Aubrey and Blake shot my wedding at Deer Park Villa in March of 2016 and I loved every. single. minute. of working with them. First off, they are the coolest. As my husband said, "I just kind of want to hang out with them? All the time??" They were so peaceful and easy, which gave us the ability to relax, forget about their cameras, and enjoy ourselves. Because of ^^^ that magic, Aubrey and Blake are able to get THE most magical photos. Jerry and Ingrid are the awesomest photographers EVER. There I said it!! After hours of scouring the internet in search of the perfect photographer for our wedding, I stumbled across the blog of Jerry Yoon Photography. I was immediately hooked and looked through the whole blog in one sitting. When I cried after seeing one of the entry (YEAH I cried!), I know I have found our photographer. This is a long overdue review of my wonderful experience with Ingrid and the Jerry Yoon Photographers team. I cannot say enough good things about Jerry Yoon Photographers. They shot my wedding in Novato, CA in October 2022. From the get go, my husband and I knew that we didn't want our wedding budget to get out of hand but we both agreed that one of our top priorities would be to hire a quality wedding photographer and have stunning wedding photos. Lucky for us, we had a couple of friends recommend Jerry Yoon Photographers to us. From looking at their website, hearing about our friends' experiences, and having an initial phone conversation with Ingrid, we immediately knew that we had to hire them. My husband and I both agreed that we would spend whatever had to be spent to get the best photographer. I spent hours, and hours looking through various photographers I found via Yelp and various other wedding websites from coast to coast, and even in Canada. Jerry Yoon is a cool cat. You could tell he loves his craft. We met with him over a year ago to see if it would be a good fit. When talking with him, he seemed like a busy guy. Him and his team get work from all over the US. He said he just got back from the East coast. He's an honest guy too. He knows his style isn't suited for everyone, he lets you know that, and he wants to get to know you as much as you want to get to know him. I think he knew that we liked his work, but the style just wasn't exactly what we were looking for. This isn't to say his work is bad, because it's actually pretty cool and has that photojournalistic touch. So, why the review and give 5 stars if I went in a different direction? I want to let others know that even though we didn't work with each other, he was still informative and helpful during our consultation. We had not chosen a venue when we talked with him and he would give some suggestions as to some places he liked. We actually chose our wedding venue based on his recommendation. read more

We booked Jerry and Ingrid for our July 2011 wedding and could not have asked for a better team to capture our special day. He was recommended by a SoCal wedding planner. Because we are living on the East Coast and the wedding was on the West Coast, we could not initially meet in person. Good thing for the Internet because we were able to meet and chat via Skype. During the initial "meet and greet," we informed Jerry of our vision/feel for the wedding. He had questions himself and I could tell that he wanted to make sure that he was the right photographer for our wedding. That made me at ease because even though you may like a photographer's style, it may not suit your wedding style/feel and he's not the type of guy to just book a job that he's not suited for. Throughout the wedding planning process, he was quick with email responses and apologetic if he forgot to email when he said he'd reply back. During the wedding, Jerry and Ingrid were professional, laid back and even though they had a schedule to follow, they were able to be flexible as well. We got to know them better over lunch and they both seem so down to earth and approachable. The pictures came out gorgeous and I have gotten so many compliments on the angles and lighting techniques they used. They only thing I noticed (after I got my pictures) is that for the family pictures, my bouquet was covering my dress and I just wished that Jerry would have noticed that (as he was taking the picture and making sure everyone's face was seen) and told me to lower my bouquet. I was so happy with the pictures that I ended up getting an album as well. For the album process, I dealt with Ingrid and just like Jerry, she was prompt in returning emails and really cared that the album met all my expectations. If their style is what you're looking for, hands down I recommend Jerry and Ingrid. They will not disappoint! read more

I've hired Jerry for my engagement session and wedding day. He was great to work with. I love the fact that he knows what he's doing --- he goes to workshops to enhance his craft. He gave my fiance and I directions --- stand like this, look over there, put your hand here ---- on how to pose. He's very detailed and uses natural light to its full advantage. His partner Ingrid is a sweetheart. She was totally patient with me when we were going over the wedding album. They're very professional and easy to work with. Your search for a photographer stops here. I instantly became obsessed with Jerry's blog. The first time I viewed his blog I viewed ALL the entries. I soon became obsessed with checking it constantly for new entries. I still do today! They always had something new to show. Each shoot had it's own wow factor. I knew right away that I wanted Jerry and Ingrid to be our photographers for our big day. The first thing I did with the wedding plans was contact Jerry. There was something about their work that just made them stand out from all the rest of the photographers