I purchased a new mattress and adjustable bed frame from a Jeromes Bedding store in Santee (not this store in El Cajon). The mattress is only a couple of years old but it's now un-usable. The side wall of the mattress has broken down. This causes one person to constantly feel like they're going to fall out of bed. It's just awful. I had a service tech come out to check it and they DENIED my claim! We're still making payments and we have to now buy another new bed. IT CERTAINLY WON'T BE FROM JEROMES!! We came in just to look at bed frames and genuinely fell in love with one! They didn't have it available but they knew I really liked it so they offered the floor one at a discounted rate. I was able to add two bamboo side tables that I was originally eyeing and due to the discount was able to add them. They do offer financing through progressive and that was a plus! Everyone was friendly but what I enjoyed most was they allowed us to look around on our own and I never felt the pressure of someone trying to sell me something. Well unfortunately I feel the need to share my experience in an attempt to save other customers from being taken advantage of. I purchased a new mattress from Jerome's in January of 2023. The sales representative was knowledgeable and friendly. However after purchasing the top of the line $5,000 mattress (not bedroom set ONLY the mattress. I began to recognize sagging and a lack of support. Not only was sleep a challenge but I began to have back pains. Due to travel and a busy work schedule, I am only home 2-3 days a week so it wasn't on the top of my list. Knowing I had a warranty I felt safe not to rush to file a claim. Once I did get a break in my schedule it became an issue and I brought it to the attention of the Customer service desk. They promptly scheduled an inspection of the mattress and had a field rep come out to take measurements with a string. Yes a string!! no weights, no pressure measurements but a string. The field rep identified sagging as well and shared his results with Jerome's. Jerome's indicated it was within factory specs and their is nothing they are willing to do. I offered to pay a pro rated rate and even purchase a second mattress but they offered no assistance. It has been 2 months since I went in and stressed my concern and requested a second rep to come out to validate the initial inspection. I am still waiting for a response but as of right now, I am left with an oversized pillow as a mattress, My bank account is down $5,000 and I now have bi-weekly chiropractor appointment until I am able to purchase a new mattress or Jerome's is willing to step up and stand behind their product. Bought a couch from them last October- it's February and have been waiting for a since January. The motors in the couch stopped working in the "out" position not even 6 months old. The service department has texted from multiple numbers asking the same thing -to send pics. We have, they finally scheduled a delivery after 22 days from inquiring to replace the portion of the couch that is broken and the first delivery- they were so late that we had to go to sleep to make work on time- now right now is the rescheduled time and it's 2 hours past when they gave the window to be here. Over 3k for the couch and we are fed up! We will never buy from Jerome's again! We have dogs so we replace our couch every 3-4 years. I'm not surprised that the overall rating is 2 stars. I wish I would have looked at that before I went to Jerome's to basically furnished my new house. If you are looking for an overall excellent service experience, a one stop shop where you can get most of the furniture for the different rooms in your house combined with excellent service.- go somewhere else. My husband and I spent close to $20,000 at this Jerome's and we have had problem after problem and it's bordering now on comical. Unfortunately, for him, our sales rep. Jay- was wonderful! He's working amidst a lot of incompetence, unaccountability, and no follow through. I will say one thing that my husband and I did get the feeling that once the sale was made (because it was a large sale) all the problems that we encountered were all of a sudden no one's problem. Jay tries to help the best he can but the corporations ties his hands. Little example - they delivered the wrong couch. Completely wrong color. The couch I picked out was a cream color and they delivered a gray couch. They tried to tell me that the couch that I picked out on the showroom floor only looked like it was a cream color because so many customers had sat on it and it faded to that cream color- that the original couch was gray. I went back to the showroom and there's no way that the entire couch - the back of the couch, the side of the couch where no one sits were so worn that they faded from gray to cream? I'm calling BS on that one. So they bring the correct couch yesterday. The timeframe was 8 AM to 12 PM. They showed up at almost 5 o'clock. I literally was waiting all day long. When they get here, the truck is too small to remove the old incorrect couch. Then they were missing one of the pieces of furniture that we purchased with the couch, which was the side console. I had gone into the back of my house to get dressed. I told them I will be 10 minutes. I didn't want to be in the shower for fear that I would miss them so I waited until they got here. When I got out 10 minutes later, they were completely gone! Both couches - the new and old were in my driveway and poof! they were gone! Apparently, during rush-hour traffic, they decided to go back to get the console table that they forgot! I had already been waiting eight hours for these people and I had to go and get some things done since I was bound to my house all day waiting. Now I had to wait however long more for them to get back in traffic! They never should have left without checking with me