I recently left a great review the day of my service thanking a wonderful employee (the change of review has absolutely nothing to do with the mechanic, Dennis, who helped me) I came to jiffy lube for an oil change and for them to take a look at a leaking radiator hose (it was just a drip at this point) The manager recommended a bunch of services I didn't actually need, which was somewhat expected from a chain mechanic place with out of state plates (moved to NY last year). An engine flush was recommended and I accepted. In total I received an oil change, and an engine flush totaling $182. I had extra wiggle room in my budget and decided that it was worth it to keep my car running nicely and prepare it for the cold. What was NOT expected was the catastrophic morning that followed. I filled my reservoir with coolant (close to 1 gallon) just before heading into jiffy lube and by the evening OF THE SAME DAY the entire reservoir of coolant had leaked out of my car onto the pavement. I figured ok the leak was worse than I thought (despite them telling me as long as I kept an eye on it I'd be okay) My car was pouring out coolant whenever I tried to add more. I made an appointment at a different mechanic and figured I'd have the hose replaced later this week. I thought my car could last two days until I had a free afternoon, I was wrong. When I attempted to drive the vehicle to class this morning it instantly overheated and refused to idle without stalling or even turn over. I was stranded on the side of the southern state trying to get a tow. What happened between me giving jiffy lube my keys, and getting them back was a mystery, but what I do know is that my car is in a lot worse of shape. I'm now going to a family owned mechanic to try and undo the damage that the deer park jiffy lube has done. STAY AWAY read more

I would've given NO stars. Sat on line for 40 minutes and then they take the LAST car that arrived and didn't even come out and offer an explanation. An attendant came out AFTER we got out of the car, we asked for an explanation, and got nothing. He shrugged and then continued to walk away and LAUGH. We'll continue to complain to corporate. DO NOT COME HERE. They do not know what they are doing at all it the slightest bit. I asked for Synthetic oil they gave me regular. My car has 100k+ miles. When i got the sticker i asked why is it only 3k i ask for synthetic. The manager apologies stated it was an error and gave me a new sticker but the physical receipt they gave me stated it would only last 3k miles so i kept both sticker just in case. I went to check my oil yesterday since i pass the 3k mark and i had NOTHING if i would of road my car until the miles they told me guarantee my engine would of blew up. I would stay away from this place and jiffy lube in general. Go to Meineke in Lindenhurst, much better place in my opinion. I went here last year in October to get an oil change. They recommended an oil change and I wanted to change my air filter. The air filter was no problem, that came out fine. The oil change was okay too. They did not perform the vacuuming or washed windows like they state, and did not give me a sticker when my next oil change was, but that would have earned them a 2 star rating. $100 for an oil change, an air filter and tire rotation is expensive. $40 for an oil change is ridiculous period. They recommended a tire rotation, which cost 25 bucks. I should have said no, but they offered a discount on the oil change, so I decided why not. It is just a simple rotation. Well, that was in october. I have not rotated my tires because it is not worth 25 bucks and I trusted jiffy lube at the time. So, I just got an oil change today at meineke. I like to observe, and I noticed the mechanic looked funny at my left rear view tire when he took off the tire. He called me over, and to my surprise two studs from my tire were warped and distorted. Knowing what I know about cars, I remember the kid Martinez taking a long time to do my rotation and I even remember he was working extra hard on one tire. I am 100% sure that kid damaged those studs and no one said anything. Jiffy lube cost me 12 dollars in replacement studs, so I filed a complaint to the company and I am never going back there or any other jiffy lube. I would recommend anyone else to stay away unless they fired the entire staff and hired new people. It is a bunch of young guys there, and my experience was not good. If you want a surprise later on, use them and get ripped off and spend money in fixing their errors. Then, let them deny they did anything. read more

This place is only good for the quick oil change. I do keep going just because of the convenience of pulling in and out in 15 min. Every time I go here they try selling me on things I know I don't need and its very annoying. The people are ok but keep pushing products and services on you. If you want a quick oil change its fine but if you want personal service and not feel forced to buy things then go somewhere else. read more

