I was on a long road trip with a friend. Our oil light came on, and we had driven over 3000 miles on this trip alone, so we stopped in this Jiffy Lube on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh. When they were changing the oil the guy came out and said our brake pads were worn and should be replaced. We were driving my friends sisters car, so we tried to get in touch with her to consult her. While we were waiting to hear from her the advisor came out again to give us the proposed costs. He told us Jiffy Lube does not replace the pads, we would have to purchase an entire system, including rotors. We argued with him, saying 'why can't you just replace the pads?' He repeated, ' jiffy Lube doesn't do that, we replace the whole system.' This was going to cost us $575 We went 2 doors down to Monro Muffler Brake. The guy there checked our brakes and said there was nothing wrong with them, and charged us nothing. Later we heard back from my friend's sister that she had just recently had her brakes redone. We drove the entire way home with no brake problems. Shame on this Jiffy Lube for trying to take advantage of 2 women traveling alone, far from home. If I could give zero stars I would . I came in for an oil change (my first with this car) and they couldn't even do that... they couldn't get the oil filter off so they just punctures a whole in it, shut the hood, put a sticker on my window and said I was good to go. It cost more than at the dealership too. Five minutes later my car was smoking because there was oil spewed all over my engine and the whole hood. I got towed to the dealership the next morning and was told that they couldn't have change my oil , because the can shown below was still on my car, and no oil change store ever used the Subaru oil filter. I was told I'd get a refund for oil change and my detailing of hood by the regional manager however it's been a few hours and I still haven't heard from the customer service rep that was supposed to call me. BROKE MY CAR. I went to them for my last oil change, when I was due for a new one I decided to try WalMart's auto center and was told the oil filter was on too tight for them to remove. I tried going to another Jiffy Lube location and THEY said they couldn't remove the oil drain plug. So these idiots wrecked my car and now I can't get an oil change without dropping money at a mechanic's shop. He doesn't tell me he doesn't have the oil filter in stock and quietly sends someone out for one. I finally asked him to put the old filter back in and let me go. I was absolutely disappointed with my service here and I will probably never return. The oil prices are way out of sight. They advertised that they would vacuum the floors and they weren't vacuumed. They broke my tps sensors on my tires when they adjusted the air. They also "Reved" up my car right after filling it with oil before the oil could settle, causing engine wear. Wow! This place is incredibly terrible. So, last week I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. I had a 50% off coupon from another Jiffy Lube (Cranberry). I asked ahead of time (Cranberry) to make sure they still accepted the coupon, he said that they change colors, but the codes are always the same, so they don't really expire. Great, right...Nope. I go to this Jiffy Lube (McKnight). First, they take my car and start the oil change (just the exterior stuff) before anyone talks to me. Then, they accuse me of making the coupon, or copying it, or something saying that they don't come in green. Then, he claims it is expired! (There is no expiration date ANYWHERE on the coupon, I checked before driving all the way there. So, after arguing with the guy, I decide I want my car back. He goes and gets the manager (all the while they are still doing stuff to my car). I tell the manager I want my car back. He goes back out and talks to the first guy again, and one of the mechanics comes in the office, grabs another 50% off coupon and says, "just give her this." Manager comes back and says, "the best we can do is 25% off, that's a pretty good deal." At this point I am thinking that they are probably going to use the 50% off coupon and pocket the difference, but who knows really? I again tell them I want my car back. He says something about them already starting. I say I don't care, I want my car back. After some additional arguing, they finally give me my car. Then the manager comes and stands at my window while I am calling my mom. So, I'm like, yes? He proceeds to tell be again that 25% is a good deal, and blocks my way forward out of the parking lot. At this point I did 2 things, 1. checked to make sure that my pepper spray was in the compartment in my door and 2. asked for his name. So, Alex, if you are out there, you are a jerk. You used your position to try to intimidate me into getting an oil change I didn't want, really, why? who does that? LADIES, for your own safety (just my opinion, but I didn't feel safe) do not go to this Jiffy Lube. P.S. Went to the Jiffy Lube in Sewickley today. Had no issues, got 50% off no questions asked. I cannot say nice enough things about this place. I've consistently been treated well at jiffy lube franchises in this state and others, but this location is phenomenal. I've always been greeted in a super speedy manner and with a smile. That sounds dorky, but when you dread routine errands like getting your oil changed, it's nice to not have to hate this errand quite so much. I've come here a few times to have my oil changed, even my tires rotated and they can put on wiper blades at comparable prices to chain auto parts store! Saves me a trip! The staff is always so, so nice and polite. And willing to help. They've sat and watched me price check other things against competitors before I made a decision. All while being so cool to work with. I'm 34, I've gotten my oil changed since I was 16 in like a million places. Heck my partner can change my oil if I want him to. Nothing compares to how easy, price-amiable, and smooth this location runs. It's came in the other day to just have a simple oil change, needed up with a really cheap tire rotation, they didn't haggle me on upselling a million things I didn't need, and the staff both in the garage and at the desk were so nice. I hate that I have to point that out but at this time of year it's welcome. I'm a jiffy lube girl forever! read more

