Wonderful drive-in experience. I haven't been to a drive-In in years, this is the closest to home. My family and I watched the Jurassic world dominion / Top Guns double feature. It was a chilly rainy night, we stayed in the truck to watch the film. Jericho has the ice cream options, my sister even rate the pb sauce one of the best in the capital region. One thing to improve is to add more trash cans in the drive-in area. There was only 1 trash can by the bathrooms/concessions area. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to this drive-in. The owner was nice and I am had I had the opportunity to chat with him. The snack bar was solid and had a couple of unique options like mac and cheese bites. If you aren't from the area, try a regional food specialty fried mozzarella sticks with raspberry sauce. Where this theater really stood out from the others I have been to is the ice cream stand. It is great, the best in the state at a drive-in hands down. I'd say it's better than 95% of "normal" ice cream stands too. The sundaes are great and well though out, reasonably priced for what you get. At the moment, you can also order from the snack bar or ice cream stand online, a nice touch. A+ from me. read more

Finally, Drive-in season is here!!! We got there just before 6:50pm, and as expected had to wait...and wait...and wait. So I exaggerate a little; we did get in before 7:30. I thought the web site said opening at 6:50, but could be my mistake. We got in quickly after the cars started moving. It was disappointing that the lady who was in the box office last year wasn't there. Some man who was allergic to smiling was. Hope the movie makes up for his lack of customer appreciation. read more

My wife and I came here to get out of the house and see Harrison Ford (Call of the Wild) on the big screen. I haven't been to a drive-in in a long time, mostly because I usually fall asleep before the second movie and then have the drive home. Old man syndrome. Because of the Covid 19, all tickets had to be purchased online in advance. All food and ice cream had to be purchased online too, using an app on your smart phone. Seems easy enough, except that for those of us without a smart phone we don't have any options except go up to the window with case and beg. Anyway, we brought our own food to avoid such disasters and it was fine. The theater was nice but not at all easy to get to. They open the gates at 7PM (90 minutes before show time) and I don't know where they expect cars to line up in advance who arrive early or even on time. As it was, we were on the side of the road and soon cars lined up back to the main strip. It is an odd arrangement to be sure. Nevertheless, aside from the random people who didn't know how to turn off their headlights and such we enjoyed ourselves. At least we did until the movie jammed and left us with a blank screen for about 20 minutes. It was several minutes in before the staff acknowledged the problem. They might have been working on fixing it, but it would have been nice for them to come over the radio and say as much. Instead, we all had fun honking our horns to get their attention. It is a part of summer, a tradition that surely won't last forever in the digital age, and I hope to be back when things are "back to normal." read more

The most fun you can possibly have watching a mediocre movie! Although Jericho regularly has really good movies, too, there are also those we'd not bother to see in a theater (or maybe even stream) because they are just not our thing. But at a drive-in? Heck, yes! Sitting in your car, talking, eating delicious snacks both from their concession and from home (because they're forgiving of that), staying up way too late to see a double feature. There's a big lawn at the front, and before the shows start, the kids (and some parents) play on the grass. We really, really hope Jericho will be able to stay in business, because we love going here. That's why we always buy something from the concession stand! Not everything, because we can't afford that, but at least popcorn and soda (diet Pepsi and root beer, bc half the sugar, half the caffeine, duh). Wait, I forgot to mention: THE ICE CREAM! Twist is worth the trip on its own, and it's open much more frequently than the movie part. Go! Go! Keep Jericho open! read more

ive been coming to jericho for many years, my most fond memories there being in my childhood. come to my surprise when this weekend i experienced an unwelcoming and rude owner. two nights in a row have i been given a nasty attitude. if owning a business is too much for you that's fine, but there is no reason to act so bitterly. the drive in is wonderful, and a great place to go with friends, family, or even just to go alone. the atmosphere before films is wonderful and the hot food is good enough. i absolutely would suggest this place to others, it is just such a shame to be under such sub-par ownership. read more

This review is for the ice cream stand. Definitely worth a trip. The menu is massive, and the selection of ice cream and other frozen delights is also a really really long list. Of course there's soft serve and shakes and sundaes. We went for the cups to try some different flavours. The brands are from Upstate New York, so of course much better than supermarket bought. I had Perry's Ice Cream's Queen of Hearts, dark chocolate ice cream with maybe raspberry swirl and chocolate hearts (can't quite remember) and lemon ices to cut it with. Both incredibly delish. We all had the small cup, which is really large, and the prices are excellent, way lower than non-Albany cities' ice cream places. We all licked the cups to get it all. Eat outside, take it home, it's a great place. read more

This drive-in takes me back to the 1920s.. Tip - find a portable, battery operated radio and bring it! It will save your car battery. In case you don't have one, they always have jumper cables and are more than willing to help you out. Rain or shine Jericho rarely cancels a showing (unless there are thunderstorms) so give this place a try! read more

