I don't know what happened but the quality of the pizzas went downhill. The service, beer and the expansion of the place is still great. Probably won't be recommending Jester King to friends unless it returns back to amazing pizzas. read more

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed Jester King. This is the coolest spot to take out of town guests or to enjoy as locals. They have very unique beers that are all very good. They have a large property, where you can visit with goats and other animals. We love looking for the brewery cats. They have an awesome heated area when it's chilly outside. Their food is fantastic. I see they have a vegan pizza that looks insanely good, but I have not been able to try yet. I did try their focaccia and French fries which were so good. Make sure to visit Jester King when in Austin!! read more

Delightful stop on a Sunday afternoon. Live bluegrass music. The pizza was phenomenal. Small artisan fair -many creative people in Austin! We visited with the goats. The guide was very informative. Jester King Brewery has been on my bucket lis for some time and I'm glad I finally made it. Went with Austin fam on a warm Saturday afternoon. We ordered food from on site food trucks and were all quite pleased with what we got although I can't quite remember the specifics. You order the beer at the counter and carry it to your table. Ambiance is rustic Austin style. The brewery is really spread out. The afternoon we were there they had a blues band playing in the covered open air area. The music was good though a little loud to my ancient ears. We found a picnic table up the hill a way where we could enjoy music, food, beer, and conversation easily. Jester King is child and pet friendly and, to their credit, have abundant ice water nearby. Certainly worth a visit. read more

This place is awesome! It truly feels like a Texas brewery. We are doing dry January but still had many drink options. Their hot chocolate was great. We also ordered their pizza and fries. Both were amazing, highly recommend. Service is friendly and we loved the goats! read more

Visiting a brewery is always recommended when in Austin, so I made sure to check out one of the spots on my list. Ordered a Black Metal Imperial Stout, and while I enjoy stouts, this one was quite strong--but the small amount I had was enjoyable and paired well with the Pepperoni Pizza we ordered later. We sat outside, chatting with friendly people and even joined in on a book event happening on site. Overall, it was a great experience. Would def come back with a bigger group. read more

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue than Jester King! This brewery already had a place in our hearts long before our big day, so getting married here made it even more special. The new outdoor ceremony space is simple yet naturally beautiful. Afterward, we had a laid-back picnic style reception in the beer garden, where we also had a private event bar and lunch served from the covered patio. Our guests raved about the beer selection and the artisenal pizza buffet. Both were a huge hit! We also loved that we could add specialty beer bottles to our bar menu to make the experience even more customized. Some of our guests enjoyed them so much that they even bought extra bottles to take home! The entire planning process was seamless, thanks to Myrna, the director of events. She was incredibly responsive, supportive, and easy to work with from start to finish. On the day of our wedding, the bartenders and staff were fantastic--friendly, professional, and attentive to our guests. We're so grateful to Jester King for helping make our wedding day so special. While reviewing my bookmarks last night I noticed I didn't post a review for Jester King regarding my beer experience with them which is a little bit unforgivable considering how much I liked the beer I had from them. Not only did I not just like a beer but I had a great deal of enthusiasm for the beer which was an IPA which many times I am simply not all that impressed with enough to drop five stars. But in this case it was. The Deinos Kynos was an Imperial/ Double IPA that Steve and I were simply blown away with. The usual characteristics of an IPA for flavor like citrus, hoppiness and floral notes were all there along with maltiness. This extremely well assembled IPA with a nice touch of sweetness just impressed us to no end and completely blew us out of the water. Oh, if only all IPA'S had it as all together as this one! read more

Close friend and recent Austinite chauffeured us here from our hotel on South Congress. Who would have believed that some of the best artisan pizza and beer would be found on this beautiful ranch. (Unfortunately it was past sunset so we could not see much of the land around us). We ordered the Capri and Citron pizzas. My husband and friend had a brand new hazy IPA yet to hit the menu and I ordered the Heirloom cider. Both pizzas had perfect crispy crusts with a light smoky flavor. The Citron was unexpected with its balanced lemony, fragrant hues and the Capri hit all the right Italian seasonings. The guys loved their smooth citrus IPAs and my Heirloom cider was delicate - just like its champagne description. The servers were all super friendly and helpful in a true Texas manner. I hope we return to TX again so we can experience the true ranch surroundings at this gem of a place read more

