastfeeding could be. We saw 3 other IBCLCs before finding Jenn, and I was on the verge of giving up. She is not just extremely knowledgeable but also deeply empathetic - which makes a huge difference when you're struggling with with breastfeeding! My son had a severe tongue tie which had to be released twice and even then still struggled to latch and suck efficiently. Jenn saw us before both releases, communicated with the ENT to share her opinions before we saw him, and followed up with us after. She made the whole situation much less stressful for us! Working with Jennifer was, by far, the best decision I've made postpartum. I was struggling with breastfeeding after coming home from the hospital with my little one and although I met lactation consultants at the hospital and over Zoom I felt like their advice was contradicting and I was left with more questions than answers. Jenn helped me so much in figuring out how to latch my second baby, after I failed to breastfeed with my first. She not only helped me latch, but also figured out that I had the incorrect flange size for my pump, and the new size greatly helped increase my supply. Highly recommend working with Jennifer! She was thorough, caring, patient and supportive. She provided us with a ton of information and education that gave us the confidence to approach breastfeeding in a way that works for us. She is incredibly responsive over email and happened to have availability that week. We saw her in our home at the tail end of COVID in June 2021 and it all felt very safe (she was vaccinated, wore mask and gloves, etc.). She was also great at following up after the appointment to check in, answer questions, and offer additional help as needed. We especially appreciated how thorough she was and that she was able to address a lot of different aspects of breastfeeding in our session. She asked detailed questions which allowed her to tailor the session to our specific challenges and collaborate on realistic solutions. I highly recommend working with Jenn if you are having any sort of challenges in your breastfeeding journey. We were given a nipple shield in the hospital due to an extremely painful latch from my son, and while it was a saving grace in the short term, it became a crutch and my son wouldn't latch without it. It was frustrating and messy and I wanted more than anything to get him off of it. In one session, Jenn not only showed me how to position my breast/nipple to get my son to latch without the shield, but she also diagnosed a tongue tie that multiple nurses and pediatricians dismissed both in the hospital and at our 1 week appt. In addition, she is extremely responsive via email (I've likely tested her limits with all my questions), and she is warm and kind and really wants all of her clients to succeed in their journeys. Even though she was healthy and chunky, I was anxious that she wasn't eating much during the day, had a shallow latch, and was only eating from one breast at a time. 100 stars! It's hard to put into words the positive impact Jenn has had on our family. I'm tearing up thinking about it! I first started working with Jenn when my baby was about 3 weeks old. My baby wasn't gaining weight and was drifting off her growth curve %ile. The pediatrician was worried too and had us coming in every 2-3 days for weight checks. My baby was crying constantly and not getting enough milk because my supply had all but dried up, thanks to some not great advice about pumping I'd gotten at the beginning from someone else. Meanwhile the infant formula crisis was at its peak, and it was very difficult to track down even a single box of infant formula! It was a very scary time for us as first-time parents to watch our child not thriving and with all these other unlucky circumstances piled on top. When we first met her, Jenn had a very calming presence. Over the course of several visits, Jenn worked with us to improve my baby's latch, and to help me figure out how to regain my supply. It turned out my baby had a tongue tie, which Jenn was really the one who figured it out (not the pediatricians, not the ENT doctor). After this tongue tie was corrected by a 2-min surgical procedure, my baby started nursing much better, just 72 hours later. Jenn worked with me to help me regain my supply, and I'm happy to say my baby is completely fed off of breast milk at this point. Jenn also returned for another visit when I went back to work to help me work out a pumping schedule and to navigate returning to the office. Thank you, Jenn! I had so much difficulty with breastfeeding my first baby and ended up exclusively pumping for a year despite going to 3 different LCs. Jenn is truly amazing, and I can never thank her enough for all that she has done for my daughter and me. I had a very difficult start to my breastfeeding experience -- excruciating pain for me, and poor weight gain for baby requiring around-the-clock supplements. We contacted Jenn when our daughter was 9 days old, and she immediately identified the problem -- baby had a significant tongue-tie, which ultimately required two minor ENT procedures to correct. Jenn shepherded us through the entire experience with incredible compassion, expertise, and patience. Now, only 3 weeks later, our daughter is doing great, gaining weight without any supplements, and I am breastfeeding without pain. Jenn's support and interventions completely changed the entire experience of new parenthood for me -- from a stressful and painful experience, to a beautiful and cherished time with my daughter. Jennifer absolutely turned around my breastfeeding experience with my daughter. At 3 days old, she was loosing a lot of weight and on the verge of being admitted to the hospital for jaundice. Anxiety stricken, and already feeling insufficient due to low supply/milk not in yet, I was advised by pediatrician to start pumping and supplementing with formula. It happened to be good luck and timing as Jenn was about to start a breastfeeding support class when I walked into Day One, tears running down my face. Jenn was extremely compassionate, warm and helpful in that first encounter. I realized, a few days later, after struggling with pumping, supplementing and breastfeeding, that I was on an unsustainable path. I called Jenn for an in-home consultation and am so glad I did!!! At four weeks old now, my baby is pretty much exclusively breastfeeding (except one bottle at night). I had a lot of virtual breastfeeding support but was still having a really challenging time feeding and was using nipple shields to try to make things better but unfortunately, it started getting much worse.
