Have you ever walked into a barber shop for the first time with fear because you don't know who's going to cut your hair and you are afraid they will mess it up? Yeah that was me. I stopped going to my previous barbershop because I'd had to wait up to an hour to be taken in WITH appointment. First, Jesse's Barbershop made me lose these fears I had. I come here every week, and I know that whatever barber does my hair, I will be sent home with a fabulous fresh cut because they all adhere to the same professionalism and standards. Second, you don't have to make an appointment. I am always taken immediately or shortly after I arrive. If not immediately, it is only a matter of a few minutes to be taken in because they don't book appointments, it's a first come/first serve basis, unless you are waiting for a specific barber. Third, Jesse's barbershop offers haircuts for all the family and a very low price, so please, make sure you tip them because you don't find barber-made haircuts and fades at this price. I've been there 3 times now. The first haircut I got there was great, and every time I went back it got worse and worse. Yesterday I went there and asked them to give me a fade on the side, keep the top and just thin out my hair a little bit. Let me show you a before and after. I asked the guy if he know how to thin out hair, and he said "Yes, Yes bro". I'd have been fine if he said he didn't know how to do it. To be honest my hair was still fine before he attempted. But now I have ended up with mostly short hair with some random long strand of hair here and there. My hair is SO uneven: it's Long on the two side and short in the middle of my head... I just have to go for a buzz cut at this point. And the fade on the side is not great either. It's not clean and some parts are shorter than other sides What I don't understand is that: he did such a great job the first time, and every time I went back it's been so bad. read more

Remember the phrase Keep it Simple? You just found a place that it is perfectly on display. This is a throwback to a time gone by. Nothing fancy to see here. What you see is what you get. And, the getting is good. There is an actual Jesse. His is the first chair you see upon entering the front of the shop. Outside of when he's at lunch (give the man a break!) he'll greet you with a genuine welcome. Not the kind employees are forced to do by their boss in the three letter pharmacy store. There's about five chairs in total, two that are "manned" ...by women. All of these barbers have been plying their trade adroitly for longer than your attention span will ever get. The price is affordable and cash only. It's gender specific and it still makes me smile when a Dad brings his son in with him for dual trims. There is parking in the back for free and they are open seven days. All the staff are friendly, experienced and knowledgeable in the tonsorial arts. (I don't get to use that word often.) First and last time here. Never coming back. The older gentlemen is the owner and I had less than a plesant experience. My boyfriend told him it was my birthday today so I can choose his haircut. We showed him pictures of the haircut I wanted. I told the barber that his hair was a little long and I'd like it a little bit shorter from the top. He then told me he would have to charge double and that I sould have said something. We clearly showed him pictures but I was not going to argue. I have a policy of pay and never return. He later asked if I wanted the additional inches off and I declined since he wanted to charge double. The cut plus beard was $50 which was more than he initially quoted when we asked. Do not let Jesse cut your child's hair!!! When my son complained that he was hurting him, and I also told him it was hurting him, his response was, "What do you want me to do, not cut it?" Wow, just wow!!! What barber says that? I understood a part of my son's head had a bulge and cutting through it would not be a smooth sailing, but other barbers NEVER had an issue being patient and using their expertise to figure it out. At the end, he messed up on my son's line-up, and when I told him it looked weird, his response was, "I can't grow hair." As there was a spot missing in his line-up. I was so appalled that a barber and a freaking business owner would be so shitty. I even showed him a picture, and if he was unable to do it, I wish he would've said it from the beginning. His attitude was just horrible, and he was so unprofessional as he kept a 4 year old waiting while he picked up a personal call for what seemed like 5 mins. Literally, the barber next to him also messed up on another man's hair, and there's no accountability. No apologies, just simply an I don't care attitude. So unfortunate that he has 1 great barber who does well cutting my son's hair. He needs a few lessons and tips from his own barber. SAD, JUST SAD!!! I asked for a shaved fade with a number one. This guy gave me a number one and then tried fading my hair from there. When I realized what he was doing I tried telling him. He started arguing with me saying that "I asked for a shaved fade with a number one", which is what I did ask for but that's not a shaved fade. That's not what a shaved fade with a number one looks like.Then he said if I wanted what I had asked for it was going to be an extra 20$. Keep in mind it only took him 15 min to cut my hair. To be honest I felt like I was getting robbed while I sat there getting my cut. I'm not the person to be on the internet writing reviews but they saw how upset I was and they let me leave like that when this problem could have easily been resolved. My first time was yesterday and Jesse did an amazing job, so much that he won a customer for life! The barber shop is clean, spacious, and the barbers are very nice. I can only speak for jesse as he cut my hair, but he is obviously a pro who cares about what he does. It was my first time actually getting a hair cut somewhere other than my backyard (I always just got a size 1 all around my whole life) and I was shocked at how good he left my hair. I just got my first haircut at this location and I can promise you it will be my last. A simple taper fade has never come out so uneven, and just so botched. Just put me on an episode of haircuts botched. Juan was very friendly, but for an elder gentleman, felt like a rookie. Shocking how many barbershops can't cut hair. Stick with the barbers that you know, and in a pinch ask your social media network for recommendations. But take it from me, this location is not it for anything becoming of a good haircut. Jesse's shop is straight up old school barber. Great cuts at reasonable prices. The barbers are all very detail oriented so don't expect to be in and out in 10mins. This place is a true throwback to the relaxed barbershop vibe. I personally wait for Jesse, the other barbers seem to keep busy so there's not too much waiting. Some places are not for everyone! I asked for a short fade and there still were questions. About a minute into the cut the young lady asked me which picture are you going for, and pointed to the wall. ~NOW let me just tell you I was shocked!!!!! All the pictures seemed to be from 1995. And even though the people were adults in the pictures, each cut was all most the same, seemed to be kid cuts, and the side burns were the only thing that was different. I was unsatisfied with the cut and I had to tell them in the end to shave it all off. So now my hair is gone and to not look like a gangster I had to shave my facial hair as well.
