Wasn't looking to post a review today, but when looking for Dr. Schneider's office number to schedule my annual wellness exam, I landed here and saw a couple of reviews that were completely different from my personal experience with her. As someone who has had not great experiences with 5 former gynecologists (yes 5 -- I had pretty much decided that they must all be bad), Dr. Schneider was like a breath of fresh air. After not seeing a gyno in years (because my last one botched a biopsy and was more concerned about her side business of drive-up covid testing in 2020 than helping to figure out why I was bleeding for 3 months straight), a dear friend suggested I see her doctor, Dr. Schneider. In my experience, Dr. Schneider has great bedside manner. She offers facts without being curt and guidance without being patronizing. When I had to have another cervical biopsy, she prepped me better than my last doctor had and was incredibly empathetic during the procedure. Anyone who has had one can tell you... hysteroscopies suck. And a quick google search will confirm that for you in prep. But what helped me get through it was Dr. Schneider saying immediately as things looked not promising for getting it done, "we are going to do this together." I didn't feel like a machine being poked and prodded. I didn't feel rushed at all. I felt like a human who had a genuine caregiver there to get me to the other side of what's never going to be a pleasant experience. And... she could have cancelled on me last minute after getting a call that a baby was on the way. You'd never know she was juggling so much because she stayed calm and collected with me before rushing out. And thank goodness because beyond my nerves being frayed, I had spent several days prepping my body for the procedure so I would have had to start all over again if she had to reschedule. read more

This doctor acts like one of her previous patients was a little too cautious and died as a result. So when she talks to you, just about anything "could be cancer" or is otherwise a matter of gigantic concern. "We have to act now!" A doctor providing a second opinion explained very thoughtfully why, yeah, probably the procedure Schneider wants to do is right...but that you can take a couple of months because it almost certainly is NOT cancer...and you'll want to schedule it somewhere that will, you know, give you anesthesia. So, if you are the chillest person of all time, and someone being aggressively alarmist won't bother you, she's probably fine. But if you are seeing a healthcare provider because you have a concern about your health, and you don't want someone to basically hand you a list of mortuaries she prefers, steer clear. read more

But did a complete 180 from offering a less invasive, collaborative treatment plan to insisting on a barbaric in-office surgery because waiting for an available operating room at Cedars would take too long. Please see the NHS litigation regarding hysteroscopies without proper sedation. Even a butcher would have more regard. read more

If I could I would give Dr. Schneider 1 million stars. She is an amazing doctor who makes you feel safe and listened to. I have been coming to her for over 12 years. I consulted with her prior to getting pregnant and knew she would be the one to deliver my babies. And that she did. 2 big babies, both over 8.5 lbs! I had c sections with both, but tried natural. You can't even see my c-section scar, all my friends are surprised when I show them. I love that she is cautious, but not alarmist a perfect combination when one is having symptoms etc. Now I am seeing her to prepare for the next stage, ladies you know what I'm taking about. So we'll see where this journey with Dr. Schneider takes me, but one thing I know is that I fully trust her. Also, something I learned is to be patient. I never realized some OBs actually go see their patients in the hospital. So yes, she may runlate but just remember it could be you one day and you will appreciate the time and care. read more

Apparently, Dr. Schneider is not taking new patients for the next 8 months, so if you're looking for a new obgyn, don't bother calling. I find it highly improbable that they can't take patients for the full duration of my pregnancy so either they think I'm a complicated case and would rather turn me away or their front desk workers are liars. For context, I called their front desk and explained that I carried multiples my first pregnancy and also had pregnancy complications so I'd like to book an appointment with an Obgyn sooner rather than later to discuss next steps. They said they would send the doctor a note explaining my situation and let me know when she could see me (they usually see new patients within the 7-9 week mark). This doesn't sound like an availability issue since the front desk have access to the dr's schedule. Then I received a call on Monday telling me the dr won't be able to service my pregnancy. Sounds like the dr just finds it an inconvenience without bothering to hear the details and would rather turn away patients that aren't "usual" cases. In other words, if you're looking for a compassionate doctor, it doesn't sound like this would be it. read more

