For all the ladies out there who find car problems terrifying, Gazo is a GODSEND. Honest, friendly, and absolutely the BEST mechanic bar none. He can diagnose a problem by just smelling the coolant reservoir and then testing it with a smog tester. To know that the head gasket is leaking. Of course, that was indeed the problem - as told to me by a dealership who WOULD have charged me $165 for JUST a diagnosis. I opted not to replace it - even though he would've charged $1000 LESS. Instead he gave me a temporary fix for pennies. He counseled me about what I could do in the future and told me to call if my Land Rover gave me any signs of sickness. Truly he is an amazing DOCTOR of all things auto! I'm fortunate I live close by! read more

I haven't even given this place my service but i am giving this review based on a quote to rebuild my 2003 Nissan Sentra engine super common 2.5 liter Japanese engine and the guy quoted me over 4 grand, i told him another place quoted me 1595 and he said that wasn't a rebuild, the lady from valley auto and engines named allllll the parts that would be checked and replaced with their $1600 rebuild, this guy couldn't name shit he would do for the over 4 grand he just said I'd have to pull the engine from the bottom with the tranny so you mean, your job? Lmao i just don't get how one business can charge over twice as much for the same service, you swear it's a 5.8 LS turbo charged or some shit, who's paying 4 k to rebuild a 2003 Nissan Sentra... idk but I'm not a sucker read more

Went in for a smog on a 99 Toyota Tacoma. Gazo went above and beyond, there was a small issue with the car which he showed me and advised me to fix. No hard sell, he got me past the smog and out the door with no issues. I will definitely use him in the future and you should too. read more

Gazo helped me out so much with my coupe, he fixed my oil problem and everytime I come back for an oil change he makes sure that my car is running well by checking the tire thread, pressure and engine bay. He even put more washer fluid in for me! He also charges about half the price for an oil change compared to Just Tires and others. read more

Gazo is incredibly kind and honest. I have an 2004 RX-8 with 24k miles, which meant I wanted someone who knew the ways around a rotary engine. Gazo was highly recommended by a friend. I'm so thankful for that recommendation. He not only looked at my car without hesitation but didn't try to sell me on anything. He gave me excellent advice on my car considering he's owned and rebuilt countless rotary engines before. He was never pushy or sales-y. Owner ghosted me just for asking for a quote, not professional. I got my oil change with him and he did an OK job. It was tough to make an appointment and he forgot about our appointment, so good thing that I reminded him the day before. About 5 months later, I asked him about new brake pads and rotors for my car, he told me to call him back when he has time if I want a quote. I called him back, he hung up on me when I just mentioned my name and the brakes. I didn't know he hung up and thought we hand a bad connection, so I tried calling him later and got a hold of him, he answered "J&G Auto" and I mentioned my name and brakes again, he pretend that no one with his name works there ... he answered "J&G Auto" and he's the only one who works there. Not sure if he just didn't feel like it's worth his time to provide a quote. read more

What can I say about this shop and the owner/mechanic Gazo. When mechanical abilities limits me...this is one of a couple of shops I go to. I drive a distance to get here. All the reviews here about him is accurate. Gazo knows his cars. He is knowledgeable with all my different car questions. His prices are extremely reasonable. He does not over charge you nor upsell you like others. Do not let the physical appearance of the shop scare you away. Not meant to be comfortable waiting while your car is being repaired. This is all business mechanic garage.. no coffee or donuts or waiting area....but the work is top notch. I have reffered many friends here amd they are all satisfied. I called this place at 8am asking for a quote on a repair and he said he'd called me back after he looks up how much parts are (other places told me i'd have to drive my car there so they can inspect it). He called back within 10 mins. I told Gazo i wasn't comfortable driving my car (even though it was only .5 miles away) and he even offered to come to drive it for me! How sweet of him. He looked at my car and noticed other problems and told me he'll do a full inspection and give me a call to let me know other things he found. Honesty. A very rare quality that doesn't come often with such conviction. I brought my Honda Accord in for smog and met Gazo. First thing he noticed was my timing was off. This was due to the distributor having been replaced at a more commercial service center. He kindly made the small adjustment, put my car through the rounds and everything checked out... nearly. Upon visual inspection, he noticed that my car had a universal catalytic converter installed. He jacked it up and checked the part number. After referencing several databases, he concluded that the cat was intended for different Hondas/Acuras with the smaller displacements (Civics, Integras, etc.). It was obviously not good news, but it was the fact. My previous smog checks all passed because the conductors of the tests were simply looking to see if the cat was there, and if it was undamaged. This additional step just proves that Gazo knows what he's doing. He could easily have overlooked this or passed my car on the basis of the exhaust measurements, but failing the inspection shows his integrity. I got the catalytic converter replaced and my car passed with flying colors! I appreciate that he was honest about the issue. It shows how much he cares for his shop and in turn, for his customers. Having moved in to the Montrose area, I'm certain I'll be seeing him again soon for other services! read more

I have to admit I too was impressed with all the five star reviews Gazo has on yelp I decided to take my 2005 Nissan Altima to him to look at. I already knew the problem I needed to change all 4 motor mounts I brought my car to Gazo last Saturday in which he told me he needed to do his "homework" and "research" how much it was going to cost to change the mounts with factory parts or how much it would cost for labor to install aftermarket parts a week later and three calls on three different days where Gazo swears "he's going to get back to me" that he's just "busy" with other cars. I've never met a mechanic that has too much work to give a customer a simple quote there's no such thing as too much work I guess he prioritizes who he wants to accept money from. I've never met a mechanic that didn't want new cliental but I guess he's too busy now a days to deal with new in coming customers. read more

I took my car in after my boyfriend recommended Gazo as a great, fair, and trustworthy business. I was convinced I needed new brakes and most likely new rotors. Gazo was super polite when I met him and checked my brakes over for me. He told me that I still had 35% left on my brake pads and was in no danger from my rotors. Gazo was the only mechanic in the area who was able to find the cause of my coolant leak. The others were quoting me crazy prices and had actually misdiagnosed to cause. He didn't even charge me for the time he spent taking stuff apart, and not a single drop of coolant has leaked since he fixed it. I definitely recommend him for major jobs. I found another good mechanic in the area, and I AM GLAD I DID. Brought my Lincoln Navigator to take care of heater core issues, and brought another car which was having a leak in the tranny, but has gone undetected by others. I know for a fact that it was leaking - I would put a clean cardboard underneath the car at night and would always find a cherry red liquid on it, and I would park in a clean parking space at work only to leave in the afternoon with some liquid under my car.. Cut long story short, I had this checked several times --- but then--- still it was leaking. It was such a pain to put tranny fluid almost 2X a week so as not to trigger the tranny check light. It was late Saturday afternoon, and Gazo worked on my car despite the fact that it was already past 6:00 PM. The effort to finish my car without compromising the quality is just amazing. I really appreciate the effort of trying to finish my car, so we can all both call it a day and a Happy weekend.
