5 Stars! My wife needed a backrest for the custom sissy bar on my motorcycle. They immediately had some good ideas and we kicked the design around. The punchline is that my wife said "It's perfect. It's comfortable and looks like it came with the bike." The sissy bar is black with a wolf/mountains/stars design. The bike is black and chrome. We used a black textured to match the cruiser seat, but a silver "carbon fiber" design material on the back so the pattern is visible and pops. We're very happy with how it looks. Functionally, they put a thick (3/8"?) plastic, then wood, then another plastic layer to give a solid rigidity. The back has four snaps so it can be taken off. They are super nice folks and, from my experience, know what they are doing both in design and function. They can be busy and it might take longer than you hope. Sometimes they need to order things and wait. They are also busy because they are in demand. And, happily, they take pride in their work so they aren't going to just slap it together. I'll go back for some custom car work. I hope you have a great experience, too. Oh, price. Given the time and care put into it, I think it was a very reasonable price. Deep cleaned and treated the leather seats, rebuilt and refoamed the driver side, helped me with a door handle that had fallen off...and cleared the drains on my convertible top all for a fair price. If you want to be overcharged for seat cover installation, this place is for you. I was told "we charge $100 per hour usually slip on covers take about 1 hour to 2 to install.". Yet, time time between drop off and completion was less than 2 hours. Yet, I was charged for 2 hours. Why? He put 2 guys on the job, he said. It only takes 1 guy to do this job and according to reviews for the product being installed, it should take about 1 hour. If he put 2 guys on it, it should be less time, not more. To add insult to injury, they couldn't bother to rehang my garbage container AND charged 3+% service charge to use my credit card. As the owner said, the price only increases, not decreases. Let that be your warning motto not to trust this business. RESPONSE: You did not start on my car when it was brought in and you called that it was complete at 10:59. So, not just a few minutes, more like a half an hour. The reviews were from customers. So I'll believe their estimates, even when it was hard for them. Overcharge if you must, but do it right. An extra charge on an inflated cost is both wrong, in passing it on to customers, but mathematically inaccurate. YOUR "FACTS" KEEP CHANGING. I've found that what a person says first is usually the truth. And, you never disclosed that you only charge in full hours. That's not a discount, that's bordering on fraud...nondisclosure of a policy to a consumer, when disclosure is reasonable and necessary. read more

Excellent service, great prices, family run business. Can fix anything from loose ceiling fabric to wet carpets to brand new upholstery. They can completely take apart the inside of your car and put it back together again perfectly. Office can be a bit disorganized though. Terrific, family-owned business. We have a leather chair that took some damage from the dog. They picked it up from our house, took the time to find a match for the color (not easy! It's a wacky shade of orange!) and texture of the leather, and delivered it back to our home. We are very happy with the results. My only feedback is that they are a small business and it took a bit longer to get the chair back than I would have hoped because they had a couple of larger jobs they all needed to handle together. You might look at the 3-3.5 rating of this place and think--that's not that bad, and it's close/convenient, so I'll just go there. Before you do, think again. Dealing w/ Celia, the main person at Jesus Auto Upholstery was a nightmare. She quoted the initial job at $150, but I negotiated down to $100. After I helped Jesus remove center console arm rest for my car, a task that collectively took us three minutes, I called later that they not start any work since I'd found a part I'd rather have used instead which should dramatically reduce the cost--it was the material for the arm rest. I came in to give her the new part and ask for an updated quote. She first said $25 and then immediately changed the quote to $75. I told her why don't we split it and do the deal at $50. She said no, and that there was a $75 minimum. I said that didn't work for me and asked for my part back. She said Jesus wasn't around and I'd have to come back. I came back today and asked for the part and she said it'd be $20 for the labor involved in taking of the part--one that took me and Jess to do together in under three minutes. I told her I'd pay her $10 and she said no--implying I couldn't have my part back. I just wanted to get out of there and said I'd pay, she wrote up an invoice and I gave her my credit card and she said they don't take credit card payments for less than $100 and insisted on cash. I gave her the $19 in cash I had on me. It was frustrating and disappointing to have a part taken hostage and no option but to comply. Very nice people but I was still frustrated with the experience. I was given a quote over the phone for specifically replacing the entire back seat and both front seats. It was an all-in quote. When I brought the car in, it started feeling like a Turkish bizarre.....the place was very disorganized and they had no record of my quote. They said that was very, very cheap and quoted me an additional $500 for only 75% of the original work and then said that they could do everything for twice the original quote. So far the craftsmanship seems ok but we did lose a phone charger and a back seat netting after picking up the car. Yes, they were cheaper than other upholstery places but I would not trust them 100%. If you do use them, be prepared to negotiate and get everything in writing. Not sure how many stars I should give. This shop moved into the neighborhood maybe a year ago and I thought I would give them a try. In our commuter car the seam on one of the seats had to be restitched before it got any worse. Looked like a small job. Jesus, the boss, told me some price and then he said "but for you it's only so and so" He had a big grin on his face. Seemed like a nice guy and a fair price. So I accepted. I arranged a day when I was not working, dropped the car off and then went to pick it up later on. When I got there I inspected the work and it was crummy, literally. I was not happy. Jesus kinda looked at it for a while and then agreed that it could be better. I left the car there overnight and picked it up next day. This time it was done just fine for a commuter car, and I was happy. (you could still see that it was fixed, but you had to look really closely. And for a six year old car, it was fine). In speaking with one of the employees, I found out that the original job was done by an employee. And it was a pretty crummy job. Luckily the owner agreed and then had to do the whole job all over. I am happy now, but 1) it was a bit of an unnecessary hassle, 2) took an extra day 3) they only work weekdays and close at 5PM 4) their answering machine wouldn't accept messages. Now you know why I said that I don't know how many stars I would give them. I have a couple of classic cars that need work every so often. I don't think I will bring them to this shop. Which is too bad because the owner was actually a nice guy and the shop is close to our home...... read more

