Please Read: Worst Facility. I am writing this review in hopes it will help you make the choice not to go here or tell your loved ones not to go. All the bad reviews of this place are so similar it's scary. And I'm sad to say my experience is the same as those google reviews and yelp reviews. My sisters boyfriend(22) was dealing with issues and went to this place as a way to better himself. When he got to the facility using the last of his money he was turned down due to a psych evaluation and they said he didn't pass(seemed like a half assed excuse considering him being young and really wanting to better himself). He texted my sister that they kicked him out (this was at night and in the cold) and he will have to take the greyhound back. He texted her he'll be home at 3AM but that his phone would die soon. It's been 2 weeks and NO CONTACT! His phone must have died that night because I have called him every day since and it went straight to voicemail. He is MISSING. This facility has a pattern of turning down people for small unreasonable reasons. Then they end up missing or dead. At this point I'm preparing for the worst. He is either missing or dead and in researching this place I found this was a pattern. It's so crazy. I don't want to think it's a conspiracy but this place might be doing malicious acts. You never see or hear from loved ones after they go here. Please advise then Not to go. Please don't go to this place, it has a demonic presence. This program is not for everybody but for those who are sick and tired of living the life well then this program might be for you but just know it is a very strict program and you can't have calls for an entire year. But it's for a good reason it's the t time to work on yourself and not have any interruptions for your family. To the previous negative reviews, they have no clue what the program is about. They teach you life skills they have vocational programs that you can earn certificates for. They build real men here trust me when I say this is a good program. I am 42 and I spent roughly 15 years in prison multiple prison terms never having a real job ever. I left the Jericho project on march 30 2020 and I am now a GM manager for Vons grocery store I never thought I would ever be a positive member of society. My daughter's boyfriend is a success story from the Jericho project. About 6 months ago, until 2 weeks ago I had the same worries and fears for him that it seems many others are experiencing. We didn't hear from him for a year. I set an alarm on my phone a year ago that just said "Nick 1 year" and it just went off 3 weeks ago. Still nothing, no word. Then a few days later I was a call from my daughter, finally, the call we were waiting for. He was finally able to contact us and he looks amazing. He got to work on a farm, he was training for MMA fighting - this kid went from being paranoid and strung out to looking like a pro wrestler and becoming a manager for the program. He found his place in the world and i couldn't be more proud of him. 1 year is nothing when you see the transformation that occurs and 1 year is what it takes to accomplish that, no less. So if you are like me and my daughter, calling the program, harassing them, sending welfare checks and all that, stop. Give them that time to heal, it's what they need. There are dozens of reasons they can't contact you, all for the residents best interest. They will get in touch with you and you will see amazing progress, it's worth the wait. read more

I'm writing this review from a parents perspective. My son voluntarily (not criminally ordered) entered this program. Four days later he was asked to leave this program based on a disagreement with program leader. This was late at night and he had no money. They were nice enough to give him $20 but he is from S. California with no knowledge of N. California. He had nowhere to sleep, and on top of this they kept his private belongings that he entered the program with. They said he could comeback in 72 hours for his personal belongings so that's what he did. Unfortunately, they refused to release his belongings. Jericho being a block from the police station my son decided to seek their help to retrieve his personal stuff. The belongings were returned with the help of the police, however, his personal items had been gone through and anything of major value was taken. I am seriously considering a lawsuit against Jericho Project using a Bay Area lawyer at this time. Do your self a favor, DO NOT SEND anyone here that you love. Son was taken to JP on Monday May 5, 2023, Released/Expelled on May 8, 2023 I was told because of his record of arson that he is not eligible for JP program an issued a bus ticket to return to Ventura Greyhound Bus Term, Then May 12, A good Sam seen our son sitting on the ground against a tree so he call 911 and he was found dead from drug OD. I must say my husband contacted this program program and stood in contact with the rudeness of the other man on the other line he did everything he was ass he got sober up alcohol he was hospitalized for four days he made sure to shave his hair on his face just to be let down and treated like he was nobody and told that the program wasn't meant for him when I thought this program is supposed to help men that I've lived a hard child life and went through a lot of stuff in life my husband was an alcoholic not anymore he's been six days clean he was ready to go to the program and all of a sudden next thing you know they tell them this program ain't for you I asked to speak to the supervisor and got hung up on then my husband got a callback stating that it was because of his medication which he's only a diabetic so that should've been a cause for them to turn them away so I guess this program wasn't meant to be and whoever that man was on the other line was an evil evil man so I wish the best for whoever is going to this program or starts going to this program beware because there is very very a lot of disrespect and they are not here to help obviously because if they were they would help my husband this just made him stronger and he kept his sobriety and now we will look for a better and bigger project read more

