This place is legit. The system they have in place is not perfect but the barbers are generally good at what they do. Caution, it is pricey and not for everyone, but they give great cuts. Best practice is to get an appointment. Go online to their website and pick a service, time and barber. If you don't know who you want to get a haircut from, you can keep that open and they'll choose for you. For the few times I've went, most of the barbers were great and worth their wage. If you're like me and you're just going in for a haircut, they only allot 30 minutes to themselves. Sometimes it's enough, but usually it's not. You can tell because there are times when you walk in for your appointment, but your barber is still cutting the previous person's hair. Like clearly, they need to allot a bit more time to provide a full service. Vibes there are vey casual. Place is lit up very well so you know they're not hiding anything from you as they cut your hair. The barbers are pretty chill and the are two big screens for entertainment if you're bored. I'll keep coming and probably leave an updated review in the future. read more

Just moved to the Sherman Oaks area last week and was looking for a place to get my hair cut. Found Dapper Dave's on Yelp and saw it had a ton of 5 star reviews so I had to go at least check it out. The 5 star reviews were not lying!! I loved the entire vibe of the place. Definitely feels VIP-lounge-y. I had to come in just half an hour before closing because of work. But even so late in the day, the entire shop was super packed--in a good way! It felt lively and felt like a small community. It was vibrant, well-lit, and had lots of overlapping chatter. This is in stark contrast to some other places where the vibe is just dead or so serious. Despite the number of people in there, since I had an appointment, I only waited for a couple minutes. Arman, the bro who cut my hair, was frickin fantastic. He gave me the exact cut I was going for. He was very nice and pleasant, and gave off hard-working and humble demeanor. I'd 100% book with him again. I met the owner, Mr. Dapper Dave himself. Dude was suuuuper cool, very easy to get along with. It sounds like he built the place from the ground up and it's awesome to see that he has maintained such a down-to-earth personality despite the obvious success. I got to chat with him for some time after the cut and it was a great convo and Dave was legit super chill. All in all I'd definitely come back. Although i used to come here, i had a subpar experience last time with Erika unfortunately. Besides having to wait 20 extra min for my appointment on a couch right in front of their speakers BLASTING music like a nightclub, i was given attitude as soon as i started kindly explaining what i wanted to be different from my next haircut. She cut me off while explaining, and completely closed off, then did everything in a fraction of the time it would normally take. no shampoos, no hair dryer for styling. 1 star rating was generous. I recently had a very disappointing experience with Andy at this Barber Shop. I asked for a mid fade, but he cut my hair way too short, giving me a high fade that looked more like a buzz cut. To make matters worse, he used scissors to cut down the back of my hair, leaving it choppy and uneven. He didn't bother to line up or clean up with a shaver afterward, leaving my hair in a worse condition than when I walked in. Overall, I am extremely unhappy with the service and would not recommend Andy to anyone looking for a professional haircut. read more

I've been looking for a high quality barber and I have found one. I'm not someone that knows how to request something very specific so I wanted someone that could give me suggestions and execute a haircut that I would like. They have been doing an excellent job. I have been helped by Erika, Arman and Dave and they are all excellent barbers. I love the appointment system and app they have since I can modify my appointments and don't ever have to wait to get a haircut. They have coffee and water for your convenience and it's a place that is very clean and elegant. The price point is about $50 cash only but I give them more than that every time since the service I receive and the quality of the work is worth it! He payed very close attention to my concerns, he offered expert advice that ended up great in areas I wasn't sure on, and took his time making sure the blend transitions were really smooth. I don't have an easy head/hair combination to work with, so I'm glad he was able to make a miracle out of it. Best advice I received was coming to him.
