Far off my regular routes but I was on this side of town. First visit, and likely last- it's closing at the end of May 2026. And I'm disappointed, because it is a fine Y. Yes, an older building, a little cramped in the locker room and other areas. But easy access, plenty of parking, friendly staff, and the workout area (the only one I actually used) was great. Medium-sized, plenty of machines open on a weekday morning. Looks bigger with the walls of windows, and mirrors on the interior walls. Everything clean and in good shape. It even has its own wetland/natural area outside, with picnic tables. Hopefully they will rebuild here, because it's a great location. read more

I think what makes me like the YMCA the most is that it reminds me of the Boys & Girls Club in my hometown. Watching the kids meet up there after school to play in the gym until their parents got off work was a nice trip to the past. I joined to take advantage of the gym and the swimming pool, as I was recovering from total knee replacement so this was the perfect situation for me. They don't have a great variety of gym equipment, but there's enough there to suit your needs. They have a great staff that is attentive and willing to work with you, no matter what the situation. I wish they had longer hours, but that's ok. They're open long enough for the great majority. read more

My spot never to busy I can get in and out in a timely manner, they have a sauna which is a must for me with any gym, just wish the basketball courts were bigger like the one in Gahana. But they have what you need to meet any fitness goals. read more

Its important to think of the YMCA as more than just a gym. Its important that the YMCA is more than just a gym. Its more than a gym. Ok... the premise of this review has been covered. If you are looking for strictly a place to work out, you will find what you are looking for but our YMCA is much more than that. The staff is nice and always willing to help. They do get rushed at the front counter sometimes, its a busy place, but they will give you your time and help you out the best they can. I really appreciate the child watch staff, the lifeguards, the trainer, the administrators at the front desk. I come here to work out, but I also bring my kids here to play, swim, and just connect with them. They always get excited when its time to come to the Y. They have participated in the classes and enjoyed them. We really like the outdoor / indoor pool. The greatest thing about this place is that its not all new, shiny and filled will hard bodies that grunt like a gorilla when they squat. Its filled with families. Our YMCA is all about family and I like that. Its why I don't go to any of the other gyms around here. read more

This is my favorite Central Ohio YMCA location. Most of the others are cookie cutter, exactly the same layout. This one is different and the weight area is much bigger than the other locations. One thing that can drive me nuts about a gym is that there is no space to do crunches or to stretch. This location is very open and has plenty of space for those activities. I also really like that there are *multiple* squat racks and they even have a deadlifting platform. The staff is also extremely friendly. read more

I enjoy the ymca because it shows different people from all walks of life coming together in a non violent way. I workout with young and old. Black white brown yellow and blue. I haven't ran into any serious issue except some young kids being young kids thinking they are too grown lol. The staff here is excellent and really friendly. The gym is nice and up to date. The only draw back are the locker rooms need a serious update. read more

I have only been a member for a couple months and wanted to find a closer YMCA than Gahanna ...I went to the one in Canal Winchester and was so so disappointed .There was a door propped open from the parking lot to the indoor pool and people were going directly into the pool area from the parking lot .There were so many teenagers hanging out and texting on their phones I couldn't hardly get through the hall and the indoor pool is only a fraction of the size of Gahanna. There just didn't seem to be any kind of structure or order to things. read more