Great experience. Pulled up and was greeted right away with a helpful knowledgeable staff. Came in for an oil change and instead of finding out that they did way more than I asked without my consent or knowledge, they consulted me and informed me of all the manufacturer recommended mileage service options. Staff was very transparent with the services rendered and did it in a timely manner as well. do not take you car here. 5 guys for 1/2 a oil change, 2014 Audi A4, the jiffylube "mechanics" broke the oil filter and didn't even realize the part of it was still threaded in my car and told me they dint have this "style" filter and to bring it to Audi, I had to get a pair of neddle nose but a oil filter and get the broken filter peice unthread and put the new filter in my self. read more

So I have been using this jiffy lube for well over two years now on both of my cars. I get a full synthetic oil changes which is supposed to last up to 10,000 miles. I took my car in September and had another 5k mikes to go on this oil change. I had my car inspected at my mechanic and he showed me the oil. He said there is zero chance jiffy lube changed my oil and what they did was keep the oil most likely from the previous oil change and just charged me for a new one and did nothing. I will never go back to this place again and I urge you to not use them. read more

This place is the worst. Workers at this location are only interested in making side money. Offered me work my truck didn't need and then told me if I did it today they would do it for half price of I paid cash. I tried to go three times this week and on the first 2 attempts there was one car in a bay and no one waiting outside and I was told there was a 1.5 to 2 hour wait. Stay away. I am totally disgusted with this place. After my oil change was complete, I go to get into my vehicle and there was oil splattered everywhere. When I asked where the kid was that changed my oil, suddenly he wasn't available and I could see him hiding down below where they do their work beneath the vehicles. Then when I told the manager what happened, he continued to make excuses for the worker. He proceeded to send out another worker to clean my truck. this place sucks!! i brought my car in today to get an oil change and asked them to check one of my tires. waited 10 minutes in the waiting area, the guys walked in and out of there multiple times and nobody asked me what services i needed done. then i see the manager walk over to my car and just opening it and checking my information. i walk out there and he asked me if i needed an oil change and told him yes. then i asked him about my tire if he could check it, EVEN THOUGH ITS PLASTERED ALL OVER THE BUILDING THAT THEY DO TIRE CHECKS, he told me they dont check tires and said he would put some air in it. okay whatever. he walks away and bring my car into the bay and he never said a word to me until 15-20 minutes later when they finished. he tells me its almost $110!!!! im not car savvy and i know part of it is my fault for not telling them what kind of oil i wanted, but again i dont know these things. so i go over and pay and just get the fuck out of there. Very good service! They always recommend things beyond what you came in for mainly to ensure your safety! I use this for my fleet vehicles at work as well as personal vehicles. Never had an issue. Kenny is a good guy and always greets customers as if he's known them forever. read more

Took an hour and a half. There was no order for who came first. Two people who came after me left way before me. Seriously waste of time.

Worst place to go. I pulled in and it was over 30min before they even took my truck in. Finally they got my truck in and right away pulled out my air filter. Then 15 later they started my oil change. The guy sprayed my truck with oil as he went to go and fill my engine waited till I noticed that he sprayed oil everywhere and then cleaned it off. Another 15 min goes by and then they finished up. Remember they took out my air filter? Well they shut my hood without even putting it back! I had to remind them to put it back. Horrible experience! Don't go here!! read more

