Tongue in Cheek brings me wonderful memories any time I go now as it is a preferred meetup place for my friend group! I'm really tough on ice cream reviews, especially after Italy, but this is one of my favorites I've found overall in DFW for ice cream itself. I really like the vegan coconut dark chocolate flavor. I love getting a medium size to go so I can eat it at home over 2-3 days! I enjoyed the dark chocolate flavor, but found it so intense/ rich I actually couldn't sleep that night (I'm very caffeine sensitive)! The vegan coconut chocolate flavor mitigates that effect for me. I'm a huge fan of places with creative vegan flavors. Servers are friendly. I've found how full they actually fill your cup depends a ton on who is working there, but that's not a huge deal for me. Usually, if I'm coming here it's to be with friends, not to fret over how much ice cream I'm given. The sway seats on swings are really unique and memorable; I always love rocking back and forth while being with friends. The interior is pretty minimal with mildly sarcastic signs hung throughout and humorous signs about sprinkles in the bathroom. I've been twice so far, and both times the service and flavors have been outstanding. Most recently, we went for the Stuff Your Stanley Cup promotion where they filled your Stanley (or similar large tumbler/bottle) with as many flavors as you'd like for only $10. I ended up getting the black raspberry chip, chocolate whiskey cake, and coffee chip flavors in my 40 oz Owala tumbler (all three are amazing, by the way). We were greeted when we went in, super excited to see the big swings as seating, and barely had a wait in line before being met with all the time and attention while we debated what flavors would layer best. On top of the amazing, patient, and helpful service, the ice cream is really amazing-- even flavors I would have never considered before were making me second guess which ones I thought I wanted! We didn't stay long this trip, but having sat in the swing-style seating before, the interior is super comfy and spacious and perfect for enjoying your sweet treats while there! read more

What a surprise! The outside of this place is not a good representation of what Tongue In Cheek has to offer. When my hubby chose this place I wasn't thrilled as I'm dairy free and most dairy free options are sherbet (bleck!) but I went along since the whole family was going. I was blown away! Not only was the inside spacious and clean but their non dairy options were impressive. I tasted a couple and settled on the chocolate. It was wonderful! Creamy, smooth and tasty. So delicious!! We came in and got two medium icecream cups. The staff was very nice and helpful in choosing and trying the flavors. It's very clean inside and spacious with a good amount of seating available. Friends suggested we check out Tongue and Cheek's ice cream and well worth the visit. With 2 other locations, this was 15 mins from our house and we enjoyed the flavors we sampled so much we opted for pints to take home instead of scoops. On a quiet evening the young man at the counter offered to pack two flavors into a single pint i(one atop the other, not blended together) nstead of taking the frozen, pre-packed pints, as no one else was in the store. I mixed the amazing Chocolate Whiskey Cake which was a lighter, creamier chocolate with whiskey and vanilla cake flavors, along with a Dark Chocolate Fudge. My wife mixed their Caramel Crack and Cappucino Crunch. With a $6/pint if buying 2 pints special, this was well worthwhile and we'll definitely return and continue spreading the word. Best ice cream in Plano. Maybe all of dfw. I live right by and go with my wife like every other month for a treat. Staff is almost always nice, maybe sometime they seem stressed if there is a large group of people walk in but usually they are happy to help and get you several free tasting before you select your flavors. It's Tongue In Cheek, baby. It's the best ice cream around. Plano welcomes you with open arms. This location is much bigger and open than the Richardson location. The setup is more modern and illuminated, allowing more tables and seats. The swings here are interesting. They're so far from the table that no kid can eat their ice cream from the table. Even adults have to lean very forward to reach. They're also much higher. Is the design intended for young adults and not little kids? I can see the logic that this protects little ones from swinging right into the tables given they're hanging from a much taller ceiling than Richardson. This place was the place to be on a Tuesday night!! Or any hot summer days probably. The store was popping when we came at 9 PM, and it's probably because of their amazing ice-cream. My sister has been fangirling about this place opening near us but I'm not a huge ice-cream fan so I didn't care much. The workers were friendly, and they have so many different flavors ranging from chocolate, creamy to fruity! I got their baby size, which is perfect for me. There were only two workers, but they moved fast and made sure everyone receive great customer service. I asked to sample some flavors despite the line, and they were nice about it. I love that they let me get 2 flavors for the baby cup, which isn't typical. My sister got the single and it was too much for her. They really do fill their cup up. The space was big, but there weren't many seats. They have some swing chairs dangling from the top, and regular tables. All the seats on the swing were taken so we just ate at a table. My sister told me it's not easy to sit on those because she fell last time she went, and to my surprise, I watched someone fell on their butt from trying to sit lmao. Asides from that, the flavors were good-- they're not too sweet or plain. It was perfectly in the middle with lots of chunks (I got butter pecan and caramel crack). Service was not good the kid that was in there acted like she didn't really wanna be there. But what really was the negative part for me was that half of the ice cream laying on top in the open containers was melted. When I asked her about it she just said yeah happens a lot. Tells me they're not even trying to keep the ice cream frozen. One of the tubs of ice cream was so bad you couldn't see anything but melted liquid. I came in yesterday specifically because of a promotion they were running to give 2022 graduates a free scoop if they brought in their graduation tassel. I did so, bringing in my class of 2022 college tassel, but they refused to honor the promotion, saying it only applied to highschool graduates, although the post they made about the promotion did not indicate that anywhere. I had heard really good things about this place and their other locations so I was excited to try their new East Plano shop. The whole staff was excited as it was their Grand opening event. The energy was a bit chaotic but overall service was good. The shop feels a bit odd. The building is a bit big and uninviting despite the swinging chairs and benches that try to make this place unique and playful. I believe this used to be an AnytimeFitness location and it somehow still feels like a repurposed gym space with plain decoration and lack of personality. Now for what matters...the ice cream! The ice cream itself is not what I expected. I tried a few flavors and they were all just too sweet.... No one in my party was able to finish their ice creams because of just how sweet they were... in fact, the sweetness becomes so overpowering that it eventually overwhelms the flavor altogether. Not even the Waffle cone was able to save my ice cream choice as the cone felt a bit chewy and plain. Flavors are not as original as most reviewers made them sound and without mix-in options it is hard to customize your experience here. I was underwhelmed. So this ice cream truck came to my neighborhood and I was super excited to try it out. I had one scoop of the banana pudding ice cream and it was DELICIOUS!! It had the perfect amount of sweetness and the texture was velvety smooth! I figured the vanilla wafers may be soggy, but surprisingly, they held up perfectly throughout the entire scoop and the slight crunch was on point!!