It was a simple job, to reupholster the bench seat for an old pickup, and the process was equally, beautifully simple. I selected the material, received a bid, then was contacted when the material was received by the shop. I dropped my truck off in the morning, and had my newly upholstered seat the same day. I brought my SUV in last week to have 2 holes in the seats repaired. This has to be the most disorganized business I have seen since I don't know when. The appearance of their office tells it all. The office looks like a tsunami went through it. Calling it a mess would be an understatement. So I go in and get an estimate for the work to be done. I agree and put a downpayment with them so they can order in needed parts. After a week, I hear nothing from them, so I call them. They say bring it in tomorrow ( on Tuesday) which I do. They say they might have it done by end of day, or Wednesday for sure. I hear nothing and call at the end of Tuesday, but it is not ready. OK. I hear nothing Wednesday, and call them at the end of Wednesday . . . not ready. They say will be done Thursday. I hear nothing and call at the end of Thursday . . . not done . . . see the common thread here?! I tell them that I HAVE to have it on Friday. I hear nothing and call them late Friday and they say come down at 5:30 . . . which I do. Not ready . . . WTH????? But they do have ready at 7 pm. The work was satisfactory. They are nice people. WARNING.....Stay Away!! These guys are really bad. Had my truck drivers seat reupholstered and after bringing it back 3 times within 1 1/2 years because the color was coming off....,after 3 years the seat was entirely different color than the others. Of course its not warrantied? Cost me 460.00 first time and this last time she wanted 250.00 to redo the whole seat to make like new. Never happened.......they just repainted it again and I'm sure it won't last. Fortunately I'm selling the truck but I would never do business with these crooks again... you are warned!!! Oh yeah.... they were to keep it overnite on a Friday and pick it up Saturday around 3:00 after they called me. Jesus just re-upholstered the driver's seat on my Mercedes wagon. He used the same material that was used originally by Mercedes, and he rebuilt the springs and padding, all for the same price that I would have paid if I ordered just the material online. We asked Jesus to replace the headliner on our 20-year-old Jeep, because it had frayed and separated from the padding and was in danger of obstructing the driver's view. He gave us an appointment in three days. We left the vehicle first thing in the morning and picked it up just before 5:00 pm the same day. Jesus had matched the color exactly; the finishing looks tight and perfect and--forgive the cliché--like new. Jesus had offered us a reduced rate for the headliner and carpet together, but we elected to do only the headliner for now. Depending on how things go, we'll consider the carpet next year. I should add that the price worked for us, but I did not do any comparative pricing. In the words of our regular mechanic who referred us to Jesus, "Everyone I've sent there has been satisfied." Bottom line: they did a good job reupholstering the roof of my Saab, which cost $425. Friends tell me that was a reasonable price, though I did not comparison shop, since I wanted a location close to home because those same friends had to ferry me to and from the shop. I left the car for 2 days. While I finally concluded the shop was honest and competent, this took some doing, since they are so disorganized. I went for an estimate, talked with Ivan and made an appointment. When I called to confirm my arrival the next day, Jose did not know who I was. When I brought the car in, there was yet another "in charge," Cecilia, the wife of Jesus, who was out of town. Since I was leaving my car for 2 days, this created some anxiety on my part. All turned out well - but I wish the shop had a manager. When I picked up the car, there were some sticky marks on the leather seats, which Ivan gladly cleaned up. As I drove away, I realized I should have asked them to vacuum inside the car which, of course, was dirty, but feel they should have thought of that. I was at this place couple of times. Mildly happy for their work, they did a fair job with prices not too high. Anyway the last time they did a big damage to my car. They fixed the electric seats but damaged a sensor on the passenger side and the airbag alarm came up. They were not able to fix it, ok but they gave me a big problem. I payed over 300$ for electric seat repair and they did me another 500$ damage. I understand that they may not be able to fix what they break, but at least they could pay me for the damage they did, it would be the minimum required. I brought my car to them with air bag working and i picked it up with airbag out of order. I should sue them but I don't have time neither money to do it. Don't ever go to fix your your car to these people. read more

first, i must say that i was pleased with the end-quality of work but the whole experience was not very professional. i had gone to several other shops for quotes and then went to get a quote from jesus. he seemed like a nice enough stressed out shop owner and he quoted me a price that was fairly cheap. i then agreed to have the work done and when i showed up with my vehicle jesus then proceeded to tell me that a bunch of stuff he and i had previously talked about wasn't included in the price. humm ?? then the price magically increased - since i was already there with my rv (and new price was still average compared to others) i reluctantly just agreed. i dropped off some things that could be worked on without my vehicle and scheduled a time for the remainder of the work. when i called to confirm that jesus would be there he said sure and then i showed up and he had left. the next day after getting a hold of jesus on the phone i re-scheduled. when i showed up at the agreed time, i was told that other people had come in earlier without appointments and that the shop didn't have time to work on my vehicle. third time is the charm - i showed up at scheduled time and they completed my work. i should note that the other guys in the shop were extremely nice and helpful but jesus is the boss and the one you will ultimately deal with. like i said before, the end result turned out well but i would not recommend these guys unless you are understanding, extremely patient and get a detailed quote in writing ahead of time.. read more
