Great place if you are looking for standard sports. Has new boxes of AEW cards. When available has boxes of WWE. No wrestling singles.

I called this shop to ask a simple question... having never been into a 'rookie shop' I have no idea what they carry... hence the phone call. I was looking for a box of football cards for my 8 year old son for Christmas and asked if they had anything non-collector that might be good for him. The owner started laughing (for an uncomfortable amount of time) and in the most condescending way proceeded to say 'if I'm understanding correctly, you are looking for JUNK. No, I do not sell JUNK at this store.' He continued his rant and it was so appalling that I just hung up. Customers should take their business elsewhere if they don't want to deal with an owner who is completely disrespectful and rude. read more

Fun shop. Has all the latest cards of every sport. Shop is clean and neat and the owner is friendly and knowledgeable, can tell you anything about the cards. Besides sport cards I also saw game cards there, like Magic cards. I could spend hours there browsing. He's being cautious now and has hand sanitizer handy for everyone to use, for everyone's safety. Doing a study on Idaho card shops, and right off the bat (No pun intended) we hit a shyster. The owner of this card shop is a transplant from Los Angeles and he brings his L.A. attitude to Boise and it shows in his business. The shop is dirty and musty. When you walk in it is like he doesn't want you in the shop. Most of his cards are expensive and low quality. Basically buying cards here means you are getting ripped off. What I like to do at card shops is to send in kids with expensive cards to see what the card shop will say. Will the card shop rip the kid off or be honest and give an honest card appraisal? Bottom line all three kids were told the cards are worthless and he would give the kids a dollar for the cards. We gave the kids rookie cards of Ken Griffey Jr, Joe Montana graded rookie card, and a Barry Bonds mint graded card. We thought he would jump over the counter and grab the cards from the kids. He did everything to talk them out of their cards for a buck. This is one the most dishonest trading card shops I have ever experienced. My advise is to stay away from this shop and go to a reputable locally owned shop. We will be hitting up more shops and seeing who the thieves are and who is honest. Word to the wise, stay away from this shop. read more

I've been going to Jerry's Rookie Shop since moving to the Boise area about 12 years ago. Sports Card collecting with independent stores who specialize in personal one to one service are all a thing of the past except for Jerry's. Jerry is a dedicated and passionate sports fan, just ask him about his Lakers and Dodgers. Even though times are tough for the Lakers, he still can be seen sporting his Laker's jersey. Jerry has football, baseball, hockey, and basketball cards as well as movie, TV and other non-sport cards. He has boxes, packs, and mystery grab bags plus supplies and price guides. Recently, when I was in his store, a young collector came into the store and while there, a couple of experienced collectors were buying $$$ expensive packs, he politely pardoned his from the the guys and gave his undivided attention to the youngster. He took the time to explain about cards, packs, and collecting. Jerry was very patience and caring, helping the youngster and his Dad as they were new to collecting. The youngster picked out a pack and immediately opened it up and saw that there was an autographed card inside. His eyes had that starry-eyed look and the Dad smiled from ear to ear. After the initial surprise and happiness, the youngster did not know what to do next. Jerry was right there handing the youngster a protective sleeve for the special insert autographed card. The youngster held tight to his new card and the father was extremely pleased with their experience. That's the type of person Jerry is. He's a sweet and gentle guy who has a wealth of knowledge about sports and collecting. I would totally recommend Jerry's Rookie Shop for any new collector or someone who's looking to continue their collection. read more

This card shop is pathetic. I went in today and there was only 1 lady working in there and I am pretty sure it was his wife. She was very rude and there was a dog running around in there that wouldn't leave the 2 others and myself alone. Very unprofessionally dressed as well, she was on a phone call with whomever telling them about her morning while myself and 2 others waited to be helped. I waited 20 minutes before she even asked me if I needed help with anything. The place was dirty, they had this huge heater attached to their ceiling that was loud and then made the place stink. They had starting lineup figures that were yellowing and bending because of how dry their store is. I didn't even look at the cards they had for sale because I was disgusted. Stay away from this place. read more
