I have had Dr. Ling as my family doctor since 10 years ago when I moved from east coase to San Francisco. M y health was bad at that time - high chlestrol. high blood sugar, fat liver, syatica, goal bladder problem, heart RRRB, ... I was weak and always felt tired. I looked for a good doctor to take care of me. When I heard that doctor is from Beijing Xiehe Hospital, I told meslef:"This is the doctor i am looking for!" I never regretted my choice. Dr. Ling is so nice, so caring, so kind. She keep on routinly monitor my health. Every three months, I have to do a blood test. She would prescribe medicines for me, according to my health condition based on the tests. When the blood suger get higher, she would tell me not to eat too much fruit. When I feel back pain, she told me how to exercise. When I have comspitition, she told me to eat a lot of vege and fruits - half bowl of vege, half bowl of fruit like dragen fruit ... Then I became all well. Before I stop this comment, I must say something about the front desk too for their great service. They do everything needed to make my visit more comfortable. And when I made trouble - getting old is no fun - sometimes I lost my prescription, sometimes I forgot to do blood test, sometimes I need to see a specialist doctor, sometimes I need prescription for memogram .... I retired from DC and moved to California in 2015. I chose Dr. Ling as my family doctor after having tried a couple of other doctors in the area. I have now stayed with her for seven years, including the years of the pandemic. As a retiree in my seventies, I need a family doctor to manage my overall health issues and Dr. Ling has provided professional care and advice. She is patient, explains lab results, putting them in my lab history and with reference to my current age and conditions. She also answers my medcial and medicine questions. Such information helps me (a non-medical person) a great deal. I rate her as great because what I need for my health she has provided. P.S. The reviews in this site show surprisingly diversion in ratings. I have read most of them. I found the assessmentssment software does two things different from other sites: (1) it does not verify the reviewers' user status [many doctors' reviews do that to make sure the the reviews are about their true experience (2) it uses "recomendation" to alter the average rating but the standard of "not recommending" is not transparent. CNET once reviews this feature on Yelp,predicting that the feature might become prevalent, but it did not. The law at present does not hold the platform responsible for the opionions of the users, but it is not so for the opinions expressed by the platform. Making the standaard more transparent might be a good policy for the platform to follow. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Ling's for many years. I see her at least once a year for my annual check-up. She is very thorough and follows up on blood test results. She is also available on short notice to address unexpected health issues. If necessary, she will take calls after hours and do an online consultation. I recently had covid and my status deteriorated quickly in the evening. We did a video consult and she immediately prescribed medication that I was able get from the pharmacy the same evening. This helped me tremendously to overcome the virus. Similarly, a few months ago I hurt my back and suffered from a herniated disk. The pain was so unbearable that I could not move. My wife called Dr Ling and we did a video consult with me lying on the floor! Dr Ling immediately prescribed pain killers that relieved the pain. She also prescribed an MRI and provided the name of an outstanding orthopedic surgeon who helped me recover. Dr Ling also surrounds herself with very good people. Her front desk staff is very professional and helpful when it comes to scheduling appointments and sending lab/imaging results. Dr. Jie Ling is highly recommended. I have relocated for work and have had several doctors over the years. I chose Dr. Ling based on reviews from my friends (among the thousands of primary care doctors) and it was a great choice. First off the desk staff is so nice, so from the first point on we had a great experience. Our wait time was very minimal and the whole process was speedy and smooth. Dr. Ling is very attentive and answered our questions. She didn't seem rushed and seemed interested and concerned with everything that I brought up. She has the gift of medical intuition that is very important to quickly understand and diagnose what may be going on--whether complex or simple. She is very consultative and educates you about what is going on and lays out the options for treatment. I have recommended several people to his office and they agree with the level of professional expertise, professionalism of Dr. Ling and her staff, and the effectiveness at treating a variety of common or complex illnesses. I have been Dr. Jie Ling's patient since 2017. Dr. Ling is one of the best doctors I have had in 50 years. She is very kind, and knowledgeable, a proactive listener, and always answers my questions and concerns in detail. In 2022 I was infected COVID-19 three times. She was there for me. Sometimes she called me back around 10:00 pm to follow up to make sure I got the medicines and I was ok. Her office staff are also very friendly and kind. They greet me with smiles, call me in advance to confirm the appointment, coordinate with the specialists, and pass my questions to Dr. when she is not available. One time my lab result was sent to the Office, and when they found my blood sugar level and blood pressure were getting much better, one of her staff called me and told me the good news. Avoid Dr. Ling: We regret choosing Dr. Ling as our primary physician. Despite advertising fluency in Chinese, Dr. Ling consistently refused to communicate in Chinese with my mother, who has limited English proficiency. This persistent language barrier led to significant miscommunication and misunderstandings over five years. Today, the situation escalated. Dr. Ling abruptly informed my mother that she would no longer be her patient due to a cough and suggested video appointments for chest and breathing issues. This decision, coupled with the ongoing language barrier, raises serious concerns about the quality of care and patient well-being. Needless to say we are seeking a new primary care physician for my mother. Given the recent experience with Dr. Ling, we urge future patients to carefully consider their language needs when selecting a provider. read more

I have seen Dr. Ling for about 2 years. My previous family doctor prescribed medication for my hypertension problem. After examining my medical history, Dr. Ling changed the medication to another one with better kidney protection. Dr. Ling explained to me thoroughly the reason for change and the underlying mechanism of the new medication. I feel that I know more and more about my health, and also the medication I am taking. For my stomach reflux problem, Dr. Ling switched the medication I used before to another medication with same effect but considerablely low out-of-pocket price. Again Dr. Ling explained very well to me regarding the change. Dr. Ling is professional and very knowledgeable. I recently had an experience at this medical office that left me quite frustrated. While the healthcare providers seem competent, the office staff really needs better training. Every year, I receive a reminder call after my exam due date, which is incredibly unhelpful and causes unnecessary delays in my healthcare routine. It would make much more sense for them to reach out before the due date to help me stay on track. When I tried to provide this feedback to the front desk staff, I felt dismissed and met with resistance instead of understanding.
