She arrived with a smile on her face, the food, and the setup. Being 9 women cousins meant a lot of talking and laughing. Jennifer jumped right in. She served us downstairs with the appetizers while we played a game and then called us up to the dining room when the dinner was ready to eat. We ordered our meal as a buffet. She had the table set and we just helped ourselves. The salmon was like none other.... out of the 9 of us, I am the only one who does not eat salmon. I ate the whole salmon fillet. I do not know what she did but every time I order salmon I will be comparing it to Jennifers'. The dinner was spectacular but the dessert was one I am still thinking about. Crepes with mascarpone cheese, poached pear with caramel drizzle. It was truly a wonderful experience and a dinner we will never forget. This was my first experience with a personal chef. Jennifer helped me through the whole process, from making up the menu, payment, no worry set up, and leaving the kitchen spotless. I can't imagine another chef doing anything more than Jennifer. Drove from Aurora to Boulder and my first interaction, Emmett one of the owners was so kind and accommodating! I arrived at 11am and my order wasn't going to be ready till 4pm!? What?? Emailed the company and asked kindly due to my kids school schedule and driving from Aurora could they please have it ready by 12? Yes! Thank you Emmett and team for helping a busy Mama of 3 who had time management concerns. Fast forward to cooking time for a virtual Yelp event. My husband and I always do these together and of course for ribs who wouldn't? The sweet pineapple sauce for the ribs was so tangy and sweet, while the ribs were fall of the bone delicious! I've never had collard greens before and not sure how I felt about those. My husband says they go great with bacon so wondering if next time adding those would help? The beans and hominy were fantastic and quite a surprise! Never had hominy outside of Pozole. Never even considered hominy in any other capacity. Nicely done! I bet the standard toppings come with mustard, geeze! Fuhgeddaboudit! Yeah, Fuhgeddaboudit!".... And SCENE!!! Not sure what that all means, but I actually am from New York, am a legitimate sammie snob, spent time in Sandwich, MA, and LOVE Snarf's Italian Sub. And while I may be judging it on the handicapped Colorado sandwich rating scale which gives it an additional half star per side, it's still a damn good sandwich! I always go with the "Novice", it's perfectly short, and densely packed with lots of thinly sliced Italian meats, provolone, lettuce, tomato & onion. Their grinder-style oven ALWAYS gets the sandwich nice & hot. Yes, the bread can sometimes get a bit dry & crispy, but it often is a nice textural contrast to the juicy sandwich filling. Finally, two things that put it over the top: #1. a perfect mélange of oil & vinegar AND mayo. Yep, gotta have 'em all to make the magic just right! And #2. Their amazing proprietary blend of Hot giardiniera peppers. The best mix I've possibly ever had-- including NYC! One SIDE NOTE (and I'm being totally serious): Yes, if you order ALL THE TOPPINGS, you'll get mustard. So please, do me a favor, and DON'T get mustard on your Italian hero, Fuhgeddaboudit! Other favorite sandwiches that I have enjoyed at Snarfs locations in Boulder over the last 25+ years: the Meatball (extra parmesan), the Prime Rib & Provolone (mayo only), and the Turkey & Swiss (extra Swiss, of course).