Sure, the prices have skyrocketed in recent years and the location can get very muddy during rainy weather (don't wear your favorite shoes!). The food is 'meh', the bathrooms are a little scary, and they only take cash. However, Jericho Drive-In is far cheaper than the traditional theaters, with two movies included each night at $8 for adults and $3 for kids 11 and under. And Jericho gets a solid five stars when it comes to people watching. I can't say too many bad things about the patrons here, because I've obviously visited the establishment myself, but ... wow. I do generally prefer the Hollywood Drive-In in Averill Park, only because they are more likely to show R-rated movies, while Jericho is family-friendlier with lots of G- and PG-13 options. Overall, the drive-in is not an activity I'd highly recommend, but something different to do if you feel like engaging in some fun 50's nostalgia. And they are now open every night of the week. read more

Great drive in theater and some tasty ice cream! Ordered their specialty sundae the Magic Carpet Ride. Good portion size not too much fudge and nice light whipped cream. A little on the pricier side for a sundae but I will likely order a cone next time I'm at the drive in. Drive in movies are awesome! My wife and I have been coming here since the 70's as kids with our parents. We didn't know each other then. Now my kids bring there kids here. We love it, the owners are nice! Ice cream joint at the theater. Sweet! We RARELY go to a theater. Rude people always talking and messing it up. Dirty theaters are common place. Will be coming here til we die or they close. Unfortunately had a terrible time at Jericho tonight. $40 entry for my family of 4, $60 at the snack bar just to leave Venom an hour early. The car next to us was running the entire time which made it impossible to hear the movie sitting outside of the car. I quietly asked the staff to request them to turn off their running car, the staff said they would love to walk around and tell them to turn it off but never did. People were smoking cigarettes in front of us-just kind of rude with little kids sitting behind you. The screen is also darker than other drive-ins such as highway drive-in so it was harder to see the movie. I told the staff about our experience and the young guys were polite and wanted to help rectify it with a manager but apparently couldn't find one, so we left. Sadly, wont ever be back. read more

I grew up in the UK: drive-ins were not a part of my childhood, and had not been a part of my adulthood either. So when we went last night for the PTA fundraiser, I was unsure what to expect - to be honest, my expectations were low. I was wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong: this was a delight. [Much-aided by the weather, to be clear: it was pleasantly warm, fading to cool (take a blanket!), no bugs, no rain. First good news: the projection is excellent. Theater quality easily. The sound is *also* excellent and comes from a hyper-local radio station via your car speakers - there was some announcement about speakers on poles that you could use but I didn't see any. Because there are different sources, there's a lag between picture and sound on occasion, but it's minor. Second good news: the ice cream is also excellent. I had a superb italian ice; the boys chose between soft- and hard-serve, all provided with smiles. Match this with a beverage of your choice brought from home: yum. Third good news: your neighbors are likely to be there. Our younger son spent the first movie in the back of someone else's car :). And last: it's good value for a double-header. Because they play after dark, it was way late when we got home, and the movies weren't actually that great, but as a family outing it was a joy and I am sure that it will be a date night event soon also :). read more

Retro night takes us to the drive-in once or twice a summer. We love hopping the entire family into the car, PJ's for the kids (even at 17), blanket, a cooler.... Each time we go to Jericho we say why has it been so long since the last time. The screen is huge, the sound is great and the popcorn with butter is yuuuuuuummmmmmyyyy. Also, the ice cream stand has a delicious thing they call crunchy cream. They twist a candy into the softserve. It's not a tornado... its in the ice cream. They also have great hard ice cream. My family and I went to this drive-in hoping for a great experience, but it wasn't what we where looking for. The movie started when it was still a bit bright outside and we couldn't make out the first 5 to 10 minutes of the movie, especially the captions. Plus, during the movie there was several planes flying in for a landing at the local airport, so it was a bit distracting. There is also a nearby road where there was some traffic and everytime a car drove down the road, the screen was difficult to see behind the shadows of trees and power lines. Overall, we were very dissapointed in our experience and we will not be returning. read more

My boyfriend and I go here after least a hand fun of times each summer! A great date place! The have the best popcorn and best ice cream! So much cheaper than going to one movie somewhere else. They usually have pretty good movies playing. They show a lot of action movies. The appearance is a bit out dated ans could use some renovating. Overall a great place!! read more

I've been going to this drive-in for 30 years or more. My parents took us here on occasion. I've continued to visit when back in my home town of Selkirk. I've followed it into the updated projectors, sound and new screen and the addition of the ice cream stand. Always loved this place and will continue to visit. read more

- LUV this Drive-In. One of the few remaining drive-ins in the entire capital region. A total throw-back to the 1950's. Pricing is very good. They have Two concession stands. The usual burgers/hotdogs/etc is normal drive-in fare, and their new ice-cream stand is rocking. A family owned/operated business, these people do a great job. Also, there is No "charge" for bringing in your own food, like a certain other big drive-in. I highly recommend checking this place out. Going to the Jericho, is a yearly event for us and many of our friends. read more

I have been going here for maybe 20 years and it's always a treat. Drive ins are rare, we are lucky to have one. This one has an excellent snack bar and ice cream variety. Always love bringing guests to the area here. Only problem is the movie selection isn't that great, but I go more for the experience so I'm willing to watch something kind of bad. read more