Usually it's first comes marriage then comes a baby carriage. Unfortunately this was not the case when Jester King double booked a baby shower with the set up for our wedding. They gave us 0 heads up, 0 apology and told us we would just have to wait for them to finish up. It sucked for us. It sucked for the baby shower (who did kindly agree to move even though it was not their fault). Annd they ran out of food. Looking to host your birthday, graduation, or rehearsal dinner? I'd look elsewhere. read more

This is a fun concept brewery with lots to offer. Located in a remote location, Jester King has a very rugged and rural feel, which can be seen from the unpaved access road through the goat enclosure on their premises. They offer a good selection of draft and bottled beers, many wines, and food options. I tried their Surf Metal beer, which was very refreshing on a warm, autumnal Sunday afternoon, along with some of their pizzas. The pizzas had a good aroma and are generously sized. The whole place is self-service: order at a bar or by scanning a QR code, then go pick up your drink / food when it's ready. Plenty of seating (both covered and open-air), and nice nature views. When we were there, they also had local artists selling their creations, which were great to browse through while waiting on the food. read more

I visited Austin years ago and wanted to visit here but wasn't able to. This visit I was able to! The brewery is on a big farm. There are goats and big open spaces to meander about. They have live music under the big shade area. They have a lot of beers theyre pouring (most from bottles) and the beers I tasted were all unique. I also opted for the tour which was great! I learned a lot about farmhouse ales and my tour guide was awesome! I definitely recommend any beer lover in the Austin are stop in and have a taste! Cheers!! read more

Did not care for the pizza. We had the funkadelic and the Gorgonzola wasn't a good combo with everything else on the pizza. We also had the garden salad which was pretty large with a very small size of dressing. Service was ok. Girl taking our order wasn't the friendliest and seem put off by my questions. Ambiance is better than years ago. Appreciated the covered area. Place was absolutely dead for a Friday night with a band. Met up with friends here, but wouldn't go in future unless it was a meet up spot with others. read more

Both the beer and pizza were awesome. Fortunate to come during the week when just a bit slower. Had a really nice time and were welcomed by Kevin at the bar. The Russian stout was delicious but strong. This place must be great when crowded, but happy to be her and able to relax. read more

Jester King eludes a specific definition. It's a combination of a craft brewery (they make great beer and give fun tours), a park (with lots of picnic tables) and a farm (complete with Nigerian goats). Tip: Over and above a variety of beers, they also offer a selection of gluten-free wines and ciders We spent almost a half day here, doing the tour, having a picnic, and enjoying the sunshine - all of this with brews in hand :-) read more

hi! awesome place to be out from the city! lots of parking, huge open space, where you can run around. had a great experience with the food and the goats/baby goats. ordered the Loncito pizza, hot, fresh, and tasty. thin crust all the way. also ordered the Gochujang cookie and that was different. huge cookie. was able to see and hangout with the goats. they are friendly and love fresh green grass. it was quite and interesting experience to make some new friends today. they do not bite and are friendly as long as you do the same. overall, had a great time here, check it out! read more

We enjoyed a Friday afternoon at jester king with our newborn while our family was in town. It is a bit of a drive but you can spend an entire afternoon there! They have a great beer selection, some hazy some sour etc! They also have wine which i enjoy more than beer. The pizza is so good and have interesting flavors. We got a margarita classic and a lemon hot honey one which was sooo different. They have goats, a playground for kids, and lots of places to sit in shade/sun! read more

Great beer, friendly goats, and delicious pizza. What more could you ask for? The friendly staff and the walking trails are a great added bonus. I've been to a lot of breweries, and I honestly think Jester King is one of the best in the country for both the beer and the setting. If you have time, it's worth booking a guided tour of the property or a goat walk. The goats are not only cute and friendly but they do so much for the brewery/brewing process. Carve out a good few hours to take in the experience. It's about a 30 minute drive outside the city of Austin and worth every minute. read more

Specialties

Jester King is an authentic farmhouse brewery committed to making wild ales and spontaneously fermented beers that reflect the unique character of our location in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Like the small farmhouse breweries that inspired us, we pursue beer making that involves time, patience, unique fermentation, full attenuation, and refermentation in the serving vessel. We use water from our well, locally grown and malted grains, and native wild yeast to make beer with a sense of place unique to our brewery.

Established in 2010.

We began brewing in September of 2010, and sold our first beers in late October. Our Grand Opening Party was held on January 29, 2011.

