    Variety of whiskeys
    Mikey J.

It was a very interesting experience that seemed very "Austin" on my visit to the city. The concept is innovative surely. It was eclecticly decorated, whiskeys were interesting, and the whole distillery is based on a social media driven, crowd-sourced platform. No food options I recall when we visited and not the busiest though it was a weekend. Service is professional. Worth a visit!

    The wyrmfire elixir IS BOMB

Anyone who has been here knows how amazing this place is, by far fav spot in hill country area. my fav is the wyrmfire elixir!!

I can't believe it took me so long to discover this incredibly unique destination. But once I did I rarely go elsewhere. The staff is friendly, & super helpful. The whiskey is amazing & cocktails are creative & delicious. In addition to the bar area there are options for seating all around the deck & beyond. with There is also a wonderful food truck nearby so this place has it all.

Very fun outdoor space and venue. There is a food truck on site as well as a chapel, wizard school (marketing and business classes), emporium, wine bar, event spaces and I'm sure even more stuff that we did not discover! We did a whisky tasting and had cocktails. The cocktails and bartender were definitely our favorite of the whole day there. Amazing cocktails and the bartender couldn't have been friendlier or more knowledgeable. She earned 5 stars for sure!!

This place is amazing!! I had no idea what to expect. After a little confusion at the front entrance, I was transported to an incredible property with an eclectic treehouse style whiskey bar. The bartenders are extremely talented and super friendly. My pup and I had a blast visiting and can't wait to go back!!

Off the beaten track a bit but great staff and tasting room. Unfortunately they only distill a small amount of whiskey on property and it sells out quickly. They do finish a lot for other distilleries. Beautiful grounds and fun atmosphere.

This place is a hidden gem, tucked away in the hill country. This spot is funded and supported by crowdsourcing. Very cool concept. You'll more than likely have new products to sample every time you visit. There are flights and a great variety of coctails. Today, there were 5 whiskeys to pick from. Only outdoor seating. The scenic views are amazing. I recommend walking around and checking out the grounds. Friendly service, great drinks and chill environment. I'll definitely be back.

Enjoying a jalapeño tequila drink on the patio. Dog friendly!

Very friendly staff. My partner enjoyed the whiskey flight and I enjoyed the tequila cocktails. Lovely outdoor patio and dog friendly!

This place is tucked away in what seemed like a residential area up in the hills off the regular path of other wineries, distilleries, breweries. It's located on land with other businesses it's connected with The Wizard (business) school , a food truck, a hall (event center) and chapel. The area is covered with trees and interesting art sculptures. The tasting room, Fang and Feather is interesting. It's a building built in recent years (last 4 or 5 years) that is made to look aged, like a mission or something. It is not old but the windows, doors and some detailing have mostly been bought at auction and are actually older. Plenty of comfortable seating throughout the outside limited seated indoor. The inside is covered in eclectic décor, there is a small section to buy merch, a catalog of drinks to pick from, a 12 days of whiskey gift box, and of course whiskey tasting. We were not provided a ton of info on the whiskey or the business. There is a fun seating area inside like sitting inside a barrel or on Jack Sparrow's ship. Either way, made the tasting more fun. Had a taste of Texas whiskey flight and it was interesting, there were 3 in my group and we couldn't agree on one favorite, we each had our own. it consisted of straight rye whiskey, straight bourbon whiskey, malt whiskey, malt mash. One was light and others had notes of caramel, vanilla and/or chocolate. We each enjoyed a cocktail as well, a new old fashion that was good, just not my style, the cinnamon or other spice used was not my fav but it wasn't bad, just not my style. The coffee drink was missing something in it, it really tasted like iced coffee with cream.

    The Wall of Magnificence!

This is really for Fang & Feather since the Distillery was closed when I went. The Eleanors do NOT disappoint! Nor did the Black Walnut Cocktail mixed by the affable and amiable Richard. I figured to spend about an hour or so but instead closed the joint down! The bourbon is delicious and as a Magnificent Bastard it was a real trip to find my name on the Wall of Magnificence. The grounds are lovely and well worth wandering. If you get the chance to stop in and sample the whiskey you will NOT be disappointed! If you are a Magnificent Bastard, it is so much fun to see where our favorite videos are shot. Alas, I couldn't finagle my way into the Vault! ;)

    Eleanor new fashioned!

A little piece of heaven off the beaten path. Definitely stop in for an Eleanor New Fashioned! It's the best twist off a classic you'll ever have. These people are awesome!

If you are a whiskey drinker, you will find a fine collection of bottles here…read more Or rather - you will find a very very fine collection of scotches here. There are some highly interesting bourbons as well. The selection of ryes is thin. If you read Whiskey Advocate (which I have been known to do), the rye curating will give you no thrills. The selection of Irish is thin as well - but no blame on that point. The population of upscale Irishes is just not that large, once you pass some over-rated cliches like Redbreast. * * * Seven Grand however is not an abstract name. That is how much you will pay in order to drink here. The prices for two ounces of many of those beverages will make the eyes pop out of your head sideways and go running out the front door. In more than a few cases, two drinks here will cost you close to what you would pay for a full bottle purchased at a liquor store. Now to be sure - bar drinking is expensive. That kind of percentage markup is not unheard of in the industry. But when you move up the price range for the raw material, The absolute amount of money you are overpaying to have that drink goes up astronomically. I will pay big for a peak experience I will remember for the rest of my life. (See my review of Craft Omakase.) I will not pay big for a random experiment with a bottle that could be wonderful and could be overrated. It is more economical to just buy the bottle. If the experiment works, I get a free month of legendary drinking. To my mind, bottle testing at Seven Grand just doesn't make sense.

He told me about the happy hour specials and also informed me that it was free pool night (on Mondays). I'm not a huge fan of whiskey, but I've found that whiskey bars tend to have amazing craft cocktails. I browsed the HH menu and noticed a Whiskey Sour. I actually like a Clarified Whiskey Sour and was curious to see how it compared. The Whiskey Sour wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the Clarified Sour that I've had at Reserve 101 in Houston. Kyle told me they're working on some clarified cocktails. I also ordered a Boulevardier (which isn't on the HH menu). Kyle admitted that he had never made one. He quickly looked up the ingredients and made one for me and it wasn't bad! I've only had this cocktail one other time before so I didn't have much to compare it to, but I did enjoy it. They have a small cigar menu. Cigars can be smoked outside on the patio (which is shared with Las Perlas and Caña Rum Bar). I liked the laid back feel between the pool tables and the rustic decor (it felt like I was in a lodge). Though I'm not a big whiskey drinker, I did enjoy the cocktails as well as the ambiance.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
