Made an appointment here days in advance for my husband and I to enjoy a relaxing afternoon together, booked a babysitter and everything, only to show up EARLY, wait for 20 minutes, for the front desk assistant (very rude btw) to say it will be ANOTHER 20 minutes. I'm pregnant and we were both very much looking forward to this. No apologies were made, nor anything to try to make the situation right. Since we had to book a babysitter, we didn't have the luxury to wait an additional 45 min past our appointment time. Very frustrating. This was my first time going to Jia: First time getting "reflexology" and First chair massage. The chair massage was intense, so if you don't like real tough quick kneading, it might not be for you. Personally for me, just as soon as it felt a bit rough, she would move onto another muscle in that area so then all of a sudden it felt released and good. No complaints here. The "reflexology" was another story entirely. I have never had it done before so afterwards, because I felt SO letdown, I did a deep dive on the internet. At Jia there were no pressure points focused on or pressed in anyway. It was all very fast kneading massage movements, and completely lightweight on the toes. Was it the best massage I've ever had on my feet? Absolutely. But not reflexology at all. Furthermore, the menu on their website & front desk is flat out deceptive. It says above the 30 minute AND 60 minute prices that a reflexology session includes head, neck and shoulder massage. I did not receive any of those and was honestly ticked off and confused. I couldn't ask the masseuse because she did not speak any English at all. The man at the front desk said "oh, that's only for the 60 minute." I told him that they need to change their sign. Lastly, as another reviewer wrote, I get that it is not a salon spa with closed rooms and lengthy robes... but dude....you can hear other employees chitchatting in the back normal voice level. Someone back there playing a phone VIDEO with music that was clashing with the speaker music above (?!) and the main desk guy was wearing clackety shoes, opening and shutting drawers constantly! There is literally a sign at the front desk to speak quietly for other peoples comfort ... But what the heck are YOU doing in your own facility?? Overall, I left with my back and feet feeling lovely... But this place is not at all what it advertises, and I am irritated and disappointed. I will not be going back. read more

I came here on a whim. I had a 60 min foot massage. 1) While my feet were soaking, I got a head, neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage. usually you just sit there while your feet soak. This was very nice. 2) The gentleman who helped me was an older, slim guy. He was a little stronger than I would have liked, but I didn't say anything, and after it was over, it felt amazing. I wish I could find a good foot massage place in Charlotte. I went here for a 90-minute foot massage and hoped for the end after 15 minutes. I had a petite female masseuse, yet she consistently dragged my skin like a butter knife, and the only massage technique was UP AND DOWN! Imagine that same motion for the majority of the massage time. It was lazy, didn't feel good, and multiple times I had to call out the pressure being too rigid. They didn't ask about the experience at all before checkout, so I still tipped, paid, and left, but I'm not going back anytime soon. The last time I went here was pre-Covid, and my male masseuse was good. I don't know what happened, but the fact that they wear rubber gloves while massaging you is a massive turn-off from a massage experience. After the massage, I called her and said I hate her for not telling me about this place sooner! I had a two hour combination massage, which included 90mins body plus 30mins foot. My therapist was so professional and attentive. He feels where the problems are that I don't even need to say a word! It was also my first time having a massage from a male therapist. So the good.. they got me in quickly and were very polite. The location had good parking and was easy to find. The woman who checked me in and out was very kind. The meh... the person who completed my foot massage didn't seem experienced in the area of massage... what I mean she was just rubbing my feet haphazardly with no direction. She never asked about pressure, painful spots or needs. Why I say that ... well I had a bruise on my leg from a fall (closed bruise but sensitive to touch). I let the person know but she didn't understand and asked for clarity from the front desk person (which i appreciate) but she kept massaging the bruise after clarity! I continued to block the spot which didn't help. The location was like an office suite they placed some bowls in for your feet and recliners. I saw that Jia had the best reviews near me, so I gave it a try today. Very clean, soothing music, privacy. All wonderful. I selected the 1 hour foot massage. The massage was great, so my only gripe and reason for not giving 5 stars is because the clock starts when you put your feet in to soak, so that's 10-15 minutes gone, then they massage your head, neck, arms, shoulders, thighs for about 20-25 minutes leaving you with only about a 20-30 minute foot massage. I really wanted to like this place since a friend told me about it. The reason I'm rating lower are for two reasons. For the full body massage that was an hour I asked the lady to bring more attention to my shoulder. She never gave that area much attention and did her own thing. In the beginning of the massage there's a blanket they use to push down on top of the body for what seems like too long. Doesn't feel good. The massage was decent but feel like it lacked in those areas. Maybe I would try them again but I'm afraid that the areas I'm paying to be massaged won't get addressed. read more

The best Foot Massage so far. I've had many foot massages in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Etc. This is far the best experience. Unlike the other Asian foot massage places, these folks don't do the meat tenderizing thing. I've read the other reviews and you're all ignorant of what an Asian foot massage is supposed to be. It's not a spa treatment. It's historically a healing art that really works pressure points and release toxins in your body. So don't expect fine linens and mood setting music of oceans, the Amazon rain forest or anything else that'll make you want to pee. The intent is not to just lather your up with oil. If that's what you want, go to a spa. This is a tactical massage with the intent to release toxins so drink a ton of water. Know that Jia Massage however takes a softer approach and will not "tenderize" you like the other Asian Foot Massage places. I've been here 8 times. I purposely waited to write this review. It's worth the money and the trip. I live 40 minutes away and I'm going again this afternoon. I take the whole family! read more

My husband and I went for a 30 back massage and 30 min foot massage. When my back was done I rolled over and my husbands ass was fully out. I later learned the therapist pulled down and took his pants off. I was not happy that this is being allowed and will never go back. Customer service: very minimal talking between customer and staffs. And desired services and needs will be communicated with the manager prior to service. Spa: very clean from what I can see! Massage: I honestly thought you will only get 30mins of foot massage. But it's 15mins of your head, 15 mins for each arm and hand. Then 30 mins for your feet. Really equal to an hour! The minus star was for using petroleum jelly as a form of oil I guess. Which I didn't really care for. They were able to take our reservation when I only made it an hour before. I had been walking 10 hours per day for a few days and desperately needed this.
