We took the Central Puerto Rico tour with Jerry in January 2023. We were looking for a tour that was accessible and was different from the many, many hiking/walking tours into OSJ or El Yunque, because we can't walk that far. This tour is mostly in an air conditioned bus, with only a small group (6 of us). We got out to visit a beach, take photos in the mountains, to go for coffee at a "real deal" PR coffee shop, and to grab lunch at an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant with delicious food. That was exactly what we wanted - a local taking us to places where no other tours went. We were literally alone at the top of the mountain! Jerry picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Condado. He is so passionate about PR and clearly loves what he does. He is funny, well-informed about the history, land and politics of Puerto Rico, and he was a wonderful guide. He truly cared for us and we got a hug at the end. In august I went to hike to a hidden waterfall in Charco Prieto Puerto Rico ; it was an amazing experience and THR waterfall was breathtaking, sooo beautiful, it was what I expected it to be; the hike wasn't as difficult and took me around 40 minutes to hike to the waterfall; I had a wonderful tour guide Jesus which was awesome and made the experience very nice; he was very knowledgeable about the hike and I felt safe all the time with him; he also speaks very good English as well. I absolutely LOVED my last day in PR thanks to this tour company...Jerry was energized and excited to share his time with us from the start. The drive up the mountain was comfortable in the air conditioned sprinter van, with lovely views of the local community & very windey streets. Once we landed at the road to the start of our hike, the adventure BEGAN!!!! Get ready to get your shoes dirty, and jump in that water- we lived, sweat, and LOVED the views. The hike was a lovely challenge, balancing on rocks over rivers, scaling stone, jumping over logs, and splashing through streams. It was Just Stunning The moment we arrived to the waterfall our jaws dropped with the amazing view...it was beyond amazing. I've never taken so many pictures of one incredible view as this. Best tour ever. Jerry is a great guy, and really cares about the people on his tour. You are never rushed and are always well informed of what to expect. He is always there to assist everyone on the trail and the rocks, and has his trail that he built lined with ropes to help assist you on the challenging spots. He is there to take your pictures, to other your food at the restaurant, to carry a backpack of waters, and to tell you the best way to go up the trail. Very fun hike up to a great view of the waterfall. A little challenging climbing over some areas and stepping on rocks to cross some rushing streams. Manuel was a great guide and patient with helping everyone over the sketchy areas...and entertaining us all day. Jerry and his adorable son, Gabriel, are amazing!! The whole experience was probably the best that I had in my 6 day vacation in Puerto Rico. He is friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, funny, and extremely helpful. The hidden waterfall excursion that we went on was amazing. One of a kind, really. Jerry helped me (I was pretty much the slowest and least agile of the group) and he was extremely attentive to me lack of rock climbing ability. There was a pack of dogs that accompanied us as well, and they were all adorable and friendly! The hike up to the waterfall, it isn't for the faint of heart. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit difficult (I was wearing regular running shoes) and the rocks we had to climb were a bit slippery (it was raining pretty much the entire time we were hiking). And when we got to the waterfall, the water was a bit chill, but refreshing. Then, there is one last climb through the waterfall to get to a higher waterfall! After the excitement and exercise, we were driven to a quaint little mountainside restaurant (outdoors). The food was great and you could literally have as much as you wanted. Jerry was your host and server. I honestly think that I couldn't have chosen a better tour guide. He picked us up from our Airbnb and dropped us off in Old San Juan because that's where we wanted to walk around after. He had no qualms doing so. He was also EXTREMELY good at communicating between the time I booked the reservation until the very end of the tour. From text messages to answering phone calls right away, he was always on top of it! I never felt like he was swindling us for a second. I never felt like I was in danger for a second. I HIGHLY recommend Jerry as your tour guide!! The price was VERY worth it! (The price of the food not included in the price of the tour, but still, WORTH IT!) read more

I don't know where to begin with this review. I was originally looking for al Yunque national forest tour but it was sold out. I took this hidden waterfall tour not knowing what to expect.to be honest I was really disappointed we didn't get the other forest. To my surprise It was way more fun than I had expected. No words to express how amazing this tour was! Hector and our driver John were amazing hosts and the main reason this tour was so incredible. The hike itself is a bit difficult for someone who is not an avid hiker ... however, once you get to the main waterfall it definitely feels like a great accomplishment. The trail is beautiful- you encounter rocks, mud, dogs... and tons of water! Some parts of the trail do have ropes that assist on more difficult areas to climb. Make sure you wear shoes that are comfortable, have grip, and don't mind getting dirty. Also Hector will be your personal photographer once you're at the waterfall. This tour would not have been the same without our guides ...it really shows that they love what they do. After the hike, we stopped to eat some authentic Puerto Rican food at a local restaurant "Los Checos"... I must say the food was so flavorful and definitely much needed after the day. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to add some adventure to their time in PR. 10/10 and worth every penny! read more

My group had so much fun on this tour ! Manuel picked us up from our hotel room and treated us to coffee. During the 1hr ish drive Manuel told us about the history of Puerto rico and we drove thru the hills and there We're beautiful views. We stopped on the way up to take pics and at a store and we're able to go to the restroom and buy drinks/snacks for the hike. The hike was about an hour to get to the water fall and it was so beautiful. We were able to cllimb up and take pictures. On the way back we stopped at a resteraunt that had an amazing view of the rainforest and the pork ribs were the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this tour!! if I ever visit puerto rico again I would definitely do this again! read more

