He…read morewas suppose to be in there for 10 days, but because of the nasty and unsanitary conditions there, he ended up getting an infection that required another surgery. The living conditions have been unacceptable at best. The wheel chair that they used to transport him to his room was covered with slimmy ooze, the floors are so sticky that my mom almost fell from her shoes sticking to the floor/carpet. The staff only offer a shower 2 times a week and didn't even think to clean him in between showers. My father is pre-diabetic and the staff gave him nothing more than pudding for dinner one night, which is absolutely unacceptable! When he rang his buzzer to ask for assistance, the staff doesn't respond. He ended up having to get out of bed and walk himself to the bathroom which was highly dangerous for him, but he was desperate. We are looking to move him from this place ASAP!!! This is clearly some place you send someone to die, not to get better.

My mom's room is nice and spacious, compared to what I've seen at other places. The entire facility is clean, and well taken care of. Medical care has been top notch for me at Anschutz for decades. Their parking situation used to be…read moremarginal for convenience but always free. I was shocked to hear from a friend back east that her medical facilities charge for parking. Since the Anschutz campus was expanded and enhanced a few years ago, they used the opportunity to consolidate outpatient parking into a massive, easy to use garage. Some people hunt and peck through the levels and it takes time and a lot of jockeying of cars. We go straight up to the first level we find mostly empty and take the space of our choice. This can be out in the sun sometimes or close up to the elevators. It depends on the weather and the mood of the patient. But it's never a hassle, no matter what time of day. This time we had a few minutes extra to wait so we opted to stay here rather than in a waiting room. We were able to watch the landing of an emergency helicopter over on the University Hospital roof and then, a few minutes later, watch it take off.

The assistant and/or nurse that brought us back (even tho scared of my service dog) brought us large tub of water for her and an oxygen tank for me, so I could save battery on my portable for drive home. Yesterday, we met with Pre Procedure Services and the NP was thorough, went through all of my medications, reviewed my providers and finally, EKG. She did a great job and I was surprised to see that the patient room was tidy and clean (first) for me. Of course, we walked so much, I couldn't breathe, barely catching my breath, used rescue inhaler and finally, could breathe. We live about 25 miles away, its rush hour traffic, due to timing so it takes little over an hour (one way) to get home.

Plus they bill them directly and just collect your patient portion. ++ Wait times can vary, but we've never waited over and hour to be seen. ++ Weekday hours from 8am to 8pm and weekend hours from 9am to 4pm give plenty of time for emergency non-life-threatening issues to be looked at. While I never wish for an urgent care visit, I rest easy knowing we have NextCare Urgent Care nearby.

Then I left another voicemail a few days later. this past Monday I called and spoke to someone at the desk. still nothing. I called again today and the lady says I need to be seen every 6 months to follow up on these meds . No one has ever told me that. It has been 6.5 months since my last visit . All the times I've called over the past 2 weeks and I'm just now hearing this? No call back, nothing. Keep in mind this is for narcolepsy and my follow up appointments take about 2 min because they have no idea what I've been through the past 10 years with this diagnosis. they aren't trained for sleep disorders. They charge an arm and a leg to say " how's it working" I tell them "great" and then it's over. $$$$$$ out the door for absolutely no reason. Do not go here.