This is the first and last time I will be giving this place my business. All I wanted was a simple oil change and what I got was horrible service from the beginning. What really upset and ruined this experience was the young woman at the desk. She didn't greet me, she just said take a seat we will come get you. Ok I'm fine with that, but when I notice they have my cars hood up and they are working on my car I walk up and ask, I mean attempt to ask if I needed to tell them what to put in my car as I wanted synthetic. After I got two words out she raised her voice and said we will come get you when we are ready like she was a teacher scolding a child. - Update - once I was called up she was much nicer so I bumped up to two stars. Unfortunately the damage has been done. In the future just let me know you will be running tests and checking fluids and that you will be with me afterwards. read more

Would love to give negative stars if possible. My car is older and when it develops a knock it is essential to get an oil change asap. This is important to prevent damage to the engine. All of this is on advice of a very reputable mechanic. I was refused service at Jiffy lube, even after I explained the chronic condition. He did not care if I broke down or damaged my car engine by continuing to drive. In reaching out to Jiffy Lube customer service, all they were concerned with was potential liability if I decided to blame them .Sad that they do not care at all about the customer or their vehicle. Their competitor was able to understand my problem, perform the oil change, and now my car is running great again. They will say that you have to get the full synthetic and what your vehicle requires it, when your owners manual says otherwise. They are overpriced for their service. This was by far the worst place ever I went for a oil change and tire rotation with a coupon for $38 it cost me $55 the added more oil that I wasn't aware that I needed that much of oil and when it came to tire rotation they were ready to hand me my car back and I said they didn't rotate the car tires and they said they couldn't get a lugnut off but they still charged me $20 for my tires to be rotated and said it wasn't their fault and they weren't even going to tell me , I just happened to be watching at that time also they sprayed my windows with rain X and now my windows are all smeared so I'm going on a road trip with smeared windows in my tires not rotated thank you Jiffy Lube read more

The price of an oil change at this place is double the price where you can get an oil change anywhere else. This is supposed to be a quick in and out place they had my vehicle for over an hour. They checked off that they filled all fluids and vacuumed my floor, they did nothing on the checked list. My vehicle did not really need cleaned but they still checked they did it and didn't, I was just there in at the end of September and I just had to fill my engine coolant yesterday, I don't even drive my vehicle often so if they filled that it should not have been low. First off, I hate to be "this person." But I am doing this for two reasons: this is a very shady business and I want to save anyone else from experiencing what I did. I took my car to get the oil changed March 23, 2015. At first, everything was great. I pulled up, they took my keys, got to work on my car, charged me for the work and I was on my way in around 15 minutes. One morning, a week and a half later, my car would start, but would not turn over. After troubleshooting and crossing possible issues off the list, we discovered there was absolutely NO oil in my car. We pulled the dip stick three different times and it was completely bone dry, My car was never leaking any fluids and no lights came on, so I was driving on the leftover sludge in my engine (I have a 2004 Oldsmobile). I had called them, told them the story, and they offered to come to my house and look at my car, give me oil, and some free oil changes for the future to help compensate. Two gentlemen came over, I already had the hood popped, and WITHOUT checking the dip stick, they added two quarts of oil to the car. It hadn't occurred to me at that minute because I was too busy watching both of them play around inside the engine, that the one guy said, "I'm just going to add the entire thing" and the other one responded, "No, just start with two because we're not sure how much is missing." If they had wanted to be thorough, they would have pulled the stick and also noted that it was dry. Back to them adding the oil... They did that, played with some fuses, and then went to the stick (for the first time) and said, "Oh, there's oil in there. This isn't our responsibility." They were nice guys, said they would give me some free oil change coupons, and they mentioned they were going to drive to somewhere in Sewickley to get a diagnostic computer and said they'd be in touch, but never called or came back. After allowing the car sit overnight, it started and turned over the next morning, but not wanting to run 100%. So I let it sit for another day, and it turned on just fine after that amount of time had passed. We added two more quarts of oil ourselves to be safe. I took it to a mechanic that I was referred to by a good friend, and he said that even though the car runs now, they could have definitely ruined something in the long run and it might not even show up for a few months. In addition to that, he noted that there were four quarts of oil in the car... so the two that they added when they came to "fix" it, and the two that we added ourselves. So, instead of making me a "happy customer" and using the insurance that they are supposed to have for situations like this and offer to help cover any damage costs that will arise from driving a car with no oil, they protected their own asses and refused to admit fault. Looking back on it now, I should have taken picture or video evidence to prove that they had not added a drop of oil back into the engine after draining the old oil and charged me over $70 for basically nothing. So, for now, hopefully this helps some of you out there. If you do choose to take your car here, CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY ACTUALLY PUT OIL BACK IN YOUR CAR! Don't end up like me and be worried from here on out that you'll somehow need to get your hands on a new car, but you're not sure when the engine will go out of commission permanently, all because these guys did not do the job that you trusted and paid them for read more

Needed snow tires changed for regular ones I had & a brake check. Everywhere else in the area would've taken 1 week+ for an appointment. Walked in and done in 20 minutes with no appointment. Originally said it shouldn't cost anything then they charged me $20 for a rotation (which they did) but I didn't expect to have it done for free anyways. Prices for other services were high (oil change $45) but if they're low on customers and you want it done fast this is the place to go. No appointment system available, just walk-ins. read more
