This business just lost a long-time customer. I've used this dry cleaner for years, but my most recent experience was unacceptable. I brought in a suit with vomit stains and specifically pointed out the areas that needed attention. I gave them more than a week's notice and was assured the suit would be ready the day before a wedding. When I arrived to pick it up, the suit wasn't ready. Despite having ample time and knowing the deadline in advance, they told me there was nothing they could do. Because of their failure to deliver as promised, I was forced to scramble at the last minute to find another suit for an important event. What was most disappointing was their lack of accountability. While I was told they hoped this wouldn't affect my future business, when the suit was finally ready several days after the wedding, I was still charged full price for a service that failed to meet its most basic commitment: being completed on time. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds to them matters. There was no meaningful attempt to make things right, no discount, and no effort to take responsibility for the inconvenience they caused. I had my Canada goose coat dry cleaned there. When I got the coat back it was balled up. Some places had zero down. I didn't realize it until I got back from Alabama. We split our time here and down south. When I took it back it took him over 3 weeks to try to fix it. His response to me was I didn't need it right now anyway. When it finally came back it was still the same. Half in balls, none in some places. The guy suggested that I send it to Canada Goose so I did. Here is the response I got from CG We hope this reaches you well. The issues found with your jacket were deemed as improper caress the jacket arrived damaged and we did try reviving the damage on three separate occasions but it was not fixable. The same areas are still clumped with down and since this was taken to a third party cleaner by you that it is not recommended and deemed improper care. We understand that this was not the result you expected , and we want you to know our warranty team thoroughly inspected your jacket before reaching the decision that it could not be repaired without causing further damage to your jacket. In cases where we are unable to make a repair under warranty we will often offer repairs for a nominal fee, however in the case of your jacket we are unable to have it fixed even at a cost. We hope you continue to trust Canada Goose to protect you in the future, we will request the jacket be returned to you at our expense in 10 days or upon your reply to the email. So the guy said he cannot replace my jacket when he has no idea what I did to it. I have my airline receipt of where I flew home. He was of no help!!! So my 1200.00 jacket that was a gift to me is completely ruined. They knew it was messed up that is why they kept it for 3 weeks trying to fix it. My advice to all is to find another dry cleaners. Today was my First experience with Jet Cleaners in Yorkville. I am truly offended. I would Never recommend this business! ...I have Never even been Inside this establishment in my life. ...I am in a wheelchair, and my husband takes me for rides, and I take photos of businesses, as I ride by, and post them on GoogleMaps to help others find businesses. - I posted a photo of the outside of Jet Cleaners on GoogleMaps. ...The Yorkville owner hunts me down, then calls me up a few minutes ago, accusing me of being someone I am not, (Bethany) Wow! And for changing his hours, which I Did Not change, Wow! And for messing with his "website", by posting a photo of his business on GoogleMaps, Wow! And also accused me of being someone else (Bethany) that he apparently had a lawsuit with! ...Really? ...He calls Me out of nowhere and tries to start a fight with me on the phone! I am appalled! On Monday 7/12/2017 I arrived at Jet Cleaners in Yorktown, New York with three Ralph Lauren big pony polo shirts, one pair of black Sean John jeans and one pair of Levis jeans. I placed an order to have the items dry cleaned. I was told by the female clerk they would be ready on Saturday 7/15/2017 and the total cost was $30.35. I returned to the store on July 15th and was given my items, I immediately noticed that the shirts were wrinkled and had not been creased. The black Sean John jeans looked serviced, however the one pair of Levis jeans had, what looked like, a burnt brown streak towards the bottom of the leg, at the cuff of the jeans. I advised the clerk, and she immediately stated, "It must be the machine as they have had this issue before." The clerk then took the pair of jean back to see if the damage could be fixed. I was given another date that the jeans would be ready for pick up on Monday 07/17/2017. When I came back the stains where still there. The clerk advised me, she would send them to the main store in Rome 502 N James St Rome, NY 13440, to see if they could do anything about the damage. When I asked for the manger's name and information, for a point of contact, I was told I could leave my number and the manager would call me back as she did not want to get in trouble. I found this peculiar, so the next day I called the Rome office and spoke to Gilbert Castle. I advised Gilbert of my issue, he was very short with me, as if my issue was bothersome. After about 10 mins of back and forth conversation, he simply told me that he would refund the $30.00 and promptly hung up, ending the call. I had to call back and inform him that my jeans were $60.00 so the refund would not cover the damage done to my jeans, also advising him that these jeans were fairly new. He stated that my jeans were too old and the stain was my fault. He went on to tell me that when I brought the jeans in, they were, as he called it, "soiled". I explained to him I don't work outside, I sit at a desk in an office, so why would they be soiled? I also went on to mention that he was not there at the time I brought them to be cleaned, so how would he know if they were soiled at all? I went further to explain, that the main reason I bring the jeans to the cleaners was to maintain the color, as they are black jeans. He then advised me that he was not going to reimburse the price of the jeans, and said, petulantly, that if I did not like the outcome to take him to small claims court.
