I can't begin to describe what a wonderful wedding photographer Jill is! She shot both our engagement shoot and our wedding and her photos are truly amazing! We met with a few different photographers when we began planning our wedding, but right after we met Jill, we knew our search was over. She is so personable and easy to work with, and after our initial meeting, we knew her personality and style would mesh really well with ours and, of course, there was also her great body of work which speaks for itself! Our experience was off to a great start and got even better when we did our engagement session. Jill does such an awesome job of making you feel comfortable while she's taking your photos, getting to know you better and guiding you and your significant other through the process seamlessly. Not only did she make it really fun for us, but the pictures turned out so great, it was really difficult to narrow down our favorites when it came time to send out our save-the-dates! With such great engagement pictures, we couldn't have been more excited to see what was to come from the wedding photos! Leading up to the big day, Jill was super organized and a great communicator. She works with you to put together an extremely detailed schedule/timeline for the day of (who, what, where, when) so you don't have to worry about anything on your wedding day. It made everything go so smoothly for us, no bride or groom wants to be stressed about those details on the day of their wedding. When it came to the actual photos themselves, they couldn't be more GORGEOUS!! Jill beautifully captured every aspect of our wedding from beginning to end and everything in between - the ceremony, venue and décor, guests and reception. Our photos were beyond beautiful, so naturally composed and full of emotion. I love how Jill was able to capture not only the love and emotion between myself and my husband, but the also the sentiment was exuded by our wedding party and felt by our guests. Wow. I can't say enough good things about Jill from start to finish. IF YOU ARE A BRIDE OR GROOM LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER...CHOOSE JILL. My husband and I were just married in August and we knew photography was one area we wanted to invest in. After all, photos are some of the only pieces of evidence you get to keep from your happy day. A friend recommended Jill to us after having Jill as a second photographer for their wedding day and loving her photographs. From the first meeting, Jill felt like a friend we had known forever. She is easy going, a great listener, warm and friendly. She made an effort to understand our tastes and style and to learn exactly what we wanted our photos to feel like. Her communication was always clear, professional and prompt which really helped when I felt bogged down by all of the pieces of planning. During our wedding day, Jill felt helped my husband and I feel completely at ease, giving simple directions and helping us get the shots we really wanted. She organized our large wedding party and families to keep things moving efficiently and to get us all back to the party! The day we returned from our honeymoon we had a gorgeous blog post with a sneak peek at our photos ready to welcome us back. She is giving Jimmy John's a run for their money because she was freaky fast and it really helped soften the blow of leaving paradise! And within weeks we had our final images. She captured the genuine emotions and beautiful moments of the day. These pictures are such a treasure to us. I can't count how many people have commented that our photos look like a magazine spread because of her talent and aesthetic eye. The worst part about hiring Jill is you will have a terrible time deciding which photos to choose for your wedding album because each one is sweeter than the last. Most "client" reviews for a wedding photographer come from the bride and groom...but this Mother of the Bride wants to speak up. In a word - BREATHTAKING! My daughter told me at age 5 that (after her hubby) her wedding photographer would be the most important person at her wedding...and that proved undeniably true! The photos we have from 7/17 are truly - breathtaking. Jill captured every moment, every detail, and every aspect of Molly & Brian's wedding better than we could have ever hoped. Early in the day I watched as she relieved stresses and actually relaxed us. She adeptly managed the large wedding party, chose stunning backdrops, and navigated the reception to catch every special moment (no small task - large reception and at Salvage One, a tricky space!). She anticipates good photos and commands ONLY that camera...taking care to keep her subjects completely at ease. She never interrupted "the moment" for a photo...she either documented it as it unfolded or helped create it for us. She surprised us all with the speedy delivery of the sneak peeks, followed within the week by the rest of her shots. I happened to be in class at the Apple store when her email came and I couldn't help but click the link. The first photo had me spontaneously in tears and it only got worse! In the end, thanks to my "teacher," a crowd had gathered to see "what was up with this lady" (!) and even complete strangers agreed that every single photo was a work of art. Jill has a keen eye, a wonderful demeanor, and photographic intuition - a truly invaluable combination - and she is just who you want to document your special moments. This review is a long time coming. I don't often take the time to write reviews on Yelp but feel compelled to because of how incredible Jill's work truly is. I first met Jill when she was the second shooter for my wedding. She expertly navigated capturing the getting ready photos of my husband and his groomsmen, bringing the perfect balance of urgency and laid back informality to make the morning comfortable for the boys while getting all the shots she knew we'd want. When our main wedding photographer moved to Seattle, anyone who asked me for a recommendation of a local photog got an earful about Jill's amazing work. Since then, two other great friends have used Jill for their engagement and wedding photos. They have loved her work as much as I have, so it's only natural that when a friend and I founded our own non-profit business a couple years ago, we hired Jill to take our headshots. Not only does she capture romantic wedding images with an artistic eye, she was able to help us create a professional brand with our playful but polished headshots. This fall, Jill will be the photographer at our organization's inaugural formal event. There is so much to be said for how personality and professionalism matters when it comes to choosing a photographer for your wedding or other events (and Jill is off the charts in all of these areas) but I personally believe the work product is the most important and that's what seals the deal. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jill. As a bride that OBSESSED over finding the perfect photographer, I can say I found that and more in Jill. A friend had given me the advice that it's not uncommon to spend more time with your photographer than your husband on your wedding day- so make sure it's someone you will have fun being around! As soon as I met Jill I knew she'd be a great addition to our wedding party, and that's honestly how I felt about her. She clicked with my bridesmaids, calmed nerves, and joined in on the dance party! Even the groomsmen commented that they had FUN taking pictures. Jill was assertive when she needed to be (there were over 25 people in the bridal party!) but always with a smile on her face. If you had asked me on my wedding night to rate Jill, I would have said a 5 out of 5. After receiving my FULL gallery (think 800+ photos) less than two weeks after my wedding, I'd give her a 10 of 5. In addition to great portraits, Jill captured the essence of our wedding- the laughing, the tears, and all the little details. She surpassed my wildest expectations and I continue to admire the photos (daily!). As the ultimate testament, after working with Jill and then seeing my photos, a bridesmaid contacted her the day my photos were released to book Jill for her upcoming wedding! I first came across Jill and her work as a bridesmaid. I loved her style and was obsessed with the results. As a bride, it was an easy decision to choose Jill as our photographer for our 5/7/16 wedding solely based on the quality of her work. I soon learned that her work ethic perfectly aligned with her BEAUTIFUL photos. Jill was nothing short of amazing -- professional, organized and tons of fun. Jill photographed my wedding on November 3rd, 2012. If you have visited Jill's blog and website, I think her work can speak for itself. She has a fabulous editorial style that captures more than the traditional compilations you might be used to. She has an eye for architecture and landscapes so the perspectives in her photos are interesting and beautiful. She was great at capturing the details some might skip over: flowers, rings, venue, food. After all of the work that goes into planning a wedding, it is nice to have a record of those things. She is very easy to work with and is good at giving the right amount of direction. If you want specific group photos (other than the wedding party and family), let her know; otherwise, you can trust she will capture the candid moments which really make a wedding special. On that note, Jill is very stealth and can be "in a moment" without being overtly directional/obvious like other photographers I've seen. We had a lot of fun working with Jill and would certainly recommend her to anyone. Jill is by far the best photographer we know! She captured every precious, fun, heart-felt, and candid moment. When we met with her and discussed what we wanted she created a plan and timeline on how to execute it. She nailed it. My family and friends loved working with her and even were impressed by how professional but kind and personable she was throughout the day. Anyone that's been part of a wedding can tell you how hectic the day can get and unexpected surprises can creep up. But throughout the process Jill remained flexible and patient with not only us but also our bridal party and family. After the wedding I slightly regretted not having a videographer and thought I might have lost out on special moments. But when Jill sent us the wedding photos I was blown away. We had Jill photograph our family of 4 for the last 2 years. This year, my son was 2 and daughter, just 4 at the time of the photo shoot. Needless to say for those with kids, but the challenge of getting a picture with all 4 of us looking at the camera and smiling is not easy!
