It has both a large and small area for the dogs. Both are fenced in. Both have water and poopie bags available. For being in a neighborhood,it was pretty clean. It has a clay surface,like a baseball field. Which is what I prefer,no smell,and easier to keep clean. We lucked out,there was another beagle there today. To bad we really couldn't stay longer to play. But next time we know to plan ahead to stop at this place

It has a beautiful perimeter of trees and shrubs. Inside, there's open green space with a pond, covered picnic tables, and playground equipment. There's a swimming pool at the northern end, but I didn't explore that end of the park. Next time we come out this way, we'll have to enjoy a picnic here. Street parking only.

Three years later....and it's time for an update. This park has grown on me now that my kids are…read moreolder. Take note- there's no shade over the play structure so I'm sure the equipment gets really hot in the summer. Now for the update: The skate park is great. I've never seen aggressive skaters. There's also basketball courts and tennis courts. Parking has always been a breeze and I really love the covered picnic benches. The bathrooms aren't far from any area of the park and there are water fountains. I'll be back!

The park is pretty nice as well, you can paint a rock and add it to the snake rock garden if you would like. There's a couple small spots you can walk next to the pond and see some turtles, birds and ducks.

I start at the bottom near Silver Shadow and walk up to the recreation center. They're are restrooms and a faucet if you need water for your pups. I like to use the trails instead of the main walking road it gives me more of a workout. Keep an eye out for rattlesnakes from March through October. If you let them pass they aren't a threat. I do this walk/hike by myself it's never stopped me. I love it here

It's a refurbished park...and it's lovely! There are two basketball courts, a large grassy area, one nice playground, and a separate area for swings. It's really a great layout. The only downside- there are no bathrooms here. Plan accordingly!

The park isn't too big, but has a good children's play area. When I came there was plenty of parking. The tot lots were pretty busy. Tons of kids. 2 baby swings. My baby loved the swing and all the kids playing. It kept him busy. The grassy area was muddy in some spots. We came for a baby's birthday and they rented out the picnic table area. San Elijo Park has a recreation center that you can rent out that holds 80 people max and tables…read moreand chairs are provided. There's also a kitchen, private bathrooms and the yard is included in your rental. The place is huge!! It has a dance floor and plenty of lighting. We used it to throw our son's 1st birthday party. The tables were a little used but put a table cloth cover, it's all good! Chairs were fine. Kitchen had a fridge and microwave and even dish washing soap. The supply room had paper towels for the bathrooms and supplies. Weekend rental is an extra $$ compared to weekdays. They do give you an extra hour for clean up. We rented from 11-3 (4pm with free extra hour for clean up) and the cost was around $450ish. Pretty good for indoor space! One thing is the front door is not open and looks closed. Many of our caterers could not find this place. No clear signage to go to the parking lot for entrance.

I think this is definitely a great part of San Elijo. The grass is green and there are always people walking, running, sitting, and playing games here.