Lots of folks going in and out of doors, so there were quite a few flies inside. We were seated immediately and given our card to post when we were ready to order. As noted in other yelp reviews, there wasn't a real clear explanation given about the posting of the "we're ready to order card," but we figured out that it goes in the small metal holder on top of the paper towel stand on the table. Cudos for the perforated paper towels, we've been to other similar restaurants where the paper towels are not perforated, making it very difficult to tear off a sheet or two. We stopped two different servers to ask questions about several items on the menu before we ordered, both were generally unaware of how food was being prepared and put together in the kitchen. What is sofrito rice? "Uh, it's red rice, I don't know what's in it." What are myacoba refried beans? "Uh, beans that are mashed up." You get the picture... Ultimately, we were able to order food and a flight of beers. We ordered the brisket tacos and the flauta basket (electing to have 4 of the chicken flautas). The food was excellent, ingredients very fresh, flavor profiles well developed, a little bit of heat in everything. The brisket tacos were probably some of the best we've ever had! The flautas were just downright decadent. Rolled tortillas, deep fried, topped with charred jalapeno avocado salsa, pico de gallo, crema and cotija cheese. Delicious! For our beer flight, we sampled each of the wild craft beers (ingredients foraged from the property and put in the beer) and the red pale ale. Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly overshadowed by the numerous restrictions and limitations that made planning and executing the event far more difficult than we had anticipated. We fully understand that every venue has rules and policies that must be respected. However, the limitations imposed were far more restrictive than expected and made it difficult for us to provide the experience we had envisioned for our guests. Throughout the planning process and during the event itself, it became clear that there were many operational restrictions that were not disclosed prior to signing the contract. These restrictions were only communicated after we had already made our deposits. While we understand the importance of venue policies, greater transparency from the beginning--or a more flexible approach--would have allowed us to make better-informed decisions and avoid unnecessary stress. We expected to work with a team that would collaborate with us to ensure the event ran smoothly. Instead, we were consistently met with numerous restrictions that significantly limited our ability to deliver the event we had planned. Some of the restrictions we encountered included the prohibition of indoor cold sparklers, dry ice effects, and even a custom dance floor decal in the center of the dance floor. We were also not permitted to install any decorations on the ceiling or walls. Additionally, we were required to keep the music at a very low volume. We were specifically told that if the volume was increased, the event would be stopped. This warning was delivered by the venue administrator who was overseeing the event. Unfortunately, the administrator's attitude throughout the event was disappointing. She was uncooperative, appeared visibly annoyed at all times, and interacted with us in a manner that made us feel as though she was doing us a favor by allowing us to use the venue, rather than recognizing that we had paid a significant amount to rent the facility. Her demeanor was unprofessional and detracted from what should have been a joyful and memorable celebration.