I saw Dr. Schneider for my first visit just recently for Uterine Fibroids. She sat with me in her office for a good half hour (at least) before allowing me to ask my own questions. For the first time in a VERY long time, I felt comfortable, and she not only listened to my concerns but finally gave me some medical advice that I was hoping to hear. (My previous OB at St. John's went straight to "You need a hysterectomy" and said I wasn't a candidate for any of the alternatives that I had researched prior to my appt. I almost cried in Dr. Schneider's office she was so patient and gave me hope for a minimal invasive surgery (not with her). But, if I need a fully hysterectomy I'll be back to her office. It took 2 months for me to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait. I'm happy to have (finally) found a regular OBGYN that is kind, patient and is willing to give options!! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Schneider since 2010. She has delivered all three of my children via cesarian. A more outstanding practitioner, is hard to find. She is a specialist in her field, is personable, not an alarmist, very willing to discuss all options for treatment course, and truly cares about my well being. She makes it a point to answer all communications from me promptly and when test results are available, is always ready to discuss implications and if necessary, a follow up plan. Dr. Schneider is unpretentious, unassuming, and always honest and thoughtful in her responses and suggestions. I truly adore her and highly recommend her to any patient seeking OB/GYN services. read more

I love this doctor; she is a midwife in disguise, yet a great surgeon if you need one. Truly if you are not having a baby at home (which I confess is my preference), this is the best doctor to have a baby with, if you don't want medical interventions unless needed, if you want a bright smile when you go see her, if you want patience and caring and trust I a woman's body. No ,she was not my doctor as I had my babies 30 years ago, but as a birth doula I think she is hands down my favorite. She is respectful of natural practices when needed and respectful of women choices. Truly a pleasure to work with her. read more

To find an OB/Gyn who is skilled, open to complimentary therapies, spend time talking to her clients during a visit, personally calls her clients back with test results and enjoys her work is hard to find these days. Dr. Jessica Schneider is part of that rare breed. I never feel rushed or just another number when I see her. Jessica's inspiration for her work is a well known midwife by the name of Ina May Gaskin. And when I watch her support mom's during a birth, it is like watching a midwife in a hospital environment. It is nice to know that I have a Doctor I can actually talk to who will listen to me and create a solution with me. AND, she takes all kinds of Insurance - bonus!! read more

As of right now I am giving a low star rating not because of the doctor but due to the difficulties I have had making an appointment. Following reading the great reviews I decided to call to make an appointment to meet with Dr. Schneider for my first pregnancy. I initially called on a Friday and spoke with a nice receptionist who told me that the doctor would call me on Monday. On Tuesday I called back so I could just make the appointment, I spoke with another nice woman who told me there was some confusion and they would call me back the same day prior to making an appointment. I never received a telephone call back, so third time (Wednesday) this morning. I am trying to call and there is no ability to leave a message the phone just rings so I am not sure if they are having phone problems or what. My concern is that if I am an expecting mother these issues would cause me some concerns. It may be the staff has a high volume and can't keep up. But I am becoming increasingly frustrated with this entire process. I hope that I get somewhere in the next day because despite the nice reviews regarding the doctor if this is going to be my experience I can do without. I will post an update. read more

I came in to see Dr Schnieder on a recommendation from a friend of mine. I did have to wait a few months for my initial consult since I was not yet a patient of hers. She is sweet and pretty down to earth. I have received more answers from her in the past few months regarding fertility issues that have been overlooked by doctors I was seeing for many years. Unfortunately, like another poster mentioned, she was dismissive about endometriosis. I was diagnosed with it at a young age but had not had the lap to confirm it. I have VERY painful periods and asked her a few times what to do about the pain or if she would do any testing to check it - she merely recommended I take some Motrin and refused to do any testing. I just had a lap surgery done and found to have stage 4 endo - which was all removed during the 4 hour surgery. Nothing against her for this, it's not a well known disease and a lot of doctors dismiss it so just make sure you advocate for yourself when it comes to this. Aside from not assisting with the endometriosis, she was great and I would recommend her as an OB/GYN. read more

Dr. Schneider just delivered my baby in December 2012. I was happy with my experience with Dr. Schneider for the 9 months of pregnancy and for my delivery. She is very caring and incredibly approachable. She takes time to reassure you of whatever anxieties you have and is super easy to talk to. It's a big practice and I was worried about who might end up actually delivering my baby and she assured me that she lives close to the hospital and delivers something like 99% of her patients. And sure enough, on the day I went into labor she was there. During the delivery she put both me and my husband at ease by encouraging us. Another great sign that she's a great doctor, when I told my labor nurse who my doctor was she said that she loved working with Jessica and that she is a great doctor. I knocked off one star because the office can be chaotic and they never call with test results even when they say they will. I always ended up calling them to follow up for results or waiting until my next appointment to find out the results. read more

