The trim handle wasn't damaged. But the old cartridge was for sure damaged with the stem sticking out. Sure, the cartridge would need to be replaced anyways, but taking it out in the first place while not familiar with the fixture could damage the valve itself which could be a much worse problem.

He reinstalled that toilet and then used an auger on the other toilet. Still nothing cleared. Went back to first toilet, said he didn't clear the toilet itself, so used auger on it, nothing cleared. Told us that we should have one good flush before it backed up. He was here for 3 hours, said he gave us a "discount" because he couldn't clear it. However, based on Santhoff's response to my original rating we clearly have a difference of opinion about backing up your work. I was told there would be a $69 service fee. I did not realize the "service fee" is just for them to come to your house. Once there I was told it would be another $400+ to install the unit (Home Depot does installation for $225). Once they installed the new unit, I was told they needed another part to connect the dishwasher which would be another $100+ dollar charge and that they did not have that part in the van and would have to go get it. Funny how on the website they advertise a "fully stocked truck". The best part was our plumber damaged our cabinet while trying to move the dishwasher and didn't even bring it to our attention. STRONGLY RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