first. I would've told them to bring the console tomorrow. It's been problem after problem after problem . The two gentlemen yesterday asked me are we putting together a couch and loveseat? I said no it's a sectional? They had no idea what they were even delivering. So last night I go to sit on the couch and it reclines. The seat that I sat in - that is supposed to recline - the reclining mechanism is not working !! They didn't bother to test the couch before they left! There's no cord there. So far so good. We've had our new sectional only a week, but it's been five stars for Jerome's thus far. I've read the horrible reviews, and they are aplenty. Most are for post-purchase customer service/warranty issues. We purchased the extended warranty so I'm hoping we will not encounter any of those troubles in the future. We entered the Jerome's store in El Cajon and had our COVID-19 temperature checked (97.5 for me). Becky and I had browsed on line so we knew exactly what we were looking for. I flagged down salesman Tim and he took us directly to the two sectionals we were deciding between. Tim proved to be an excellent host. No pressure sales tactics. He simply showed us our sectionals then left us alone. We chose the one we wanted and flagged down Tim again to make our purchase. The purchasing process was seamless and easy. We financed some of it and that process was seamless as well. We scheduled a Saturday delivery and assembly right there with Tim. We were in and out of the store in less than an hour. I received a text on Friday reminding me of my upcoming delivery and asking me to confirm, which I did. I received another text on Saturday giving me an ETA of 30 minutes. About 30 minutes later the delivery truck pulled up with two masked men in it. We showed them where we wanted the sectional and they got to work. They unloaded the boxes, carefully removed our items and brought them into the house. Once inside they assembled everything, plugged it all in and tested for functionality. It all worked great. They went back out, broke down all of the empty boxes, loaded them onto their truck and they were off to their next delivery. Easy peasy! Jerome's, you're sitting on five stars. Please. Also bought the warranty assuming that they follow through with it now I have a couch that barely has a bottom cushion. The cushion is falling through the bottom of the loveseat and all they say is that's not covered. We received our order yesterday, with issues a 8 inch crack and doors do not align or shut correct. One is high the other is low. We tried for hours to reach somebody from customer service via their phone number but said on a Friday at 1pm they were closed and to call back. Apparently as they rushed to refill the orders they lost in the ocean from the foreign company they usedit turned out to be a total piece of crap. We were waiting 6months for a technician to come out to tell us that the couch was inappropriately cushioned and was very poorly made!!! No duh!!!!!!! I run a business and try to make sure the customer experience is great from visiting our showroom to delivery of the product. We have been buying from Jerome's for years. We have vowed to never return again. We went in during their sale yesterday July 1, 2023 looking for a new sofa as they advertised free tax. Then we found out we had to buy $400 more worth of merchandise to qualify for the tax. We said maybe we could buy a mattress and the salesperson proceeded to show us the most expensive mattresses even though it was clear we were on a budget. We looked in the blooper room and found a nearly $3000 mattress for $1200 and were told the blooper room furniture doesn't qualify. We bought the mattress anyway because we needed it. We are on the hunt for something $400 so that we didn't have to pay tax and felt very rushed. The sales girl said the cashier is ready for you now and will have to move on. We found a chair for $396 so we were four dollars short and asked if they could raise the price $4 and he said I would have to talk to the sales lady because she has the power to negotiate so when we said to her can you make this chair $4 more expensive she got rattled and said I don't know how to do that. One of the finance gals said she would take care of that. We have had the lady that took care of us several times in the past and really liked her but yesterday it was like she was just not listening to us. My husband finally had to say to her...you need to listen to me. She was distracted and we felt like an afterthought. My husband said he would take our Sprinter to pick up the furniture the next day and return to the El Cajon Jeromes to get the mattress. The warehouse where he picked it up the guys were very professional and my husband who is a contractor told them where to load the sofa and chair. They did it just fine. Now he heads to the El Cajon Jeromes to get the mattress and he pulls around to the back and one of the guys is sitting on a white sofa getting ready to be loaded and has his feet on the sofa. My husband said DO NOT put the mattress in. I am going to tell you how to do it. The guys said they have to take the sofa and chair out and my husband said no you don't. Do not load the mattress. I will show you where it will go. My husband was in line 20 minutes waiting for the mattress to be signed off and they came in and said they were going to load the mattress and my husband said strongly do not put the mattress in until I get out there. He got the needed signature and the three big guys were loading the mattress into the Sprinter walking on our sofa and trying to squash the mattress in half. My husband yelled stop, I will tell you how to do it and they laughed at him like hey old man we know what we are doing and then they ignored him completely. My husband had measured already and there was a spot where it would have slid in but now all three