They check in during the massage once or twice to make sure the pressure is good or if you more or less. They have everything from deep tissue and sports massage to relaxation and prenatal as well as anything between. Parking is tricky at certain times of the day as Elements is located in a plaza with other stores (Home Goods!),so consider that when arriving for appointments. Pricing is pretty close to all the other massage places, maybe a little higher, but the quality and personalization of the massage makes it worth it. I do have a few favorite therapists depending on what I'm looking for in my massage, but I'm not sharing names because then I won't be able to get in with them Since I had massage brain( it's a thing), I forgot to take some pictures. Guess that means you're going to have to check them out for yourself!

My then 92 year old uncle only wanted every other month appointments so I paid $620 for 2024. Unfortunately, my uncle died before using his 2024 appointments. Although Melissa asked me to give her two months for a refund, which I did, and she sent me a photo of the refund precessing a month ago - still no refund and only long, dramatic diatribes instead from her. This was my experience and I would not recommend this company and would not want other customers to fight for refunds and deal with all of this nonsense. I believe she just got back from a month long vacation which makes it worse. I hope this helps others who may be thinking of using her services.

So I made a last minute reservation on Valentine's Day, and the receptionist was very pleasant and eager to book my appointment. They accommodated my every request, and even sent a confirmation text shortly afterwards to confirm (I like that a lot!). When we arrived, it was a smaller business complex off of park road. They texted me a few hours before with some general directions, which was quite helpful. The suite was nice and cozy. I was blown away by all of the extra effort they put into our couples massage! They had special decorations, candles, flowers, and even served us a glass of red wine before the massage!!! So cool! Then the good part.... I had Rachel. Hands down Kaylene is the best therapist in Charlotte. I was so sad when my therapist moved into doing prenatal massage only a few years back. After a bit of searching Kaylene has filled her shoes and some. I am familiar with many different techniques but Esalen was brand new to me. I will keep an open mind for other techniques but as far as I'm concerned this is far and away my favorite style and technique and Kaylene is truly talented. She took one look and said the same thing a prior physical therapist had honed in on - that my left hip was higher than the right. She spent a solid hour working my left side. For context, I'm a deep tissue girlie. Just in Charlotte I've been to the Ballantyne Hotel Spa, Mood House, the JW Marriott, Day Break, Nature's Spa, Hand & Stone, Zen, Massage Envy etc. I know and crave a good deep tissue massage. At check-in I was told the "deep tissue" add-on only meant ~10 or 15 minutes (out of 80) of deeper pressure and the rest would be Swedish. Fine, but I had a Swedish just three weeks ago and I wouldn't have booked if I knew this was the case. However, I felt no pressure at all and the experience translated more to a $190 unscented body lotion experience, not a massage. Furthermore, the $15 eye rejuvenation add-on was one packet of eye masks I was told to use at home, which genuinely made me question - why? The space itself is gorgeous and I really did consider a membership before today, but unfortunately I left very underwhelmed and should have booked elsewhere.

We got to the room and stripped down and had an alright massage. The ladies would ask us our preference for the massage and I needed it softer at times and harder. We were also given the lavender oil option for $10 more to which we declined as the regular oil sufficed. The downside is there was no hot stone like I'm used to getting and the ladies talked to eachother laughing for probably about 10-15 minutes of the whole massage. Sometimes they would whisper but I wanted to relax and just hear the sounds of the music. The massage oil was also on the other side of the room instead of them having it nearby so they would have to stop at times and walk all the way over to reapply. We still tipped them $20 each but next time I would do single massages to avoid conversation during my paid time. I'm glad I could finally stop by and experience it after always driving by it my whole life but for the price I could get a better massage in New York.

The spa music and the lounge chair did make for a quiet transition from my busy morning into peaceful relaxing mode. Afterwards, I enjoyed a bit of time in the relaxation room. For hot tea, each day they have both a caffeinated and a decaffeinated option. It was served on a cute tray with honey and sugar options. Last, my 90 minute massage. A choice of scalp massage or foot massage was offered and I opted for the foot massage without hesitation. I requested medium pressure and only asked once for a bit less pressure in a sensitive area of my lower back, and my therapist was quick to adjust. I chose the lavender blend massage oil and it smelled lovely. Special attention was paid to my shoulders where I carry most of my tension. Having booked only a couple of days in advance, I did make a deposit of 50% up front and was already within the cancellation window. If more than one service is confirmed, a 20% gratuity for each is automatically added but that was well explained up front and during check out. I noticed a list of monthly membership options during checkout and I'm actually considering joining. It was easy to get an appointment and very relaxing, though I'd probably skip the salt cave and go right to the massage or opt for a facial next time.

Jane (owner of Massage For Life Waxhaw) is the BEST Massage Therapist around. Jane not only has a background in medicine, she actually takes the time to work with you to promote healing and as she says "fixing" the problem....She has "fixed" my neck and back each and every time I screw them up. Without her, I probably wouldn't be able to walk upright.....and the new place is awesome. She may not tell you but she spent five years at The Ballantyne Resort before going out on her own, that was their loss and my gain! Worth the drive from anywhere along the East and West Coast!
