Jiffy Lube has a reputation for scamming people, and unfortunately, that reputation is well-earned. You always think, "that won't happen to me," but it absolutely did today. Again. After years of staying away, I decided to give them another chance -- thinking maybe things had changed. Instead, I was scammed in two ways. I was charged for an antifreeze top-off that was never done. When I got home, the coolant reservoir was completely empty. I was also supposed to have my service reminder light reset, as clearly listed on my invoice, but it wasn't done. When I asked, I was told "we don't do that here." I believe in giving people an opportunity to fix a problem as they can't fix it if they don't know about it. So, I communicated with Manager Terry -- rude, dismissive, and acting like she couldn't care less. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe that's just her personality. Either way, there's no excuse for treating customers that way. This review isn't about getting a call or an apology -- it's about accountability. Customers deserve honesty and basic service for what they pay for. I cannot recommend this location unless you're okay with being charged for services and products you never receive. I encourage this business to do right by your customers the first time and to do the right thing the first time -- that's it, that's all. Simple. Honest. This way you don't have to apologize after the fact. read more

Took my car in for an oil change. They forgot to put the clips that hold the skid plate up back on. So the skid plate feel down and scraped on the road enough to curl the end on one side. I've had to take it back and have them up it back up and put the clips back on. This is the second time this has happened. And I'll have to think about coming back or have them check to make sure the clips or on. read more

I just recently moved to Lake Jackson and the first time I purchased an oil change from Jiffy Lube I said I would definitely return. Well, trying to save a dollar, I found a coupon for Midas - just let me say thee biggest mistake EVER. I collected my keys from Midas and drove directly to Jiffy Lube and was in and out within 15 minutes. The technician was polite and understanding of my previous experience and offered me a coupon, yes it was a little more, but you cannot put a price on customer service, quality and just good-hearted people. When I pulled up, the oil change was quoted at $189. I asked for a possible discount. Colby said he could reduce it to $130.00. I asked if he could throw in windshield wiper blades since that prices is still too high and he said yes. After the service, the manager, Terri, asked for payment. I asked her about the wiper blades as she became defensive and said blades were extra fee. I said Colby said he would provide them, please ask him to come out here and she said no. She stated that she was the manager and wipers are an extra fee. I feel like I was lied to and had a bait and switch done on me. Obviously, Colby must have quoted wrong but hiding inside and letting manager become argumentative is not the way to retain customers. read more

1. By definition jiffy means quick, fast, or an instant. Nothing about the Lake Jackson Jiffy Lube is "a jiffy", actually it's the longest oil change I have ever had. 2. I had my state inspection performed. What a joke!! Initially they seemed thorough, but then it became painstaking obvious that they are clueless. "I don't think you have the right tires on your vehicle because the light it on". I shouldn't be surprised that it failed inspection because the factory window tint is "too dark". If Josue is on duty you better turn around and go somewhere else- he's a clown. I do understand that the tint law has changed BUT don't be a douche and nonchalantly bring it up when I'm paying. The tech communicated on every detail but the alleged fail. Hey word to the wise - this technique doesn't work in a real job. Get a clue buddy. read more

They are quick and attentive. The only down fall is their waiting area is hot and the fan doesn't blow enough air circulation. I had to keep taking my son to the bathroom to wet his hair and face to keep him cool. They do provide free cold water though which is a plus! Overall not bad. read more

My truck was way past due for an oil change as I'd been out of town on a ski trip and then traveled to south Texas for work. This location was near a client site so I decided to have my oil changed there before heading back to Dallas. I was greeted by an attendant who informed me their basic oil change service was $50 which included the oil change, topping off fluids, etc. In fairness, I haven't had any issues since the oil change (I've had shops forget to put the radiator cap back on, etc). However, the "$50" oil change ended up being almost double that. After they get your vehicle in they call you to the counter to up sell the service. They'll tell you what the manufacturer recommends and try to get you to agree to more work. In my case, to get the OEM oil which is a semi-synthetic there was an up charge. I also decided to get an air filter which would cost $6 at the parts store but they charged over $20 for. So between the $20 filter and the oil up charge my total was over $100. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because they did a good job but their pricing is crazy. The same oil change at my local place in Dallas is $65. If I want to make the trek to the dealership where I got the truck I think my cost is only $30 - $35 for an oil change. Not to mention that the cost of my OEM oil vs conventional oil is the same price retail so there is no reason for them to be charging you more. On the air filter, I'm sure they put in the same $6-12 filter I could get at a parts store but charged over 50% markup on it. read more

