The clam chowder is spicy and delicious. Almost too spicy for me. But definitely the best I've had in the Central Valley, hands down. The BLT was weird. I wasn't a fan. It's made like the cold sandwiches, on the sub roll and not much bacon. Tomato was good, I wish they offered iceberg. I wasn't a fan of the red leaf lettuce on the BLT. I'm excited to try another sandwich and see if it changes to 5 stars. Hopefully I'll remember to do a picture next time. When in different towns, I always try to yelp different food stops. I let the lady up front know that I found them on Yelp, and it was my first time. I had ordered the 1/2 sandwich + soup. She asked me if I'd I ever had their clam Chowder prior to me telling her it was my first time there. I told her no, and she let me know that their clam Chowder has a bit of a kick of spice if I'm okay with that. And I said yes, it course bc I normally add a dash of Tabasco to my Chowder. She told me that I chose the right lunch. Tasted the clam Chowder, and oh my goodness! Love the spice kick! It's just right. Anything that has natural flavors in the food is always the best when not having to add anything to it. Although when it comes to clam Chowder, I like mine a little more on the semi thick side and not too runny. Would I order the Chowder again? Heck ya! It's so delishhhh! They are newly reopened under new ownership and they are here to impress! We stopped in as a family of 4 on a whim and before we finished our food we were already planning our next trip back. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. The clam chowder was some of the best I've ever had. It had a little bite to it. Not spicy but super flavorful! No need to drive to the coast! The best clam chowder is here in Reedley! My husband had the super sub sandwich. He ate every bite. He also ate the remainder of my soup and bread bowl and insisted we come back immediately! Same amazing food with better hours! My husband and I have always loved the food here but, until recently, were never able to eat here because of the limited hours. The shop is under new ownership and the owner told me today they "kept the menu but extended the hours." This is great news! They're still fluctuating hours on Saturdays as they figure out what works, but being open at all on weekends is already an improvement and now they're open until 6pm Monday-Friday so we'll be able to get dinner as opposed to only lunch. The sandwiches are great and they serve Fresno State ice cream which is always tasty, but the real get is the clam chowder with cheesy toast. Reedley Sandwich Shop is a neat sandwich shop and cafe in downtown Reedley. They feature a nice assortment of sandwiches, soups, and salads as well as a coffee bar with pastries. I went with the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo (Veggie, Chili). The sandwich was nicely made and had a great balance of flavors. Also....the chili was rich and satisfying and chock full of meat. They constantly close for several weeks at a time sporadically and their business hours are from 10am to 2:00 pm. Its a little confusing how they maintain the stability of staying a prosperous business. The Reedley Sandwich Shop is an old, favorite haunt of mine. The clam chowder is absolutely the best clam chowder I've ever had - and that's saying something considering I've lived along the coast for about 3 1/2 years. The chowder is creamy, with a tinge of spiciness. The toast is out-of-this-world - cheesy, crispy, toasted to perfection. I'm getting hungry just writing this! Always make sure you order two or more extra pieces of toast if you order the large instead of a bread bowl. Thank me later! The restaurant is clean and is nicely decorated. The wait staff has always been kind to me, and has been nice enough to run over and clear the table at the end of our meal even though the restaurant is set up so that you can throw away your own trash. I'm so happy to say, finally Reedley has a family run business that serves great food and offers great service. My parents kept bragging about their clam chowder and I was impressed! There was even a little kick(I love a little spice)! I appreciate the option of bread bowl or cup bc I got the cup, the slice toasted bread was delicious. I plan to come back as I even enjoyed talking with the owner (if I heard correctly, Becky).
