Jesmond Dene Park - Lots of fond memories here from when I was a kid, I grew up running across country here and playing - Parks Near Me - Escondido, California

They updated the playground! Everything looks beautiful and new. The only downside is they got rid of the monkey bars. Other than that, it's a huge upgrade from the old playground, especially with the new shade coverings over different areas. The play area for older kids is completely separated by a large fence, and the younger kids have their own fenced in area too. No woodchips, no sand, no dirt....just great fun! read more

A park for Little league games and a small loop trail in the back. If you have a keen eye you can also see the Escondido Flume. We came here looking for the Flume which is located on top of tall hill behind the little league fields. You'll have to look for it because it's well hidden up by the homes on the ridge. The trail in general is not too difficult but because of the graffiti and some areas are very secluded I would not hike this one alone. Tip - If you want to get up close to the flume your best bet is to enter in Coyote Hill Glen, Escondido CA in your GPS and drive there.. It's nothing to write home about BTW, but I've always wanted to get up and close to it... Tip 2 - If there are little league games going on, you can drive behind the fields for extra parking. read more

Nice park to take the kiddos lots of room and bunch of baseball fields every one was enjoying themselves and having family time.

This park first of all is pretty occupied. Well it has been every time I've been here on the weekend but that makes sense since everyone is out of school for the weekends, the fields are usually being occupied by groups of families playing sports and there's no picnic tables open most the time except the one table that's sitting wide open in the sun...great way to get a free sunburn! There are some small nice spots where you can set up a little blanket under a tree and have a picnic, that's what me and my girlfriend did one time, but people kept walking past us and staring at us as if we were doing something wrong or like we were weird. What's so wrong with having a picnic at the park?? Some of the people seem a little judgmental here but that's the people themselves, not the park haha, plus it's not everyone, only a handful maybe because I'm sure there's plenty of chill people Another note, the restrooms here are disgustingly dirty, well the males was! I included some pics here so you can see how bad it was! But I guess it's somewhat understandable since it's a public restroom where kids, adults, and even homeless people could use. Not sure if they have designated people to clean the restrooms at the park but it doesn't really seem like it from what I saw. The park itself though seemed pretty clean for the most part so that was a good thing. There is a nice little trail that loops around and is definitely no more than half a mile walk, me and my girlfriend usually always walk it whenever we come to the park so that's a nice thing about it. I'll come here other times in the future but not all the time, there are likely better maintained parks around the area and possibly less crowded that I'll try to visit read more

One of the larger parks that the City of Escondido manages. This location is actually home to the American Little League during the baseball season. But, there are many different locations in the park to enjoy the outdoors!!! Parking is ample and there is a playground for the kiddies with a restroom nearby. The trees are very mature and there is great shady spots everywhere. Picnic tables abound, but, can be dirty because its under a tree and wildlife is everywhere. During the weekends, lots of parties are going on and you can tell it's very popular with the community for the place to be to have fun! During baseball/Little League season, it's nearly impossible to do anything on Saturdays, so check their schedule before going. During the winter season, the parking lot becomes a drop off point for dead trees... If you want a jumper for the kids, like any Escondido parks, check with the Parks and Recreation Desk for a permit. There's a limt for the park, and unfortunately, you can only use an approved vendor. They want to make sure the quality of the jumpers meets the City's standards. Opens a little after dawn, and closes at dusk. For the most part, it's kept clean and neat and is a wonderful location in north Escondido to enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings!!! I like this park, its mostly for little leagues with their ball fields, bleachers and their very own snack bar. Also included is lots of grassy area, plenty of parking and a playground. My favorite thing about this park though is the trail you can walk. Any trails that end in a loop are my faves. This one does, and in the meantime you walk past lots of dirt trails for bmx bikers, skaters and people playing with their RC cars. I have never been to a park that provides that type of environment in the area.I will return with the kids, over and over. Esco you have some cool parks! read more

Jesmond is OK - BE CAREFUL HERE - You see 'Freaks' prowling around quite often. DO NOT allow your kids to be in this park unattended. This place is Mexican central on weekends, they have huge parties here, I recommend planning accordingly as they take up a considerable area of the park. Not being racist, just calling it how it is! Mexicans have BIG families. Lastly, DO NOT leave your car unlocked here. It's in a great area but the place gets lots of riff raf. Thieves will hit and run in park parking lots looking for open cars to quickly steal purses and wallets. Being so close to Broadway and the freeway, it's a perfect place to hit and run. If you haven't stopped in Cardiff...for well anything than you need to! Cardiff is quintessential San Diego beachside happiness at it's best, and Cardiff State Beach is the portal for much of that much sought after San Diego happiness. Stretching from the south end of the Camp Ground to the cliffs located just south of town is Cardiff State Beach, other than having just passed some great restaurants, you will know you are here by the cars lines up along about half of the length of the beach, grab a spot when you see one, as they go fast and furiously on sunny spring and summer weekends. There is a very large parking lot at the very south end of the beach, but it is a pay lot, which will slap you for about $10 a day depending on the season. I have driven by many times, not finding a spot for miles along the beach, then the lot here is almost empty. It is a great standby. The beach itself is great for most any outing, there are rocks and sand, several modern lifeguard towers and you have the easy access to the several local eateries to recover after a long day of sun and sand. read more

Two stars for being the only closest Pokéstop. Other than that, park could be nicer and cleaner. Sucks that some parts of the park are tagged on. It's scary to see shady looking people in the park too. I would not even go past the playground all by myself. read more

Great park, lots of space and may ways to enjoy it. The park is also very unique with its very own public RC track which was built by one single local resident, 20 years in the making, and currently maintained the track builder and also locals who want to enjoy it and give back to tge community. People tend to jog around this park and work out here. Its a cool place to bring my kid to play as there are two separate playground, one for younger kids. This park has balance beams that many use to exercise on. This park also has a baseball field, restrooms and a trail that wraps around the west side of the park. read more

Besides baseball its better for little kids. Play structure area is adequate but not huge. Lots of trees and a few benches make it popular for family birthdays in the park, but people come way early to grab spots. read more