Sticking with Dr Schneider through baby's delivery was a great choice. After a first few appointment/long wait blips, things went smoothly. Her methods are more hands off than my previous doctor (who was too bossy and also manipulative :/ ) so if you require more coddling then maybe see a different doctor in this practice but she was great for me. Super communicative and helped me with an immune issue I was having throughout pregnancy. She also has referred me to other great specialists. Very grateful. read more

I went here for a check up and feminine concern and Dr. Schneider was AMAZING! She made me feel so comfortable. I was seen despite being 25 minutes late. They took my insurance. She wrote me a needed prescription and spent more time than I would have expected a busy Dr. to spend answering my questions and concerns. 100% recommend her! Update: I'm currently fairly well along in my pregnancy and I have been seeing Dr Schneider since the beginning. She always takes time to answer any and all of my questions and concerns and additionally really seems to care about how I am doing and how things are going. She has been very open and willing to talk about my preferences and such throughout the pregnancy. It has been wonderful so far. read more

Let me start by saying as a new patient my appointment wasn't scheduled for about two months...which tells me you're a great busy doctor! I went for my yearly checkup. The woman at the front desk wasn't super friendly but that's fine I'll chalk it up to we all have our days...the nurse was extremely pleasant and doctor Schneider my goodness I adore her! She was so warm and welcoming and during my checkup as many women know is uncomfortable and just not always fun or pleasant she made small talk to probably just make me chat rather than think about the discomfort. I had an amazing lady doctor a few years ago who doesn't take individual plans and I've been trying to find a doctor and office that could compare and I've finally found it! It always puts your mind at ease when you find an office that works with you giving you reassurance. I yelp and review because this is where I get a lot of my recommendations and want others to be given the opportunity to get the knowledge of a great doctor as well! read more

Dr Jessica Schneider is the best OBGYN period. Im a very particular patient who tends to be overly neurotic about everything but Dr. Schneider was able to put me at ease during the process. I always felt cared for and listened to at every visit and phone call. She has given me an incredible birth experience and im definitely sticking with her for my future babies. read more

I have been coming here for 5.5 years and I like Dr J Schnieder but her staff is deplorable. Rude, snotty, arrogant, just to name a few. Getting your Rx refill is like pulling teeth and you need to follow up like 5x before anyone does anything. Lots of promises and little action, and again, SO ARROGANT. Which is odd because she is so nice, there is clearly no one observing her staff. I stopped going there last month and will not go back. I've gotten tired of pleading with this awful staff. read more

Wish I could split the stars. The doc gets 5 but staff gets one star!!! It's not easy to find doctors that care these days. Dr Schneider has always gone above and beyond for me. She calls back when she says she will. The staff however over the years have not been nice. They're rude in person and on the phone. If I didn't love this doc so much I would never go back. When it comes to healthcare I don't want any drugs or anything unnatural; I want it easy and no frills. So, when I got pregnant I knew I wasn't into having a homebirth because I can't deal with having to organize that mess. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Schneider by some midwives and a friend who only does homebirths. Yes, there are many patients and often a wait at the office but it's well worth it. I'm so glad I met Dr. Schneider. She is the perfect balance of midwifery and medicine. She is SO understanding, knowledgeable, supportive, and caring. I LOVED that she went over what my husband and I wanted and took the time to KNOW US so that she could provide us better choices for our pregnancy and birth. Now that's a proper health care provider. Dr. Schneider went over my birth plan (I only did one cuz I had an app for one) and didn't even flinch when I didn't want continuous fetal monitoring or an IV. Whenever, I presented a 'granola' (my term- not hers) idea to her she'd usually want to know what my thoughts were on it and why I had made certain decisions and then she'd back me up. A friend of mine was due 4 weeks before me and was seeing UCLA midwives. When she was about 5 months pregnant we swapped stories and after hearing me rave about Dr. Schneider she decided to schedule an appointment. She was SO HAPPY that she immediately switched over. I was concerned that Dr. Schneider may not be at the birth but she assured me that she is there at every birth. Sure enough it was 4 AM when my friend went into labor and she and I were there. . . I got to see her and Cedars labor nurses in action. It was amazing and I was so happy that she was my doctor. When I went into labor on a Friday afternoon Dr. Schneider came in, checked up on me, gave me words of encouragement, and backed up my birth plan to the NP. . i.e. no heplock, no fetal monitoring except for a few minutes at the top of the hour (a compromise). She went back to tend to her appointments but was back when I was fully dilated a couple of hours later. She coached me through the pushing which didn't take long and stayed with me while I nursed the baby, made sure we got the placenta, and stayed with us for as long as we had questions. She was back the next day to check up on me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly highly recommend her. read more