were pushing and shoving and ripped the plastic on the mattress all to heck. A plastic cover in the Sprinter was knocked loose from their forcing the mattress in and it fell out on the street and one of the guys just tossed it back in. It is broken and to get a new one because it is Mercedes will be $100. We have two workers coming tomorrow to unload the van but because the mattress was put in so screwy and bulging and the three guys saying it will be just fine my husband in his 70's had to pull it out of the van and move it by himself into the garage. My husband is a very calm person and I have never seen him so upset. Please don't write your follow up of thank you for your review. *WARNING* I wish I had a better experience but I don't. I saw a beautiful dining set I wanted and ran through the financing options. Their progressive leasing option said I qualified. I completed the information because you cannot see upfront how much they will charge you by the end of the lease. When I got to the information of the leasing cost I was floored, it was almost double!!! A 997 table would have been almost $2,500 after taxes, delivery, and "financing". So of course I decided not to check out. I closed everything and didn't move forward with my transaction. Can you believe the Progressive Leasing company took out $151 out of my bank account WITHOUT ME EVEN COMPLETING THE TRANSACTION? I didn't purchase ANYTHING and they went ahead and took the first payment out of my account for something I never purchased. It got an email that literally says complete your purchase and check out at the store or online. So I called them and they said they cannot refund me because it's a pending transaction (i didn't purchase anything). They said they could cancel it either. They said I have to wait to see if goes through and if it does then they can refund MY MONEY THAT THEY STOLE FROM ME. Update - Jerome's did reply with they don't have access to Progressive Leasing's system but they do see I didn't purchase anything and so I should not have been charged. They also confirmed that the lady I spoke to when I called Progressive Leasing cancelled whatever agreement their system had (without a purchase) and I should have those funds back into my account soon. So my money is being held hostage for 3 to 5 bdays. Seriously, they need to confirm this won't happen again with this shitty leasing company instead of a bunch of well if you purchase before the 12 months, it's cheaper nonsense. I waited to speak to customer service before I wrote this. I purchased a new split king bed on Friday. It was delivered on Sunday. Great! Except we received 2 different mattresses. I called to report the problem and was told that I would receive a call back within 24 hours. After 24 hours had passed with no call, I called again. This time I was told that our request for the correct mattress had been approved. (How nice of them.) However the correct mattress could not be delivered for 4 days. I find it pretty ridiculous that a new purchase only took a day and a half to be delivered but it takes almost 3 times as long to fix their mistake. I have purchased several items from Jerome's in the past but have always picked them up myself. I will update this if/when problem is resolved. Hopefully this will put a fire under someone's butt... Couch set bought in January 17, 2022, with the 5 year extended warranty and white glove service. Handle for recliner quickly broke in April 27, 2022...was fixed on May the 4th (be with you...). Not a bad turn-around time. Fast forward to December 30 and the other recliner handle broke. Called December 31 and left a message with the answering service. (888-537-6337, directly off website) January 2nd, I I was giving Claim #5766042 and provided pictures as requested....thus begins this monthly convolution of calls. First I get a call stating that I'm still within the year of Manufacturer warranty, so they connect me to 'someone' at Jerome's. I say 'someone' because I was connected...provided pertinent information, then the call was 'disconnected'. I was on speaker phone at my home, so I know I didn't lose signal or hang up. Waited a day...no call back, knowing I didn't know how to reach them. Next day, called Jerome's again. Provided my information....again. Crickets.... Nothing...called (866) 633-4094 on January 9. Again provided all information. Again....crickets... Now did they "kick the can down the road" not caring about my broken couch, let alone my inconvenience? Called again today, 25JAN and left yet another message. Quickly approaching 30 days of not being able to use my recliner. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE this go-around. read more

My wife and I purchased a table and a sectional sofa on 3/14. We were told it won't be in until the end of the month. We called to follow up on 4/5 and the rep told us it will all be in writhin 6 days. Most recently I called on 4/21 and the rep told me the items aren't expected to be in until mid May he will put in a note and have the floor manager call us. It has been 5 days no call from management. The cs reps have been great and told me they understand my concern and this is something that happens often. Wow so many negative reviews and now I understand why. Jerome's sold us the oops warranty for a matching set of four individual chairs. One was damaged beyond their ability to repair so I lost the warranty on that one. The other three have loose electrical cords. My claim was denied because it was considered recurring. What does that mean? Is it because we had the same problem on one chair within the first year? Or is it because the same problem is on three chairs. We paid for a warranty on each chair. It is impossible to speak to a manager. Plus, they denied my claim but didn't have the curtesy to notify me in writing. I found out because I called to check on my Claim.