After thoroughly researching tour companies and guides, I knew Jerry was the right one. My girlfriend and I were planning our second trip to Puerto Rico and were dying to go to the rain forest. After emailing Jerry he quickly responded and we exchanged numbers and we booked him. We were visiting during Memorial Day and he recommended we do our tour during the weekdays to avoid a crowd. We told him we were staying in an airbnb instead of hotel and he said that was fine, which was a great plus. On the morning of, we decided to get breakfast elsewhere in the neighborhood and Jerry accommodated our last minute request and picked us up from our breakfast spot. From there the trip only got better. He greeted us with hugs and we were introduced to another couple that was waiting in the van. During the drive to the rain forest Jerry educated us on Puerto Rican history. We stopped for snacks and to use the bathroom and were on our way. Jerry was able to reassure and adapt to everyone's personalities and we had a blast on the hike(both of us are not fans of hiking, but we loved it). After the rainforest we went to eat and learned more about Puerto Rico. After the day was over Jerry dropped us back to our airbnb after showing us around the neighborhood we were staying in. Jerry is funny, warm, personable and just a great guy to be around. He was accommodating and in tune with the wants and needs of his travelers. Next time we are in Puerto Rico we will for sure be using Jerry. I'm recommending him to everyone I know who's going to PR. I honestly wish I could take Jerry everywhere I travel because he's that great. Also, his prices are beyond reasonable for what the tour includes. Well spent day with our tour guide Hector. He really knew his history and botany of the ideas. He took his time to explain everything and helped us along the way. Jerry is amazing! He picked us up from our hotel, room is on a lovely hike to the waterfall. I'm used to CA hikes-- the PR hike is PLUSH. He brought four welcoming dogs with us on the hike. He took tons of photos and brought everything you would need-- water, sunblock, bandaids, etc. One of the girls couldn't swim, so he helped her take a different path (the swimming part was only at the end, so bring your bathing suit). Jerry was very accurate in his description of the tour, and even though he was very punctual and said we're going to have an amazing time on our way to the excursion, those words were still an understatement for the experience my new wife & I had! Was with 10 ladies total for a bachelorette weekend and this was the most exciting and surprising excursion of the trip. Jerry picked us up from our condo by the beach, drove us to the hike, he even dropped one of our friends off at the airport after we were all done. We always felt safe and secure during our hike, no matter if we were beginners or experts. He brought along a pack of dogs that gave even extra security and were very protective of all of us. The final destination at the waterfall was breathtaking. He ensured that our friend who could not swim found her way up to the top of the waterfall. He was stocked with water and sunblock for us. I do recommend wearing hiking shoes or tennis shoes with good grip. To top it all off, we went to an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant where we had the most delicious variety of food and cocktails with personalized service from Jerry himself. read more

JERRY IS AMAZING! Today we went on the full day rainforest and waterfall adventure (booked through viator) and he absolutely exceeding all of our expectations! From the moment we booked, the communication was great. He sent a confirmation text thanking us for booking, introduced himself, and offered to answer any questions. He reached out the day before the tour to let us know what time he would be arriving and the morning of the tour to give us the description of the van and his attire. Jerry is the friendliest, most enthusiastic, and welcoming person. We were joined by 4 other couples and he really made our group of 10 feel like a big family. He was very knowledgeable about all things related to Puerto Rico and very attentive. He had no issues making stops and giving background information about things we asked about. He let us spend as much time as we wanted at each stop. We made a little stop for snacks, went to the visitor center, hiked through the rainforest, swam under the waterfall, went to the top of the Yokahú tower, and stopped to see one last waterfall. Afterwards Jerry took us to this delicious mom and pop restaurant, Casa Boricuba (The grouper, the shrimp, and the kola champagne are a MUST). The drive back to San Juan was extremely pleasant. DEFINITELY SIGN UP! One of our FAVORITES! Jerry has got to be THE best person for this tour. He had so much passion and insight about the environment, lay out and island. He drove us through Bayamón I believe, had a great scenic view down, ate at a great little hidden gem of a bakery and then hiked into the rainforest and experienced the most beautiful waterfall ever. The hike was worth the while getting there (it was smooth, but hikes are not my thing), Jerry left no one behind, kept great vibes going, was funny and knowledgeable the entire time from the drive, to the hike and back. Right before the waterfall there's a "small" area that's 12-13 feet deep in the middle where the little fishes swim around you and get so close, they like nibble on you like those from the pedicure spas (it tickles and feels odd but so cool). Afterwards he took us to a restaurant that was DELICIOUS! I wish I remembered the name, but he will take you and it will be great. Definitely need tennis for the hike, but most deff need water shoes for when in the water if you choose to because of the rocks. Go with Jerry, it's remarkable. Jerry is honest and communication is awesome. This hike was an experience of a lifetime. The waterfall was gorgeous and the hike was so much fun. He pointed out some cool plants along the way and my kids continued to look for those plants for the rest of our time in Puerto Rico! I'm in my 50's and I was able to do it - a few spots in the hike were challenging but Hector was right there next to me so I always felt comfortable.