It's hard for me to even know where to start, but let me say that I think Dr. Jessica Schneider is the best OB-GYN I have ever visited. I went to her for a routine GYN checkup a few years back when she was new to the Helfond Medical Group. Someone had recommended the practice to me (and many of the other doctors there do seem wonderful) but after reading all of their bios I picked Jessica because of the mention that she had studied to be a doula. A few years later when I was pregnant I was thrilled to now call her my OB and all I suspected came through -- she's supportive of natural childbirth, loves doulas, and spoke on a panel called "Home Birth in the Hospital" at BINI Birth. Throughout my pregnancy I had a lot of questions and worries. Dr. Schneider was unfailingly patient with me, always reassuring, kind, willing to speak about her own experience as a mother of a young child. Since it's a large practice many friends who went to similar practices (but not this one!) kept saying how they didn't know who would be the doctor on call who would deliver their child. In this practice, however, you only see your one doctor and every time I asked Dr. Schneider about the birth, she reassured me she would be there. Sure enough, she was, coming from home to check on me late in the evening, and then there at 5 the next morning. Her patience and kindness were present as my child was born and I'm forever grateful that she was the doctor who welcomed him into the world. She's a rare breed -- a woman of science, a kind and warm individual, and a mother who you sense cares deeply about her patients and their children. The deep loathing I have for this office is seething out of my existence. I cannot even comprehend the stress that they have brought to my fiance and I. Especially at a time when it's very much not needed. We seem to run into a problem around every single corner. Insurance paperwork, prescriptions, everything has been a hassle. And the general tone and rudeness is simply gross. Although the woman who took her blood was really nice. She would get 5 stars if that were possible, everyone else should get a job at the DMV. Not recommended. Surprised Cedars would let these people in their group and represent their name. Go elsewhere. read more

I love Jessica Schneider! We had a great experience working with her from beginning to end. We live in Silverlake, but it was worth driving all the way to Cedars to see her- even in heavy labor! She is a great doctor, easy going, she has a wonderful personality, she is funny, and really comforting. I was 9 days late, but was never pushed to induce, and I used a doula and did an all natural birth, and Jessica was completely supportive all the way. She did not have a problem with me refusing the IV and heplock, and during the birth she was simply present, calm, and comforting, and sat back, letting me do the work without interfering. Awesome. I highly recommend her to anyone, but especially those who are looking to do a natural birth. read more

AWFUL! Horrible and Infuriating experience. Waited 1.5 hrs to be seen for first visit. 3 weeks and 6 phone calls to find out that they never performed the NIPT test we spent 20 minutes talking about in the room (a time sensitive and very important genetic test) Left questions about lab work to get answer weeks later they never performed test. Same with an issue about bleeding and migraine that I suffered. When we finally spoke about that she lacked the confidence to say anything reassuring. Was days and days of messages with desk to reach her. Wasted so much of my time and nothing but anxiety after visiting and speaking with this totally unprofessional Doctor. Perhaps her apparent popularity has made her completely inaccessible and also completely incompetent? The WORST. read more

