The sandwiches are fresh. The customer service is great! The ambiance is nice! A good place to have lunch or dinner.

Their sandwiches are made-to-order right in front of you and it's apparent that all of the ingredients are fresh produce. I always eat classic (cold) subs, but they also offer sides & salads, flatbread sandwiches, hot and grilled options, and the like. There are two stations on either side of the counter which hold a variety of chips, and there are homemade giant brownies and chocolate chip cookies (literally the size of your face) next to the register. In addition to the soft drink machine there is a refrigerated selection of bottled drinks and water. The service is always very quick, even when busy, and the staff are super friendly. Most of the people behind the counter are women (I've only ever seen one man besides the owner) and all of them are pleasant and up for small talk whenever I visit. The longest I've spent in line has been about ten minutes, and that was with at least five orders ahead of me. This location recently got a huge makeover which has given the inside atmosphere a more clean, modern feel. The menus are easy to read, the signs are bold and colorful, and there is more seating which makes it a lot more attractive for groups of students on lunch breaks, while still maintaining the window bar overlooking the parking lot for individuals our couples. The prices are extremely reasonable and affordable given the quality of the food. Their sandwiches are always filling but never heavy, and turning your meal into a combo only adds about $2 with a drink and chips (or dessert). RC students who show a valid student ID get a 10% discount off sandwiches as well, which saves an additional few dollars. Overall, one of the best lunch spots I've ever been to.

Chef Jon Koobation took over the restaurant as Head Chef in 1985! Juan Reyes (Chef & Manager) currently is running the Bear Club and it hasn't missed a beat. After COVID slowed the restaurant down it is back with most of the same menu that Jon Koobation created. I used to frequent this establishment for years when Jon had it and it was frequented by many of the fruit packers, farmers and locals in the area but there are customers from Madera to Visalia and Dinuba. This is one of the last Icons in the area. It has a good vibe with low lighting and white linen tablecloths. Very clean and nice ambiance! We came in for lunch today. The appetizers are always so good. I always order Dungeness Crab Cakes that are served over Spicy Slaw, Remoulade Sauce and avocado. The slaw is what makes it and you have to eat them together. And then the Fried Zucchini Sticks that come with Apricot-Mustard Sauce. The way they make their sauces and house-made dressing are flavorful. The Crispy Calamari Fries with Zesty Heirloom Tomato Jam is good too. I ordered a salad that came with my entree with House-made Raspberry Vinaigrette & Dry Bleu. Try their Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing that I order every time!! Server asked if I wanted fresh ground pepper- that's a +! For the entrees we ordered the 2 specials for the day, 2- Shaved Prime Rib Dip that was a perfect medium-rare tender and juicy. Pan-Seared Salmon over cream corn sauce. Also recommend Grandma Koobation's Recipe Shish Kebab! Lamb Loin Charbroiled to your temperature. On the Dinner menu is Chicken George! Grilled Chicken Breast, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, lemon beurre blanc. It is Jon's special chicken recipe first put on the menu in 1973! It has been tried to be copied by other restaurants so this is a must try here! And leave room for the House-made ice cream! The flavors are Vanilla Frangelico w/ butterfingers, Chocolate Kahlua w/ heath bar, Meyer lemon w/ candied lemon zest (My favorite!!), And Pistachio w/ candied pistachios chunks!! Save room for dessert!! Come support this Valley restaurant! The Servers are friendly and front hostess are wearing white shirts and black pants. Everything is still so classy in this elegant restaurant! The food and the service was top notch! I will be back soon!! Chef Juan Reyes slogan is "Tradition with Vitality"! You must have a good experience! Closed Sunday & Monday Lunch: Tuesday- Friday 11:00-2:00 Dinner: Tuesday- Saturday 4:30-8:30

Patrons sat there and stared at each other for the most part with slow service. We knew it was Valentine's Day and had expected to wait, but to be fair to us, only half of the restaurant was filled. A dark haired woman walked by around 6:45 said she was going to come take our order, then we never saw her in the dining room or bar again. We never saw anyone's order being taken while we were there. Nobody ever came by. No bread. No drinks. Nothing. Around 7:10, we left and there was a line out the door, waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, the service was so bad, I don't think I could give this place a chance again.

This takes the regular sandwich, adds garlic butter and mozzarella. The bread is then toasted. The sandwich I selected was the "Ultimate Spicy Italian". This was a mistake, though it seemed like a good idea at the time. Pepperoni and Salami get really greasy when toasted. I tried to eat it on my way home and was way short on napkins. The grease just kept coming. All the napkins I got from the shop were used as a dam to protect the inside of my car and my clothes. All that mess, and I was wishing that I'd just ordered a regular Spicy Italian sandwich. To get an Ultimate, it adds a $1 to the sandwich. It may be better on other sandwiches, but not the Spicy Italian. As far as value, the price of a footlong Ultimate and a large drink was equivalent to much better sandwich delis in Fresno. I was told by some of the locals to go to the taco shop instead.

The manager said she can make her sandwich but she still has to pay again! My daughter is young and didn't want to argue so she's paid. When I went there to get a refund for the duplicate charge she told me there's nothing she can do. It's like being robbed. Wouldn't doubt if these jerks do this all the time. Just plain wrong. Once my daughter showed her the charge she should have to just made her the sandwich she ordered. Not charged her again. What a rip off