We have had the most horrible experience with this location. My 19 year old daughter took her car in for an oil change. Within a few days the car was smoking badly from under the hood. When Jiffy lube got it back they said the filter gasket was faulty and supposedly corrected the problem at no charge, accepting responsibility. The very next day, the car began smoking again and making a horrible noise. She called jiffy lube and they said they couldn't come to her because she was to far away and saying she could have it towed, at her expense. We arranged for the car to be towed to a Ford dealership. The dealership has said there was no oil in the engine and the car now needs a new engine. It's now been 2 weeks. Ford has been very clear the problem was due to lack of oil. The management is unhelpful to say the least. The bottom line, the car drove fine until jiffy lube touched it. They serviced it 2 times less than a week and now the car needs a new motor. Don't take your car to them if you want it to keep running. read more

Just got an oil change and they spilled oil all over the exhaust and didn't wash it off. They let us drive off with the oil burning so badly that it started going inside the car making us cough and not letting us see from all the fog. We had to pull over and when we checked the oil was everywhere even on the bottom of the car. We called them to come check because we were afraid to move the car and they said that shouldn't have happened that they should have cleaned it. This is very dangerous. I don't know how someone allows this to happen. They clearly don't know what they are doing. This could have led to something more serious. Have had issues the previous visit but believed it could have been a simple mistake. After today I feel otherwise and will not be coming back. Also, the person responsible for the mess claimed they did clean it before letting us drive off and was very unprofessional. read more

If I could give a zero stars I would. All I needed was a state inspection. I was told I could wait in my vehicle and it would only be 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes not only did they forget about me but they were taking vehicles ahead of me. I tried to give them another chance as I had problems with them during covid of not just doing the inspection where I could stay in my car and they could just do the outside things like ALL the other places doing inspections in the area. I will not be back. This is why they have to send out coupons because they are not consumer friendly. read more

I have been going to Jiffy Lube ever since I owned a car. I went to this jiffy lube for a routine oil change. After 4,000 miles I changed the oil myself and learned that this Jiffy Lube put 4 quarts of oil in my truck when my truck required 6 quarts. Looking at my receipt they had charged me for 6 quarts. In addition, they put an oil filter on my truck not recommended for my truck, which is a Ford, but instead for GM Trucks. When I filed a complaint about this, I spoke with the district manager and after 30 minutes of arguing, all he did was give me a check for the 2 quarts of oil that was missing. I have experienced better service from Jiffy Lube in the past, but it is safe to say with management like this I will never use a Jiffy Lube again. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this service I not real familiar with lake Jackson but I found a Groupon for $27.99 and when I got to the location I told them I needed a oil change and that I had purchased a Groupon which they told me was fine I leave to eat with my kids and they call saying it was going to be $100 which made absolutely no sense when I told them I had purchased the Groupon if I planned on paying more I would've never got the Groupon. Once I got back another woman came in upset for the same exact reason the only good thing out of it was we all got upset and they ended up giving us the service for what we paid on groupon. Other than that I still wouldn't recommend this place it's too much of a hassle and the employees are rude it's their job to provide good customer service and be more detailed and explain before they even do the service. read more

Dropped my car off for an oil change and inspection.. came back an hour later, paid almost $140 (for an oil change & inspection?!) .. went to leave and they had apparently forgotten to do the inspection (which no one acknowledged or gave the obligatory "sorry for the inconvenience" for). Waited another 25 mins or so while they did the inspection, which they failed. I asked for a general idea of what caused it to fail and he said he didn't know and to take it to a mechanic. The woman who helped inside was friendly & polite enough but.. overall a pretty bad experience. read more