UPDATE 4/15/14: Upgrade to 3 Stars After several weeks of haggling, the insurance division of Jiffy Lube, Heartland / Jiffy World, agreed to replace my engine with a new one. The Chevy dealer I went to told them the cost to break down the engine just to inspect the damage would be $1,200 and the cost of repairs would be in addition to that and there was no guarantee that the engine could even be repaired. Jiffy Lube offered to pay for a rebuilt engine which the Chevy dealer said they could not warranty and could result in requiring a second engine replacement. So after 5-1/2 weeks Jiffy Lube relented and paid for a new engine replacement. Once that hurdle was passed everything went smoothly. The dealership ordered my engine without waiting for payment because they knew I'd been waiting a month and a half already. But they received the check in the mail just 2 days later. Once I got my car back I spoke to the insurance claims person at Jiffy Lube and she had my rental car reimbursement approved for payment the very next day although I'm currently waiting for the check to arrive but it's only been 4 business days. ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 3/11/14: I'll call this a review in progress. I've been going to this Jiffy Lube since I moved to the area back in 1999 and for the most part no problems. Like some other people have said out here they do try to upsell you on other services that tack a lot of money onto the basic cost of an oil change. You do need to understand cars to know what you may actually need and what service might just be BS. Went there for an oil change on Jan 19th. One month later my car's engine is making funny noises, a knocking/tapping sound when I use the accelerator. Unfortunately it was a Saturday evening so had to wait until Monday to bring my car in & spent the weekend close to home so I wouldn't need to drive much. So I took my car in to the Chevy dealer where I got the car because they can provide a loaner car for free when they have one available. But since I didn't make an appointment in advance they didn't have any available that Monday & got a rental instead so I could get to work that day. The technician calls me that afternoon and the first thing he asks me when was the last time I had my oil changed. So I told him it was just a few weeks ago. He tells me that my oil level was really low and that there are metal particles in the oil itself. The computer diagnostic error message is indicating "internal engine failure". Then he says that the oil filter was loose and that that's where the oil had leaked out. Surprise, surprise. Oil filters don't just come loose ... it wasn't installed correctly so I had a slow leak for 4 weeks. That was Feb 24th. Today it's March 11th and I still don't have my car back. I was going to authorize Chevy to start work on the car but the rep in the service dept. said that they will probably want to send a claims adjuster to inspect the vehicle themselves. I contacted the Jiffy Lube shop to tell them what happened on Feb 25th and the manager told me he needed a written estimate to file as damage claim with the corporate office. The next day I sent the written report from Chevy detailing what they found. The claims department left a message on my home phone on Friday so I didn't get through to them until the following Tuesday Mar 4th. They told me an inspector would be sent out to the Chevy dealer. The following day the Chevy service rep called me to say the inspector had scheduled a visit for the next day, Thursday. Checked with Chevy on Friday and they said they still hadn't seen or heard anything from the inspector again. Tried contacting the corporate claims office again on Monday to expedite getting my car inspected so repairs could begin. No response. Finally get a call from Chevy late Monday to tell me the inspector finally showed up. Now I still have to wait to see what they will agree to pay to repair my car. An engine replacement will cost $6,000. To repair it the mechanic will need to dismantle the engine to see what's going on inside. That alone would cost $1,200 and there's no guarantee that it can be repaired. If it can be fixed the total cost could end up being more than a new engine. Meanwhile I'm stuck in limbo. So here it is 2 weeks later and I still don't know what's going on and I'm driving a rental car that I'm paying for out-of-pocket that will hopefully be reimbursed by Jiffy Lube. To be fair the claims rep from Jiffy Lube did tell me that they could provide a rental for roughly $35 to $40 per day through Enterprise. I told her that I got a discount rental from Hertz through the Chevy dealer for $45 a day, just a few dollars more. Since switching cars would mean taking off more time from work I told her I would just keep the car I had from Hertz and put in a claim for reimbursement when I got the final bill after I return the rental. I went to Avis lube in Farmingdale, and they were so rude to me. They pretty much made fun of me for being a female who doesn't know about their car. They were making comments when I told them I couldn't get the extras because my Dad was paying about " how nice that must be". I went to Jiffy lube for my next oil change and all of the guys were knowledgeable, and friendly. When they offered add on sales and I explained why for no, they did not push in a uncomfortable manner. They were very helpful, and quick. I was in and out in 15 minutes. They are awful! Right off the bat their quoted oil change price of $43.95 (or so) is on the high end, even before you subsequently find out that this oil change price doesn't actually include any oil! My perception is that they clearly play games and trick you into overpaying in a manner that insulted my intelligence. What I mean by this is that when I pulled up and asked, they told me an oil change was $43.95 or something like that. Once I pulled in and my vehicle was hooked up to the machines they called me over to a computer they have in the work area (as opposed to the computer they have in the waiting room where they actually process your payment at the end) whereby they asked me what oil I want to use, which was naturally above and beyond the $43.95 that I naturally assumed would include oil, and of course they tried to sell me on the most expensive brand. Then they tried to sell me on a bunch of other extremely easy tasks at very high prices (i.e. coolant fluid, air filter, etc). When I asked them about the status of my current air filter (that they guy went so far as to remove from my vehicle!) it was clear the guy didn't actually have knowledge in this department and was simply trying to sell me on allowing them to install an easily accessible new one for an overpriced amount. I only stopped by there out of convenience because I was in the neighborhood and had a window of time available at the time but I will never go back to Jiffy Lube. I would rather spend the extra time to coordinate my oil changes with my regular mechanic or someone that I believe would treat me more like a human being and less like an obvious mark. read more