we researched. Their photos are FUN with a cool edge. Jerry and Ingrid are so wonderful. Gosh, this is gonna be a hard review to write... JERRY & INGRID ARE THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS EVER! Seriously. After looking through their website (www.blogjerry.com) hubby and I decided they were a must have for our wedding. Unfortunately, we were on a very short timeline for our wedding planning. We only had a 5 month engagement and Jerry books up the year before. BUT he had like three weekends in 2008 available so we planned our wedding around his availability. Seriously. That's how much we LOVE their work. Not only are they creative geniuses but they are just the coolest, funnest, and nicest people to hang out with. I wish we lived closer so we could hang out more often. Their professionalism, creativity, and flexibility really make them one of the best wedding investments you can ever make. They made fans out of all our wedding guests, too. During the wedding, my 9 year old cousin kept following Jerry around getting in his way, trying to talk to him about the pictures he was taking. My husband and I just received our wedding photos, and to sum it up, they are INCREDIBLE. Jerry and his team are masters at what they do. Just by going through some of the photos on Jerry's blog, we knew he'd be the perfect photographer for us. Jerry and Ingrid flew all the way to Philadelphia (where we live) to do our engagement shoot. Despite it being over 90 degrees outside, they were upbeat the entire time and made us feel incredibly comfortable. It's insane how creative they are with lighting and with making seemingly banal locations come to life in photographs. We loved our engagement photos, and were so happy with how non-cheesy they were! Ingrid even designed a photobook of our engagement photos for us, and we used it as our guest book at our wedding. Our guests loved it! Our photographs from our wedding far surpassed our expectations. My mom was afraid that our ceremony would not photograph well because we were backlit the entire time by the strong afternoon sun, but Jerry and Ingrid did an amazing job working with our poor lighting. They were able to capture the emotion of the day perfectly without being intrusive at all. They have such natural instinct and an incredible eye for composition and color. They also provided a photobooth for us with a clean white backdrop, and their associate Terence did an amazing job keeping all our guests laughing with our crazy props. We would be honestly be happy to frame any one of the photos they shot because each one has such a unique perspective. The utmost professionals, Jerry and Ingrid are easy-going, super-duper nice, genuine, funny, quick to respond to emails/calls, and most importantly, ridiculously talented at what they do. Jerry (and his team) is everything we expected from a wedding photographer, and much more. He's extremely helpful before the day of the wedding, helping us coordinate all the parts of the day, suggesting ways to make the planned photography sessions go smoothly and be a seamless part of the preparations and celebration. He's absolutely accessible by phone and email with any questions we had, and always responded promptly and usefully. On the actual wedding day he and his assistant (Ingrid was with him that day) were constantly in action, yet never intrusive. Formal family photos (and we had a lot of them to do) went by smoothly and efficiently without being rushed at all. Jerry was very respectful of the needs and wants of all the family members (even those who wanted to be sure to capture a moment with their own cameras first). He has great interactional skills, and we felt very comfortable in our photo sessions with him. We also hired him to do an engagement session a couple months before the wedding, and that was excellent. The resulting photographs are excellent. They capture the fun that we had that day, but also really speak to the underlying relationship that we have for each other. We'll definitely be cherishing those photos for the rest of our lives, and can't wait to see the results of our wedding day photography. We would definitely recommend Jerry to anyone for wedding and engagement photography. His approach to photography is perhaps not the most traditional (though he can do traditional shots when called for), and he has a distinct style that we liked a lot -- so definitely check out his website and visit him before deciding (obviously). Also, he is not what you could call a "budget" option -- but we thought it was worth it for the quality of the photography and the joy of working with him. This is a long overdue review for my amazing experience with Jerry and Ambrose. Here's my story: I moved to San Francisco for law school in 2008. I was the WORST at paying attention in class and was always scanning the screens of everyone's laptops in the room. One day, the girl sitting beside me had a bunch of wedding pictures up and I couldn't take my eyes off of them. They weren't your average pastel-hued, froofy wedding pics... No way. They were dramatic, stunning, light-filled images that were overflowing with emotion. After class, I sheepishly admitted I was creeping on her laptop screen and asked what website she was on. She told me a friend of hers had wedding pics taken by a guy named Jerry Yoon, and he had posted a bunch of them on his blog. That night, I remember going home and staying up til the wee hours of the morning admiring page after page of his photos. I've always been drawn to things like sun flares, intense shadowing, and bright colors, and the way he used lighting to evoke emotion in his pictures took my breath away. I was literally laughing and crying as I browsed through pics of total strangers' engagements and