I am a 76 year old woman with a severe bowel problem, I need our van because I use a porta potty to…read moretravel anywhere. Our problem with our van started April 28 when the engine light came on & it was idling really bad, almost stalling. My husband took it to Direct Muffler & they put the code reader on & it did show misfiring on #6 cylinder. Direct technician shut the check engine light off & told us to keep on driving it. Problem kept on getting worse. July 17 we had an appointment at 10 am to fix the problem. Direct called & said to my husband, since it is open does he want the spark plugs changed & he said Ok to do it. Direct called & told us the problem was fixed to come & get the van. He started to come home & the van was misfiring worse than before. He took the van back to Direct immediately, Direct was closing,, Derek Sproul came out & told him to take it back Monday July 20th, which we did. July 22 My husband went to Direct to find out the problem & was told it hasn't been looked at yet. We stopped in many times to find out the progress & again we were told they haven't worked on it at all, saying they were very busy. We were told the mechanic that worked on it would call us back at 3 pm. No call from him at all. So my husband called Direct & was told to come & get the van, they had no time & short staffed. August 5 We both went in to pick up our vehicle & I confronted Willy De Wit. I advised Mr. De Wit that they had our vehicle since July 17 & now it is August 5 & they haven't worked on it. I had to reschedule my Ottawa specialists & they never worked on it. Why didn't they let us know & we would have taken it somewhere else. This was very fishy. August 11, we took the van to another mechanic to find out what they did or did not do & found out the Direct mechanic over tightened the nut holding the # 6 cylinder ignition coil . August 18 took the van to Riverside Dodge Chrysler dealership. They confirmed the check engine light was on showing a misfire on # 6 cylinder, they confirmed an engine misfire was present at idle. Diagnosis from the dealership: Engine light comes on, had plugs replaced at Direct& they stripped the bolt on ignition coil. We were charged $ 630.00 at Direct & they did not fix the problem & the Direct mechanic stripped the bolt on the ignition coil. This was confirmed by the dealership. We would like our $630.00 returned to us for pain, suffering & inconvenience caused by your lack of caring. Needless to say you fixed nothing & charged us for your mechanic's lack of expertise. We are seniors on a pension & were taken advantage of. Shame on you. This doesn't stop here. Fran & Don
