    Derby day party.

Have been eating here for years and it has always been good. But lately it's GREAT! New menu items, new staff, new events like bingo and entertainment, new building going up. Place is packed most nights, even Sunday now that the kitchen is open. And Sunday morning breakfast buffet is amazing!!! Only problem was parking, but owners bought the lot next door to expand parking. Keep up the great job!!!

Great food for a small town restaurant! I was surprised at the diversity of the menu. The place was clean and service was great. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was fairly priced.

Had to get a pic of the Cajun crawfish before we ate them all!

Service is very good. The food was ok. I ordered one of the daily specials and was not impressed. I've had better Mexican food elsewhere.

Spent a fun Columbus day weekend at Springfield and stopped in for their early bird dinner and it…read morewas fantastic! Took them a bit for service but it was great so we didn't mind waiting. Decorations were so cute and at 5:30pm, they were already packed with a long line out the door! We ordered the oyster appetizers, chicken Monterey, Cod Dejonghe and baked stuffed shrimp and it was all so so delicious. Came with this sweet butter roll that melts in your mouth. One of the best seafood we had in a while. Expect long wait but oh so worth it! Yum!

I particularly liked the cheesy and nicely packed Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp and crispy-topped Shrimp de Jonghe. Next up, New England Clam Chowder was real thick and creamy. And a Garden Salad was tasty with a lot of shredded cheese on top and a vibrant Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing. I also enjoyed my entree of Broiled Salmon and Au Gratin Potatoes. But it seemed like an odd combination. Others at my table of 10 ordered Fried Lobster Tails, Fried Shrimp, The Captain's Platter, Snow Crab Leg Clusters and Fettuccine Alfredo. Our principal server, Marlene R., did an excellent job of coordinating ordered food items with their corresponding diners. Food portions were large. So no one ordered dessert. We said our several goodbyes, and everyone appered to go home happy. Certainly, we all left the restaurant well fed.

Incredible seafood at very reasonable prices! Holy Crab offers authentic Acadian Cajun boiled crab,…read moreshrimp, scallops, and fish pots of several varieties and spice levels (cayenne & black pepper stands out more). They also have a few other Cajun specialties, including gumbo (one of my favorites) which has a subtly more Creole taste (tomato & paprika is more forward) and crispy sweet-corn hush puppies (reminds me of Paul Prudhomme's recipe which is more wheat than corn, and has sweet onion). I enjoyed our seafood boil dinner so much, I went back for lunch the next day. I got the Holy Crab sampler which features catfish, oysters, shrimp, a crab cake, fries, and I added a tilapia fillet. All of the fish was expertly prepared, and their batter is a rich and crispy sweet-onion batter with a dusting of corn to add to the texture. The portions were very generous for the price. I also got the egg fried rice, which was very tasty, and filled me up after a long day of walking around. For dinner, we went just after peak hours, and the service was fairly quick (for a seafood boil). It was much busier at lunch, but they were able to prepare and serve the food lightning-fast, even with a number of to-go orders being picked up during service. The staff are friendly, and checked on us regularly to top off drinks (we went with medium spiciness, which was perfect with iced tea). Holy Crab ended up being my favorite stop of my trip in Peoria. The food, service, and prices were all quite good. If I'm in the area again, I will stop here to eat for sure!
