I had a neighbor property line dispute, and called Paul. He immediately got back to me and worked up an estimate. I hired Paul and he sent me some initial information about the neighborhood surveys. Paul showed up on time on the date of the survey. He spent all day working on the survey. He let me watch some of it and explained what he was doing and how the equipment worked. He was so helpful and patient. When he was finished he marked the property lines and explained his findings thoroughly. After he let me know when he filed it with the City. Disclosure: Years ago, Paul was my coworker for a couple of days. My property was missing survey points on the street side and I was new in my neighborhood. So...where do you find a land surveyor? Yelp,of course. The only surveyor with 5 stars but maybe yelp should have a plus sign or something like a star. Anyway. Our neighbors are making a mess of their backyard and thought we were on their property I called Paul and he called back a little while later saying he was sorry he took so long to call back. (It was like 2 hours.). He was on his way to Tahoe the next day but I told him our story and had decided that the extra wait for him to get back from vacation would be ok when he decided that he would come survey our property before he left the next morning. Really? Who would do that? Well he showed up. Did an excellent job, even put in stakes along the line instead of just at the corners! Awesome! And yesterday I got a card from him thanking us for our business SO...if you need surveying truthfully, look no farther, this is the guy. I'm buying a house in San Diego city heights area and i need to build a fence to keep the neighbors kids off my property. I found his number on yelp, I gave him a call at 6:04pm thinking i would just have to leave a message. Surprisingly he answered and he was very nice, polite, he explained everything very clearly. I really had no idea how much go's into serving. Well he asked for the address and said he would call me back in about 20 min. About 20 min later he really did call me back. This was a Wednesday at 6:46pm. He was honest enough to tell me that I may be able to find someone cheaper that may have already done some work in this area. he said call around first so I don't pay him for work that may have already been done. He was suggested by a friend in the real estate business and I contacted him in 2011 about an apparently incorrect survey done by another surveyor. He had great suggestions and a sympathetic ear after viewing the result. Apparently old neighborhoods such as Point Loma, Mission Hills and especially Golden Hill can yield varying results based on the surveyors choice of starting points. I recently employed Jennings Land Surveying to do a topographical survey of a property of mine in Descanso, CA. From beginning to end, Paul handled the job with courtesy and professionalism. His initial quote was so good that I did not seek another. He arrived promptly on the day of the survey, acquainted me with his equipment and procedure, and spent the day slogging through thick brush and rugged terrain (and two bee stings) to take the survey measurements. He then returned home and gathered the data into a first-rate topographical survey that conformed to the needs of the county bureaucracy, presenting the finished product to me just two business days after the initial measurements. Prompt and efficient, Paul finished the job on-time and on-budget. This was a full survey of an empty parcel of land that I'm building a house on in South Park. After his initial quote, I called out another 20 items that I wanted flagged. The bid hardly changed at all and in addition he was able to locate the old corners and put in boundary markers while he was doing the survey.