Finally a older white military style ,that gave me such an uneasy feeling in my stomach Turned out to be Chuck the owner. When I was invited in I saw men there that im guesing were the clients that looked scared to say hi or to even look up at some one no eye contact. I felt as they were brain washed or even scared. All I wanted was to know if that person was ok ? they were able to receive incoming and outgoing mail? also why no one had heard from him in over 4 months? instead Chuck lied to me in my face! He made me believe I would get to see him. He made me have to waste money on lodging because of his lies. When he finally said I could after 2 days waiting I drive to the office and hes not there or going to be there for the rest of the day. With a message left to me saying ;don't call me or come back to office I will call you tomm. morning. I had to fly back home but I never to got to see my loved one, never got my questions answered about straying in touch with a person going there? Was lied to so many times and now that im thinking why didn't I go back there with the cops whyd did I let this man scare me? There must be confusion as to this establishment because the Jericho Project listed here is not a gardening service but a men's residential & rehabilitation center. On approximately Wednesday, May 23rd, my younger brother - who just turned 22 - applied to this program and was accepted. I am really glad that he did too because his lawyers did not want to even consider this incarceration alternative program as an alternative! My brother is now 22 and has committed very very petty crimes but has been targeted as a habitual criminal offender by our criminal justice system. You really want to know what he did. He received a strike for being the in the passenger seat of a supposed "friend" who sped off during a 1/4 oz marijuana sales with the victim on the of hood of the car. The "friend" who was driving made a sharp turn and the victim was thrown to the ground and was in a concussion for 3 days. Now, because my brother was in the car and the "friend" made a plea bargain with the DA of Hayward, CA, my brother - 18 at the time - went to jail for 3 years. Out for only 6 months, my brother was at a club - Fahrenheit in San Jose - with 3 friends and our cousin. 1 "friend" stole a wallet from somebody in the club without my brother knowing. Once they exited the building, the victim pointed to my brother and then to my brother's friend and said "She's the one who took my wallet." The cops asked my brother if he was on probation and he said yes. The wallet was found in the "friends" purse and she even said, "He didn't have anything to do with this." Still, my brother has been in jail for the past 3 months and she just recently attended a pre-trial court hearing. What a BS criminal justice system. So, my brother - given a 1 1/2 year, no strike deal - wrote a letter to the Director of this program and was accepted. However my brother's lawyers said that the Deputy DA of Santa Clara - Paul Jin - said he would not let him go to this program. Instead, Jin would rather go to court and attempt to put my brother away for up to 10 years! I hope my brother gets to attend this program. My brother is not "bad" at all. He does need help with his character but not jail or prison incarceration. read more

My wife occasionally gets into weeding manias, and the last one resulted in three huge piles of weeds. Problem was that trying to have them removed one yard waste container at a time was going to take forever, so I called Jericho Project (JP) to see what it'd cost me to have them remove it. I dropped by their offices on a Monday afternoon and they promised to have someone call me. Tuesday morning I got my call, I responded Wednesday morning, and they came over right away. I'm told JP prefers that their customer name their price, but I hate that model so I asked them to price the job -- no cleanup, just removing the three weed piles (already weeded, obviously). They quoted me $150, which struck me as a little high. I'm not big on negotiation, so I figured I'd pay it this one time and not use them again. Thirty minutes later, they had about five guys at my house. They worked for about an hour and a half, and were done. You may be thinking that removing three piles of weeds shouldn't take five guys an hour and a half. You're right. It doesn't. What DOES take five guys an hour and a half, however, is: Removing the weeds. Actually finishing the weeding job. Thoroughly sweeping and cleaning my yard (both front and the two sides) Picking up all the garbage (and dog poo. Eww) Sweeping and thoroughly cleaning my driveway Sweeping and thoroughly cleaning my sidewalk. Saying these guys went above and beyond the call of duty is like saying that going to the moon is a little harder than hitting the local 7-11. These guys cleaned my place in ways I hadn't even thought could be cleaned. They were unfailingly polite, friendly, thorough, conscientious, and GOOD. Maybe if I negotiated I could have gotten a better deal, but I'd frankly rather pay a living wage and $150 for about 7.5 person hours translates to about $20/hour, which strikes me as eminently reasonable (if there's a fee for getting rid of the weeds, they certainly didn't charge me for it). I'd use them again, in a heartbeat. They're fantastic. read more

Most in this program are placed there by the county and state and all have long sentences over there head if they don't complete their time within this program. Ive been in this rehab for seven years. It is like some kind of weird christian science cult. And you are not allowed to leave.