We opted to pay a little extra to have Marlana as our day-of coordinator, but she was in constant communication with us from the very beginning. The Terrace Club was my wedding venue for my January 4, 2026 wedding. Now that I finally received…read moresome items I had left there, I can write my review. I'm giving this venue 2 stars, and to be clear, that rating is entirely due to the coordination services I paid extra for--not the venue itself. The property is genuinely beautiful. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces made for a stunning wedding backdrop, and everything was well-kept. Hunter, the owner, was also a pleasure to work with--professional, kind, and clearly invested in the venue. The base package we booked (which did not include coordination) was a good value for what was provided. Unfortunately, the $2,000 I spent on the 90-day coordination service was, without exaggeration, the worst money I spent on my entire wedding. We were told this was a 90-day coordination package, but aside from the standard décor meeting that is already included for all couples, there were essentially no services provided until about six weeks before the wedding. This was incredibly misleading and not what was promised. Our coordinator, Marlana, was consistently unprepared for meetings--repeatedly asking questions I had already answered and pushing back on details that were important to me. The timeline she created completely ignored my priorities, leaving only 45 minutes for dancing despite me clearly stating that was my number one focus. I ultimately had to create and manage the timeline myself, which defeats the entire purpose of paying for coordination. On the wedding day, the lack of professionalism and organization became impossible to ignore. I was directing vendors and answering questions during my own photos. Even my photographer had to come to me multiple times because they were given an incorrect timeline. Marlana was nowhere to be found during key moments like getting ready and photos--times when a coordinator should be most present. Basic service elements were also neglected. The soda bar was unmanned for most of the night, the champagne tower was never distributed to guests, and water stations were repeatedly empty. These are fundamental responsibilities that should not require constant oversight from the bride or her family. The dance floor moved like it was going to break the whole night. The comments about the lay out being excluding are also accurate but we knew it may be that way when we signed. To make matters worse, I was never informed that tours would be taking place on my wedding day. While I was getting ready with my bridesmaids, a group of strangers nearly walked into the bridal suite because the door was unlocked. My mother had to stop them and tell them it was not an entrance. This was a major breach of privacy and completely unacceptable. The most disturbing moment, however, was when my mother went to find Marlana to address ongoing issues. During that interaction, Marlana put her hands on my mother and told her to "calm down." That is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable behavior in any setting--especially at a wedding where emotions are already high. There is no excuse for putting hands on a guest, let alone the bride's mother. To make matters even more disappointing, my mom ended up doing much of what a coordinator should have been responsible for throughout the day. As the oldest daughter and the first to get married, it was really important to me that she be able to fully enjoy the day. Instead, she was managing issues and filling in gaps for a service I had already paid for, which is incredibly disheartening. Lastly, we accidentally left a few items behind at the venue. That same night, Marlana texted asking what to do with them, and I was told they would be mailed out shortly that week. After hearing nothing, I followed up in mid-February and was told they would be sent the next day, but again, nothing was sent. It wasn't until mid-March that I was finally notified a package had been shipped, and I received it around March 18--over two months after my wedding. While I understand it was ultimately my responsibility not to leave items behind, the communication around this was completely misleading. Had I been told it would take over two months, I would have made other arrangements. In summary: the venue itself is beautiful and worth considering for the price, but the coordination service was disorganized, unreliable, misleading, and at times completely inappropriate. I strongly caution anyone against paying extra for it.

Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. Even with such short notice, he had the yacht cleaned, prepped, and ready to go. When we arrived, he had a checklist ready to make sure we didn't forget anything in our vehicles before we left the dock. It sounds simple, but when you're trying to organize a bachelor party, little things like that make a huge difference. He took all the stress off our shoulders so we could focus on having fun. The yacht itself was absolutely beautiful--honestly, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's even more impressive in person, and it was spotless from front to back. What impressed me most was Dave's attention to detail. I needed a screwdriver to fix one of our water guns, and before I knew it, Dave showed up with one and even fixed it for me. That's the kind of customer service you just don't see very often. Once we got to Devil's Cove, Dave went above and beyond. He helped grill burgers, made sure everyone had food, drinks, and plenty of ice, and kept checking in to make sure everyone was having a great time. It honestly felt like his mission was to take all the thinking out of the day so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves--and he absolutely accomplished that. Safety was also a top priority. Before we left the dock, Dave clearly explained the rules while the boat was underway and while it was anchored. Everything was straightforward, easy to understand, and he made sure everyone stayed safe without taking away from the fun. Pulling into Devil's Cove was one of the highlights of the day. We cruised in with the music playing, the yacht looked incredible, and it definitely turned some heads to get the attention we wanted! It made for an unforgettable bachelor party. Captain Dave didn't just provide a yacht--he created an experience. A group of us went out to Jester King on Valentines Day to celebrate multiple birthdays. Ages ranged from 21 to 60. We arrived around noon, found a table and began purchasing large amounts of beer and pizza (delicious) ... As more unexpected friends arrived, we needed more tables. The a-hole Hitler checking IDs was a "royal" JERK! One in our group asked if we could put two tables together. It was crowded and with no other table options. He said no. His "command" was unreasonable and we decided to show him that moving a table to our area would not impede anything. Little Hitler became very angry saying we "ignored his authority" and "went behind his back" SERIOUSLY? is this high school? With calm reasoning and debate we tried to show him that it would work - but he then threatened to kick us ALL out if we didn't move the table back! so with great reluctance, we complied. One of the 60 yo went in to speak to a "person in charge" ... when he came out it, saw all the beer on the table, was like, "no biggie, you are welcome to re-arrange the tables. To his credit he sent us a complimentary bottle of beer. The manager/owner who is in charge of "security" needs to teach their people that THE CUSTOMER is KING in their establishment! read more

