We booked a month-long rental for over $11,000 a week in Dennis, MA this past summer. We were not…read moresatisfied at all with the efforts put in by Kinlin Grover, the rental agents. The house was not ready for our arrival - it had not been cleaned thoroughly, owners clothing items still in the house, doors and windows stuck, outside shower not turned on, propane tank not filled, pictures leaning up against the wall...just to name a few things. Anytime we needed something fixed, it was a hassle...and we had workers in and out of the house for the first two weeks of our stay - repairing things that should have been done before our arrival (fixing toilets, setting up the stairs to the beach, etc.) The property manager for the house did not even show up once while we were there. Clearly, Kinlin Grover did not do a thorough inspection of the house before we arrived - which is completely shocking in my opinion, especially considering the price we paid for this month-long rental.

This happened after my detailed explanation about my coordinating large family reunion spanning 3 continents. They had no sensitivity to the logistics involved and were clearly just interested in renting anything to anyone. You would be better off renting through the internet directly from owners. These middle-men para professional women of cape cod are nothing more than old school peddlers. If you want a no value-add real estate agent come here.

Peggy Farber, agent at Gibson Sothebys, Brewster, Ma, was a very unresponsive, unprofessional…read morelisting agent for our Brewster home. In the heart of the Cape selling season, she vacationed in Italy for 2 weeks. She never informed us that she was leaving; left no forwarding contact information. We sent her emails and phone calks to her at this time, all of which were unanswered. We finally called Gibson Sothebys and were told all the agents were in a meeting. Later that day Sothebys called to say she was in Europe and unreachable. No personal contact with her from 8/27 to 9/24/19. Speaking to real estate agents in our town, all remarked that the behavior was most unprofessional. We asked on 9/20/19 for a list of agents who had shown our house; she responded on 10/13. We asked her to send us her marketing emails; no response and unheeded. Asked her to remove the sign after Thanksgiving; no response and unheeded. Asked her for landscape referrals since ours abruptly left; received the names 8 days later. Beware, she talks a good game to receive the listing and then behaves in the above manner. Hint: ask for references of former clients and local service personnel in the area before hiring her. The sale of our home became a nightmare!
