Today's market was showing so much color everywhere you looked! Fresh produce, gorgeous flowers and yummy breakfast sandwiches! It was great just enjoying my breakfast on a park bench, surrounded by all of the beautiful azalea bushes that are in full bloom! My only complaint is that the park has a narrow road coming in, and when there is a beautiful weather day like this it takes about 30 minutes to get in and park. Definitely worth the visit if you have never been!

Now I come occasionally to check it out with my friends still in Southside. My favorite vendors that come here are Maharajah Coffee and First Stop Donuts. I love the people running them! I enjoy that it's right in the park so there are quite a few benches to sit on. There are also fun paths to explore with a warm drink and yummy snacks. I highly recommend ordering goodies from the vendors then having a picnic in Forest Hill Park. On my recent visit, I bought some rainbow carrots, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, fennel, and Europa fresh bread. As it gets colder there can be fewer vendors, but they carry everything you could hope and dream of. I loved checking out a vendor that sold holiday candles. There is tons of parking here and it's easy to bike or bus to. I'd recommend checking this market out.

They have some little carts to use if you need help carrying them - and they had fun pumpkins ! Green, white, pimply, big, extra small. All shapes and sizes. Such a lovely spot. The staff are there to help if needed and the hayride was fun ! Didn't do the corn maze - maybe next year.

I pulled over to get some Hanover tomatoes as the colorful advertising signs lured me in! I bought a few things, the tomatoes, some cukes, a few apples. Here's where I take my "stand"! I hesitate to say anything negative about local folks, after all, they are just trying to make a buck, but I was not impressed with the produce here. The strawberries were Driscoll's, the same as at any grocer and they were past their prime. The raspberries were fuzzy and the broccoli was not fresh at all! The prices were not even as good as the Food Lion down the street. But, I went ahead and purchased some fruit and veggies to support this stand. They don't take credit cards so I had to go to my car and hunt for change. The plants and garden décor they had for sale were high priced as well. The guy working there didn't know where the produce came from when I asked. I left and went to Food Lion and finished my produce shopping. Sadly, I wouldn't stop again, there are so many other nice farmer's market around that deserve and earn my business.
