At that point, we decided we didn't want it anymore and left. I went back in to ask for a manager's name and number and was handed the phone to speak with the owners. They informed me the store was not short-staffed, which contradicted what we had been told. The resolution offered was a free smoothie, but there was no acknowledgment or apology for the poor service. While the owners did listen, which I appreciate, the overall experience left us feeling disrespected. As two women of color, we did not feel valued as customers. What should have been a simple smoothie order turned into an unnecessarily negative experience.