I am a parent, my son attended the Jericho Project for 9 of his 12 month requirement. January 2019- September 2019. I have encouraged him to write a review, but since he has not, I will give my opinion as a mother. This program saved his life. He was addicted to heroin. He entered Jericho with only a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. No ID, and no drivers license. I did not hear from him for three months. There is no communication from anyone for any reason. Do not try to call, they will not answer. I have been an educator for 47 years and have had my share of challenging students. Sir, the director of the facility, has my deepest respect. He manages 100 very difficult and challenging men. Your loved one will EARN privileges, they are not 'given' anything. They will follow a strict, structured and rigid program. My son received clothes, food and shelter. He earned glasses and the opportunity to participate in 'crossfit". (Crossfit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and nutrition.) Each day began with a military style exercise program. The men are taught to be self reliant. They prepare their own grocery lists, cook, clean, do their laundry and work at various jobs daily. My son's day began at 4:15 am and he went to bed at 11:00pm seven days a week. Sir refers to his program as the "Navy Seals" of recovery. Sir is demanding and has zero tolerance for tobacco, drug, or alcohol. They do not receive any money, however, they are provided shelter, food and clothing.There is no 12- step program or counselors. You will not have any possessions while living at Jericho. There are no tv's, computers, or cell phones for the entire 12 months. Sir was verbally abusive, but my son never saw any physical abuse. This program builds character. This is not a prison. Your loved one needs to choose this program and expect to work hard every singe day. read more

It has a negative free environment that pushes you towards fitness and spiritual Growth and keeps the days full structured and long the founder is an inspirational man who is knowledgeable on many things concerning rehabilitating yourself and is very strict and as well as the other directors who are not as inspirational but are dedicated to keeping the clients on tract not all the staff are as dedicated as should be due to some favoritism as they went through the program as all staff members do and how much of a asset they have potential to becoming totally understandable the have a few opportunities available for the dedicated clients that involve themselves in everything Jericho does while maintaining a leadership role. I was impressed altogether by the entirety of the place as I was previously a client there. Although it's very strict, critical of behavioral problems and sometimes down rite exhausting my only real complaints were the clients acting as children in leadership roles and not setting proper examples to the new clients the were giver management and lead man positions over being very hypocritical. And than the staff and how they handle issues and behavioral problems half of the time it's looked into and resolved appropriately thus growth is achieved and lesson understood The other half of the handled instances are not looked into and disciplinary actions taken without doubt of source and incentive considered of the management roles and manipulative behavioral problems associated with dislike of one's character and there trusted roles unearned, credibility playing on manipulation tactics and down rite deception. Simply said its a good place that's strict but getting on a clients dislike list can have you removed from the program and left stranded without question of possible deception. Failure is almost certain if your personality is not liked and you have no leadership role. Considering percentage of leadership roles is high being 1/3 of population of the community leaving to many life long manipulative personalities in control of your development and there uneducated assessment that is deceptively presented to staff members who question not the integrity of the source even when you predict the situation beforehand leaving you wondering what am I learning from this experience and how does it benefit myself after being punished and loaded down with endless chores and responsibilities after being told I'm not serious and am getting kicked out one more mistake away feeding the ego and revealing how easy it was for them to do it again .don't leave your hard hat for work .was my only real mistake that I made besides having a sense of humor in front of the wrong alumni client witch opened the door for opportunistic personalities to manipulate there way to advancement... The director and founder is the person I will continue to be inspired by and would have loved to work with more so I can learn what he does and how so I can do what he does one day ..but here I am giving a honest assessment of his program read more

My son got put out because he got infection from wrestling they have them to do there at Jericho. This infection was nothing serious but they accused him of lying on his application he's not a doctor he's an addict. They made him leave give him $20 would not let him take his things left him in San Francisco my son appreciates the help that he did get there and did not want to complain. Landscaping work is great! They are reliable and dependable. But they do other stuff too. ..... Car wash on Saturdays in Brisbane. All hand wash special attention paid to both outside and inside vehicle. My brother went to this program and I have nothing good to say about it not only did they not give him medical treatment when it was needed they told him he needs to continue in the program without contacting our father or step mother to get the treatment he needed. After the incident where he was unable to contact Family to get medical treatment, it went downhill from there my brother worked on Jericho's farm in once he realized the pigs were not inspected by the USDA he approached the founder Chuck. Chuck really wanted him quiet , forchuck being an ex-convict he sure knows how to handle these young gentleman in this program who need help not need to be manhandled and played for fools. The only thing this is, is a legal hustle Chuck hasn't learned anything from his time in the penitentiary except how to take advantage of the young men who.need.help for free work and treat him like s***.