We met up with several friends to have a couple drinks and we all brought the kids along and let them explore the large property this sits on. It really is a nice piece of land and everyone's kids were about 10-11yrs old. After a couple hours of hanging out, the kids all ran over terrified and shaking, telling us that a man said he was going to kill them. It turns out they were being a bit too noisy near the outdoor restrooms. The hipster fool who was checking id at the door had confronted them, yelled at them to shut up and was heard loudly proclaiming he'd "like to kill those kids". Now, 10yo's need reminded about manners from time to time, adult hipster a-holes really shouldn't need to be told not to threaten bodily harm to children. This is an open, outdoor venue and the kids were just being kids. Clearly they weren't that loud as we were very near the restrooms and heard nothing. I was unable to confront this guy because he promptly disappeared inside. It's really unfortunate they employ such foolish people because aside from this issue the place was great, the pizza was overpriced but good and the few beers i tried were fantastic. read more

Just had pizza at Jester King Brewery and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The crust is what really stands out--perfectly wood-fired with that light char, crispy on the outside but still chewy inside. You can tell it's made with serious care. The toppings are simple but super high quality, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. The sauce has a bright, balanced flavor that ties the whole pie together without overpowering it. What makes the experience even better is the setting. Sitting outside on the ranch with a farmhouse ale in hand while eating a great pizza is pretty hard to beat. The Grand Opening was awesome! Got there early like a smart person =) The beer was Tasty. The Location was cool. The people giving out the beer were so nice. The Weather rocked. Being a Country boy I enjoyed everything about the day. I was there for 4 hours and had a blast with friends. I enjoed all 4 of my beers and thought getting there early was the key to a successful day. In Texas all you have to say is free beer and all the moochers come out. The only draw back, was that people were planting themselves right by the serving barn, so getting out of line was a pain because you had to manuver around the campsites. lol. This is definitely one of my more favorite places to relax with some work buddies, we've had a few company functions here! With plenty of outside patio room! It's a great place inside and out. Customer service is always a big giant plus for me as it is the industry that I work in, and believe firmly that with good customer service, environment plus food will always survive. Sadly, We all know there's already an abundance of places out there that have trouble meeting just one of those requirements. You can feel Confident in coming here whether it's with some friends, a date or even by yourself. This place very muck like something I would find up north east or in Europe... but definitely with a Texas vibe to it. I have been 3 times now with my girlfriend and we always go when we make it out to Austin. The beer is great! I am saying that not as an aficionado/beer lover. I actually don't really care for beer, but the beer here is great. The best part about the place though is the pizza place next door but on the property. We get ourselves a nice beer and then split some delicious pizza. This place is fantastic and you should check it out. Bring an appetite though for the pizza! read more

Wonderful experience at jester king yesterday. We took the brewery tour and had a lot of fun seeing the behind-the-scenes view of how the beers are made. Our tour guide was super cool and obviously knew his stuff. We got to sample a number of beers and found some new favorites to purchase and bring home with us. Our group includes vegan and vegetarian friends and there were menu options for all of us to enjoy. Definitely recommend the black bean fries! We'll for sure be making this a regular stop on our drives from Pedernales back to Austin. read more

Blue grass band, goats, cider, pizza, kind workers! Wow. Great experience. The band was entertaining. The goats are so cute. The cider was light, tasty, and refreshing. The pizza was delicious and unique (and vegetarian friendly). The crew was helpful. We had a bachelorette party lunch here. It was a hot day, but the place has a covered area and misting fans to cool you off. There was also a BBQ food truck that the girls enjoyed. I would love to visit again. read more

Great Pizza out doors under a roofed area. The bruschetta was also good topped with the best cream. The pizzas are thin crust and delicious. They are a pretty good size and can be shared with one other person unless you have a big appetite. Both the pizzas we tried were tasty and had a good amount of toppings. Great open space for friends to enjoy their signature beers. Weather was perfect and we got there early enough to avoid long lines and parking issues we heard about later in the day. All things considered it was a fun little day trip get away. Was also impressed they took credit cards considering the somewhat remote location. Will be visiting again for sure and hopefully do a trip of the brewery itself. read more

Awesome brewery, although the sour beers are definitely different if you're not used to them. There's yummy pizza on-site and SO much space. I took my 4 month old and it's very kid friendly! Lots of picnic tables, areas shaded (the bar has fans and misters). read more

If you like sours, there are a few places in Austin that are fairly reliable. Draught House is one that I'd highly recommend for pub style drinking, but for the largest selection of sours in a farmhouse atmosphere, Jester King can't be beat. read more
