This place is such a gem! I honestly can't believe Springfield has this amazing restaurant. My brother recommended we eat at Jerk Shop Go for lunch today, and I wasn't that excited because I haven't eaten good Jamaican jerk bbq. They were unfortunately/fortunately out of chicken, so we ordered beef quesadilla, beef burrito and beef nachos with two jerk egg rolls. AMAZING! The food is so flavorful, unique and delicious! Absolutely delicious! I don't have much experience with Jamaican foods, but the food here is excellent! Kind of peppery with other subtle flavors mixed in. Y'all.... If you haven't tried this place, get out there and try it now. I'm from out of town, but I saw the great reviews and decided to try it. I was greeted by the nicest two employees. They both gave me wonderful recommendations on what to order. I got the jerk chicken nachos with Doritos, jerk chicken egg roll, and corn. The male employee told me the chicken was the way to go, and man. He sure was right. It had amazing flavor, spice, and was so tender. The egg roll was delicious. It had that amazing chicken with some very good veggie mix and paired with a perfect sauce. I have never eaten food so fast. Next time I am back I'm town, I will definitely be back. read more

Upon entering, we were kindly greeted. Wait staff at counter were eager to offer suggestions on what we should order. We took them up on their suggestion: the Jerk bowl. My partner ordered the beef without cilantro and light on the onions. I ordered the chicken with no holds barred on the normal add ons. The ambiance was industrial and clean. Had some lively music playing. We did not have to wait long for our entrees. My partner's special order was accurate and like my order, attractive. They served us a tortilla a piece. The chicken jerk bowl was temperature hot and had great flavor. My partner had no complaints either. The owner came over to speak with us as did, Leslie, the wait staff to see if we needed anything. This food was absolutely amazing. I came here on a Youth and Government trip and this food kept me going. The prices are reasonable and the flavors are amazing. Everything tasted great, the dining area was clean, and the service was warm and inviting. I really encourage downtown workers and patrons to go regularly with its convenient walking location near the Old Capitol Square. Their adaptation of an egg roll was unique but delicious. Also, the corn was spicy, but not overwhelming and has many flavors hitting you at once. A great addition to the downtown food-scene! They are getting a star rating of a 2 primarily because of the wait time. I placed my order at 12:18 pm and I did not get my food until 12:49. This is truly unacceptable.