weddings. I swore that if I ever got married, he would be my photographer. Fast forward to 2015 when the guy I've been dating decides to buy me a rock. What's the first thing I do? Call Jerry and book him for my wedding! :D I knew from my years of browsing Jerry's blog that he would take magazine-worthy photos, but what I didn't know was how much fun it would be to work with him. He brought along another one of his team members to shoot our wedding (Ambrose) and the two of them were hilarious! They caught some pretty raw moments (for example, my husband running around in Union Square in nothing but a towel and a bow tie) and they didn't miss a beat keeping up with our kind of crazy wedding party. They effortlessly moved with us from Grace Cathedral to a cable car ride down California Street to our reception on the Embarcadero. (Extra love to Jerry who jumped in front of oncoming traffic a few times to get shots of our wedding party on the SF cable car!) When we first researched potential photographers, we weren't really excited about all the ones we came across; it's not that they had bad work, we just wanted someone who put the art first. First of all, know that I'm giving Jerry & Ingrid 5 stars without having even seen our wedding pictures yet. They were just that awesome this weekend! When we looked at photographers, Jerry & Ingrid were the first ones we met, and we picked them immediately. Their other work we've seen is stellar, and they were so personable and likable, that we felt good about having them follow us around all day. All of our guests commented on them... they were always in the right spot for the shots at the times they needed to be, but never seemed like they were in the way. They were both dressed very well, so they look great in any of our friends shots that they ended up in. Both are so much fun and funny and easy to work with. Around midnight after the wedding I couldn't find my best friend, and wondered if he had snuck out. I sent him a text saying "Are you here? You need to be!!!" Two minutes later I found him and didn't think about the text again. Turns out, I actually sent that text to Jerry... almost two hours after they had gone home. I was mortified... but Jerry was great. He wrote back "Aww sorry no, we're home... anything good happening?" I just loved that he genuinely felt bad about possibly missing some great stuff. Thank god he didn't get back in the car and drive 50 miles to the venue, I never would have lived that down! Can't wait to see the photos, I'm sure they are going to be amazing. WOW. All I can say is WOW. When my husband and I got engaged, we looked for a photographer right away. When we found Jerry's blog and actually met him, we KNEW he was good. But after the engagement session and photos, and the wedding, and the wedding photos, WOW is all we could say! I researched wedding photographers for over 6 months. I am a professional art director and retoucher in the advertising world. I hire photographers and work with photos for a living, so I am super picky. Jerry lived up to my expectations and he was fabulous to work with! We had a great time with and having Ingrid as a second shooter was a real plus! They didn't miss a thing. It is almost impossible to find photographers who can juggle portrait and candid style shots - all the while maintaining high technical abilities and artistic flair. It was easy to chose Jerry because the photos we saw on his website and in his portfolio were full of vibrant colors, natural movement, and captured candid emotions; it's undeniable that he's an artist and has a eye for one-of-a-kind shots that tell a story. What can I saw about Jerry and Ingrid and their photography/artistry. I wish I could give them 50 stars. It might sound crazy to say that my husband and I planned our entire wedding around their availability, but it's mostly true. We became obsessed with Jerry Yoon when we saw that he had shot a couple's engagement session with Oski in the Cal football stadium, and then when we continued to follow his and Ingrid's incredible, unique, hip, funny and stylish blog... They were just so fresh and different. They epitomized the attitude we wanted at our wedding: striving to be non-cookie-cutter, capturing candid moments that span the range of human emotion, and being goofy, light-hearted and FUN. Of course, this attitude is something that comes through when you get to know these two personally, but make no mistake- they are also fierce and on-the-ball professionals. We were so excited when they wanted to come to Boston, where we live now, to do our engagement session. What a great way to memorialize our time in this historic city, and spend time getting to know a great couple!!! We had no idea how the pictures would turn out, only that they would be phenomenal - Ingrid has such an amazing eye for unassumingly gorgeous backdrops, and Jerry would direct us to walk or kiss in a certain way, or make us laugh and just put us at ease (my husband is notoriously and hilariously awkward in front of a camera). Well, when we finally saw the pictures, we were floored. We couldn't love our pictures more - all 500 of them. And, unfortunately for J&Y, this made us love THEM even MORE. Spending our wedding day with them was amazing... I felt like we were hanging out with old friends! But again, they were both super professional and thorough, making sure they got all the obligatory family shots that were demanded, and I'm sure capturing all the touching, as well as embarrassing, moments. Finding Jerry and Ingrid was the best thing we did for our wedding, by far. We are so excited to see our pictures, and if we ever need any sort of documentation for any big event in our life, we will seek them out again. I guess childbirth is going a little too far. read more