I LOVE Dr. Schneider. She really is the best OB in my opinion. She just has that caring personality, but is super competent..she really is amazing. I recently delivered my baby with her and even though I delivered 3 weeks early, she was so supportive and reassuring that the process of labor, though I was not prepared for, was not that scary at all! When she delivered our precious son, I think she must've delivered at least 3 babies that night, but she was so calm and professional; not to mention caring. I wept aloud when I went in to deliver and saw her there as a sigh of relief because I knew everything was going to be fine since she was there. She also performed my son's circumcision which went great. Post-partum, she checked up on me a lot and when I called to ask about strange symptoms, she actually called back to talk to me about them. I also had couple UTI's post-partum, and because I was breastfeeding, she prescribed breastfeeding-friendly antibiotics. I love how she calls you back if you call her and actually takes the time to listen to you and make you feel like everything is going to be alright; that's a definition of an amazing, caring doctor in my opinion. She even calls for lab results! Yes, you may have to wait a bit to see her sometimes, but that's only because she takes the time to listen and talk to her patients. I found that if you get the earlier appointments (e.g. 8:45am - when they open or 2pm - after lunch), then you don't have to wait that long. I had couple spotting episodes and I liked how she didn't make up reasons of why I had these episodes because everything was so normal with me. She told me she didn't know why and I appreciated her honesty. I also love the pediatrician she recommended (she'll give you a sheet of paper if you ask) and...I just love her. I highly highly recommend her as an OB/GYN. Should I be blessed with another child, I will definitely have her deliver him or her. For now, she'll just be my GYN :) read more

I must say, I am shocked that Dr. Schneider has a single review below 5 stars. I have been seeing her for more than twelve years and just thank my lucky stars that I found her. She delivered my baby and cared for me during my pregnancy with more concern that I have received from any doctor ever. The new office is busy, yes. The receptionist may not always be the most pleasing and service oriented however, I am there to see a Dr. not a receptionist. Dr. Schneider has called me personally after every test (good news or bad) offering her sincere help and wisdom. Not all busy Dr.'s are worth the wait but Dr. Jessica Schneider is. I have been going to Dr. Schneider for a number of years & she delivered my baby last November. I am so grateful to have her as my doctor. She is a laid back doctor (which I prefer) who I completely trusted to make the best decisions for me & my baby. Dr. Schneider always discusses my options & preferences for my care. She has always been promptly communicative via her email. Any time I had a question, big or small, I always got a quick answer from her or her office (if she was away). Dr. Schneider has always shown excellent bedside manners. I have had to wait for awhile for some of my appointments, but I'm well aware that her job is delivering babies, something out of scheduling control. I just tried to keep a positive outlook any time I had to wait because I knew whatever time my baby was going to be born, she would also be there for me, just like she does for all of her patients. Dr Schneider is THE BEST. a few months ago she delivered my baby and although it took me 33 hours in total, she would often check on me. I could tell she was tired because the nurse mentioned i was her 5th patient in labor but she was there until i delivered. Throughout my pregnancy Dr Schneider was always there when I needed her, when I had a question or concern, always returning my calls, and calling back with test results. I am so shocked to read positive reviews of this person. My fiancee and I went to her on a recommendation, and it was literally one of the worst experiences of our life. She was extremely insensitive about our situation (complications with a pregnancy), behaved very immaturely and was incredibly unprofessional in general. Our office visit was agonizingly slow and disorganized - and although she promised a follow-up phone call with test results and other information, that never happened. A truly sad experience for us was made far worse by this sorry excuse for a doctor. read more

Dr. Schneider is one of the best OBGYNs in the country. She is very sweet and knowledgeable. She is very concerned with the health of her patients and will even recommend referrals if you mention other healthcare concerns outside of her specialty. I will probably go to Dr. Schneider as long as I live in LA. Since she is highly sought after, make an appointment a few weeks in advance. This doctor is in high demand. read more

She was so kind and really took the time out to point me in the right direction. She even went above and beyond to provide me with a Fantastic Primary care Doc ( who I love too) Dr. Jacqueline Yaris and also a great GI doctor Dr. Beth Moore. I told her my mom died of stomach cancer @38 yrs old. Dr. Schneider wanted to make sure I was going to be okay if we decided to start making a baby. I cannot thank her enough, I would never have done all of these things without her guidance. Dr. Jessica Schneider is simply amazing!! Being in the medical field myself I have high expectations of any doctor I see and Dr. Jessica Schneider surpassed them all to say the least! I did have to wait 3 months for an appointment, but it was definitely worth the wait. Her staff is friendly and courteous, Dr. Schneider is welcoming, smart, insightful and easy to talk to. I went in for a well woman exam and other female concerns. She was very thorough while taking my medical history, addressed every single symptom I expressed, and during examination she was very gentle and through. There are no words. Just go to her and you'll love her as much as I do. I've referred 5 friends to her -- and everyone comments how calm and amazing, skilled and compassionate she is. Even if she's had back to back deliveries, no sleep and has to cancel her own birthday dinner for you -- she gives you 200%.
